In this video the horse had a hard time picking up the piaffe, so we are asking for it from a diagonal gait like a rein back and then focusing on keeping the poll the highest point as this horse has a tendency to go behind the vertical when collected. This is actually a sign of not tipping the pelvis enough and therefore rein back is a great way to help with that.
