If only the electric guitar was invented centuries earlier!!! I can't thank you enough for your wonderful effort and congratulate you! This is MAGNIFICENT!
Emotional and powerful playing, it looks like there're on fire in the end! Love the violinist..This is one of the most complicated duets.Unless you have played Passacaglia and undestannd the amount of concentration and the great techique to make the piece amazing, which they did a great job, I won't judge their choice for swiching the viola with an electrical guitar.Though electrical instruments are not my piece of cake I find that version beautiful as well.
And they say that you can't play classical music with (newer) electric guitars. It's interesting how you can sort of make up for the lack of intonation often seen in more contemporary instruments by changing the tone entirely on the spot.
This music just doesn't work for Electric Guitar I think. No dynamic range and just sounds so robotic. It's like I was playing a Midi file on a score programme. The best guitar version of this is still David Russell by miiiiiiles.
I play both classical violin and electric guitar and I'm sorry to say that I didn't like this. The electric guitar lacks dynamics, at least try with a volume pedal or an expression pedal connected to the gain knob. The tone used I think is very outdated, too fuzzy, many highs, not too much definision so as a consequence there were times I couldn't hear the notes you played. Also the guitar was louder than the violin in places it shouldn't be. About the violin playing, I felt the need of more vibrato but the way you played was more connected to the sound of the guitar so I guess it's better. I really like the production. Please take this like a constructive feedback. I'm not just saying "rude" stuff to make people feel bad, ok?
No me gusto para nada... A mi gusto, le arrebato toda la escencia, la simpleza y belleza de la obra.. Quedo algo muy lindo y virtuoso pero no es passacaglia..
As someone who plays electric guitar and violin, I didn't really like this very much. Sounds much better with a viola/cello. The electric guitar does not have the tonal quality, subtley and texture required for such music.
