Sold all my po's......never had the 28......but this is the second vid I've seen and thought.....wowzer..... It's got that Berlin School sound to it. Which it had midi....may have to buy one and sample it!
@Miniclash did you produced maybe something? I love what you played here and i want to listen more of your music. The combo of PO-20 and PO-28 is astonishing. You're unbelievable, that's the genre of music im searching my whole life. Please don't stop and share with us your music 🙏
AWESOME! I have the "Factory" PO and fancy getting the sub one to link up. The way you played those two on the fly was something else and I loved it. Totally brilliant.
Oh but this is gooood. Love it and best demo for the PO-20 to date. It sold me on it (and almost on the PO-28 too). I wish you'd record a tutorial breaking down the steps you took to arrive at this. Kudos in any case.
@@kevmac1230 I have the same problem but I know I am not alone in feeling that the education gained from tutorials is marginal at best. We copy/paste while skimping on the reading. Next time I create one, whatever the topic, I will try to adopt a format more akin to that of The Little Schemer ( mitpress.mit.edu/books/little-schemer-fourth-edition ) and other similar titles.
@@Miniclash I have but it's slow.I'm 65 and come from a place where all this technology is totally foreign to me.I did a lot of recording on tape and in the anolog world. So much has passed me by.But I keep plugging.
Since I’ve started collecting POs (that’s when we’re still cheap) I’m only missing the Arcade, Rick and Morty, and the robot. They are not worth what people are asking now, but I’ve expanded my rhythm section with an RD-9, a Drumlouge, and Roland SH-4D. I already had the DR-880 the DR-770 a Yamaha multi 12, and an Integra 7, also Kontact 14 Collectors. The point is, with all that I still use the POs! They work excellent as oscillators that can be shaped and filtered with my Eurorack, semi-Modular’s, and AUM. So if anyone else is in the same situation, don’t spend a stupid amount of money to complete the collection! I know you’re probably thinking damn, you spent a ridiculous amount of money on yours! Exactly! Honestly I can shape the Factory into any sounding want. Please learn from my mistakes! If you want to build a home studio and you have one PO, learn to shape that! I still keep my eye out, in pawn shops and stuff, but don’t pay these ridiculous prices, and I suggest you don’t sell them either! I saw a Rick and Morty on Reverb for $575! Use them enjoy them! Wonderful video! I enjoyed it!
I just bought the Rhythm and the KO and before they even arrived I added the arcade into the order just cuz I want to make some chiptune songs cuz it reminds me of Gaming and it is just cool
Sure thing, forthis video specifically, I used a simple male/male headphones jack that I put in the Aux in of my PC integrated soundcard. But nowadays, I use a pretty good (for my taste) cheap behringer xenyx USB mixer. It's absolutely all I ever needed for recording simple shit at home.
it is not, the ROBOT only uses white keys from the piano, and here is the list of chords the ARCADE can play - www.teenageengineering.com/guides/po-20/en
strange. the robot solo sounds good but i wonder if it is kind of a 1 trick pony. i imagine it isnt something i could use on every track, would be too similar.
@@jevogroni4829 robot has 15 different sounds and a drum kit and sequencer. Its main purpose is impromptu lead voice live play. But it can be a drum machine or backround music sequencer as well.
I'd say Arcade. It's the most verstaile. You can make full songs wit it alone. The Robot is a leader, you create fantastic solos and leads, but the rythmic section is a joke.
I do use some of the internal punch in effects on both. Some retrigs, the sweep filter on the PO-20 and on the robot, when I change instruments, I actually add in a filter (that's also included) to smooth out a bit the harshness of the whiny lead. But no external pedals or effects no.
