People bought land for whatever reason. It is theirs; in my opinion it is subject to the terms at the time it was purchased. the City Collects Taxes on it. As long as it stays undeveloped it is getting nothing in return. Immenent Doamin should NOT Enrich developers!

How did it go? Did he convince anyone that the government can just make you move because some contractors "need" your land to finish their dream. Contractors get stupid rich and the land owner gets hosed...

You don't own anything in this land.

CLOWNS - Keep your single acres, keep paying property taxes - developers will develop everything around you, rendering your property almost worthless. It's 2022 now - how much is it worth now? LOL
@NotSure876

Just hold onto the land until the developer needs to run utilities through it. Then negotiate a free house and an mil. I’ve seen it happen before

With all of that open land in Sandoval County why are so many of the homes in RR built on such tiny plots? It's like Queens County, NY.

Sounds like government BS to me, eminent domain doesn’t apply to private developers
@ernestbywater411
@ernestbywater411 7 лет назад
They don't need to use eminent domain to buy land. The way a development works is the company buys the land $x per acre, develops at for a cost of $x per acre, to invest $2x per acre and then sell it for $5x per acre. This is because the going rate for undeveloped land is a fraction of the developed land. If the property either side is developed then what would've been $x per acre is now worth $2x per acre. All the company needs to do is to offer well above going rate for undeveloped land, and the people will sell it. Eminent domain was initially created for essential government operated utilities and the like, not for some developer to make millions of dollars of profit.
