Did you know that wildlife poisoning was not treated as a crime in Albania until 2019? A new video sheds light on the different aspects relating to wildlife poisoning in the country, taking a look at the past and present.
The video describes how the situation regarding wildlife poisoning issues has changed over the years, focusing on three different time periods: before 1990, after 1990, and the period from 2018 up to today, which also represents the period when some of the most important steps taken to combat this phenomenon in Albania.
Our partners at AOS - Albanian Ornithological Society created the video within the framework of the Balkan Anti-Poisoning Project (BAPP), led by the Vulture Conservation Foundation and funded by the MAVA Foundation. The film aims to inform the public on the issue of wildlife poisoning in Albania as well as to raise awareness and promote institutional and public response to this phenomenon.
