We have been asked many times, when do you publish the ride from Bormio to Stelvio? Our answer was, that it is such a great ride we wanted to film it under perfect conditions. A day in early September 2021 the sky cleared up, and we were able to film the perfect ride with perfect weather.
Passo dello Stelvio is the highest and the most popular mountain pass in Italy. With its jaw-dropping views, the approach from Bormio is spectacular all the way to the top. Even though it is a very difficult ride, you are never bored on this ride. It has and lots of hairpins, many tunnels (short), and segments with various gradients. The Giro d’Italia has been using it many times. And it is very popular with numerous sportives and that is for a good reason. It is a true bucket-list ride that everybody with the required fitness should do. We filmed this epic ride on a beautiful sunny day, so you can experience it in its full splendor.

Take your indoor cycling to the next level and bike the world at your own speed:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for PC. The app lets you take control of the speed of our cycling videos and provides a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on RU-vid. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data displayed during the training session.

Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But when it comes to music, opinions are very mixed. This is why we haven’t added music and why we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute RU-vid and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, RU-vid, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... The original sound of the ride has been left out. This is because that the natural sound of the surroundings is drowned by noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing.
Terms of use:

Thank you. I use your videos for my indoor cycling here in Singapore where it's too hot, humid and rainy outdoors.

Given that the time to climb was 1 hour and 10 minutes, I can only assume that this was recorded on a motorcycle going "slow" (and probably the real reason why there was no audio).

You can certain adjust the speed in the lower right corner if the speed is not of your liking. But from the feedback, we had from our subscribers most prefer the speed of top KOM riders on Strava: www.strava.com/segments/5355771

Wondertul. Could I ask a favour, please? My wife ad I love these videos and they encourage so much more exercise on our static bike. Many rides end at the top but we love the downhill rides, too and the circular rides are all superb. As an example, has anyone ridden and recorded the full Hardknott Pass in the English Lake District?

That is an excellent suggestion. If you have more information on this ride, please send it to: bikethe.world/contact-us/

Traffic on this Route? Heavy or light?
@BiketheWorld
@BiketheWorld Год назад
Good question :-) Weekends during summer can be busy, especially with motorcycles. Still, this is such a great ride, that if you get the chance to do it, do it. You can use our app Open Road to train for it :-)

@@BiketheWorld Thank your for responding so quickly love your vid’s and I will share them. How does it compare to the climb from Prato? The road looks very narrow on your Vid which may discourage traffic???
@BiketheWorld
@BiketheWorld Год назад
@@andrewwhittaker43 Prato is longer and more difficult, but you get some great views of the glaciers. More hair-pins. Traffic wise it seemed more busy.

Nice video but......instead of 'indoor cycling' it should be called 'motorbike ride' 😂
