Key fob wasn’t going in , had to wiggle it to fit. After replacing everything works fine. If something you’re taking out doesn’t come easily then you probably missed a screw or a clip.
What part number has to match? I have one where all the top numbers match but the bottom small numbers are different. Does that matter? Please let me know. Thanks !
Great video, just what i needed :) One question though, is it "plug and play" to replace this? Or does it need any form of programming after replacement part is installed?
wow danke für das knackig kurze video fürs aus- und einbauen. schloss muss angelernt werden? thank you for this video, short and easy. do you have to learn the new one? or not? greetings from austria
Does that red light light up when it's working ? I have. 2006 Passat no start no crank . There's no power going to it . The horn don't work , the lights don't work , now the radio don't work , there's no dashlights on but the door open and DRLs . I hear no clicks of anything . Could it be the ignition switch . Any help is greatly appreciated!
@@lavianeverything Hmm thx .. I'm going to try everything . That's why I was asking if when you put the key fob in is that little red light suppose to light up red? Could it be a faulty ignition switch? I was thinking possibly the steering lock .. but when I put the key fob into the ignition absolutely nothing happens . All that happens is a hear it chime a few times and then nothing . The radio use to turn on when I did that but now that's not even turning on . Thank you for your advice!
Hey man. Great video. If I get another number, do I need to program it or adapt it? I know for a fact that if it has the sume OEM number will be plug&play. Also, how do I get the key out? Mine is stuck in. I think the problem is that the release mechanism is broken.
Take the whole thing apart to remove key, I know that if you put wrong part number if the car is automatic the key won’t lock in ignition. Try another part number but don’t assemble all together, test. Won’t need coding on that part. Other modules do
Just remove the chip from the key you are using and any key you put there needs to have no chip …. Otherwise you will have immo issues. I wouldn’t do this for safety reasons. Anyone can steal it
@lavianeverything Yes , I just find a video witch answord to my question and it will work, you can glue the chip on the left corner down at entrance of the key , is a lot of space there fot doing this and you have just to remove the front cover from the fob not the entire device .So I replay here also in case anyone is interested to to this as well. Thank you for your answer too 😊
Thanks for the quick reply. Great video. Got the switch out and opened it up. Micro switches seem free but I cleaned with contact cleaner. Only an intermittent problem where the fob is pushed to start but nothing happens.
Hi. 2 weeks ago my alarm starting going on when I had locked the car, so i have decided to not lock the car to not disturb my neighbours, after few days, my car do not want start (no ignition when I put the keyfob) I have read a lot of comments on fb forum, and all people said that is battery issue, so I have ordered new battery, problem was solved for the next 4 days... and back yesterday. I have fully charged the battery (12.4v)yesterday but today car do not want start( no ignition, nothing happen when I had put the keyfob etc.) I will be very grateful for any idea with help. That can be ignition switch?
did you find out what your issue was? something is draining my battery, when i lock the car with the key fob the indicators dont flash once like before, it usually means a door or trunk is not closed when you try to lock (or the switch/door control unit is faulty), so the car doesnt shut off properly and drains the battery.
