Just took the test two days ago and passed all three sections. Biggest thing I took away was the video scenarios on the test are a bit more complex than the ones you will see on the practice exam. All in all it’s not an overly challenging test, just stay engaged through the entire test and stay calm.
+Jack Clifford that's awesome! Congrats on passing. That last little bit about staying engaged and calm is spot on. You can't get too worked up because you're going to over think things. But you do need to stay engaged throughout the test or you will miss details on those scenario questions.

Recently graduated the academy and just got out of FTO. The best advice I have is don’t overthink the video portion. Just use common sense and your best judgement when choosing the best option. In terms of the report writing portion try looking at some mock reports online to get an idea of how you want to write. The worst part of the test is honestly the anxiety before you take it. +Uriel Az 2 weeks should be plenty of time. There really isn't much you can study for and the practice tests are there primarily to give you a sense of what the test is going to be like. So, I can't see you needing more time than that. Also, don't sweat it. If you don't get it on the first try you can always retake the test. If you go into it with the mindset of "This is my one and only shot" you'll stress yourself out and over-think the answers. Relax and you'll be fine. When you do take the test come back here and let us know how it went!
I am glad I watched this video because the test seems unnerving , but my question to you is what is the most commonly missed questions ? Also why do you think people answered them wrong ?
I don't know the stats on this test but my guess would be that most people miss the scenario based questions. As far as writing reports, I would suggest going on a ride along and get that information first-hand.
I’ve taken this test 3 times because I failed the video test part. I guess I don’t have common sense and I overthought all of it. There’s a trick to it cause I know I’m not stupid. Let’s put it like this, don’t be strict and by the book for majority of the video part, be lenient. I did better on my first attempt even though it was a fail then the next two I took after with the strict and by the book mentality. So imma have to take a 4th time with a more lenient mentality. I’ve even talked to cops who told me to have a more professional, by the book mentality but it didn’t work it looks like.

The fill in the blanks, got me. I didn't understand because there were 3 brackets of words to choose from. I wasn't sure if all three groups of words could be used for any of the blanks above. Or are they categorized? I still don't know. Missed it by 4 points
Where do you guys get the answers for the frontline police video test? I can't for the life of me pass it. Most of it is vague no context scenarios, and there's ridiculous questions like a partner taking a bag of chips... most of these seem like there's obvious answers but clearly not. It's a 90 day wait to retest.... what on earth do you mean don't stress
The only way I know of to boost your score, if you're taking the National Testing Network exam, is to utilize the practice tests that they provide. There is no way to study for these videos that I am aware of other than to take a few practice tests.

My question is, for the first step (the application process) how long did it take for your application to be reviewed and how long did it take before they emailed you after they reviewed your application? Also, do you recommend waiting before submitting your application if you have not studied yet for the written exam (in the video you stated they gave you 30 days until you had to take the written exam). I am currently looking at applying to the San Francisco Police Department.
It really depends on the agency, most of them will only take a week or two TOP and then give an specific date to take the test, others, like Washington DC, they do all of it in one day with a prospect day, others like Florida, will respond within a week and you have to make an appointment with the test agency to select your exam day. It's been to weeks since your comment so hopefully you already took the test

So taking the written report, how different is this test from the CJBAT? They sound pretty similar except that instead of having to write down a report you have 10 seconds to memorize every detail in a photo and answer questions about it. I passed with almost perfect score the CJBAT, but this one is making me a little nervous
There is no photo memorization on the test I took. But I would imagine that if you passed that you will be able to pass this without an issue. I have never taken the CJBAT so I couldn't tell you how they differ. Just relax and keep a level head. You'll do great!
+Dailyx1 Are you taking it through the National Testing Network? They may have changed things up due to Covid. Best advice I can give you in that situation is to hone in on the details. E.g. In the scenario section what color is the car, where is it parked, where is the damage, who is involved, who are the witnesses, etc. Also, if they play a scenario twice it may help to watch it the first time to get the broad overview then look for the details the second time around. @@paullybaby6391 honestly, I couldn't say whether they would allow more time. Different departments have different policies. The best thing to do is reach out to the department and ask. Worst case, they say no.

Don't sweat it. Even if you fail it you can always try again. If you're taking the test from the National Testing Network you can expect almost exactly what I covered in the video. Again, it's okay to fail. The worst enemy you have against you on this exam is yourself. Walk in there not caring whether you pass or fail. Because if you let the "what ifs" get inside your head, you're going to end up psyching yourself out.
@@aceboogie3538 The test I took didn't have a math section. If yours does, I believe it's pretty basic math that you can brush up on before you sit for the exam. I'm 93% sure they are not going to have you in there solving calculus problems.
Hi Ethan. Passing score is usually 70% or better. I couldn't tell you how they are graded, I've only ever been on the test taker's side of the exam. Hope this helps!
The best practice that I know of is the practice test that you can purchase from the National Testing Network. Now, if you are taking a different test this may not help you because the exam could be different. Other than that, you may find some helpful books online, I've not used them so I cannot attest to their effectiveness.
No problem Luis! The test I took did not have a math section on it. If you're taking your test through the National Testing Network your test probably won't have math; however, if it's through a different organization you may want to inquire about that test specifically. Don't worry about the test too much though. You can generally continue to take it until you pass. Hope this helps!
What did you score? I did worse in the reading too because it includes the cloze part. The reading comprehension can be challenging too. Ill know my score next week.

+The Almighty The best thing you can do is to schedule a ride along and soak up as much information as you can. Prepare any questions in advance and watch a few videos on proper etiquette while on the ride along. This should get you headed in the right direction.
Do they let you retake the ntn written exam. Since they accept the NTN exam and PelletB, do I have the option to retake the written exam with pelletb and improve my scores, because with the NTN exam didn’t go so well with my scores.
I know that you can retake the NTN test, you may have a waiting period in between. I am not familiar with PelletB so you would have to inquire with them directly. However, I can't imagine that they would only give you one shot and never allow you to test again. Keep at it and you'll do just fine Rivas.

Learn your department's codes (Las Vegas uses 400-codes but your department may use 10-codes) Get fit - do as much cardio as you can to get your endurance up. You will likely run A LOT. Learn commonly referenced statutes for your state - for example, in Nevada NRS 200.485 is the statute prohibiting domestic violence. Learn commonly referenced case law. You will be tested on common cases in the academy. One of the best pieces of advice is to do a ride-along with your department. Get the questions you want answers to and ask the cop directly on your ride-along. It's always best to get answers directly from the source. @@cecilio1300 While you're waiting to take the exam again, see if you can do a ride along with someone who has recently joined the department. That way you can ask them how they approached the exam. You can also take this time to familiarize yourself with reading blueprints and layouts. Keep at it, I think you'll ace it next time!
