@@sandunakalanka112 because they have done so many thing for our country. And they are also legendary players like Viv Richards. So they deserve to be called Sir
Especially no Younis Khan among the finest batsmen in history, extremely consistent across all 4 Innings of a Test Match which is a massive shocker. All Pakistani Cricketers are extremely underrated unless your name is a certain Wasim Akram who is the only player who is immune to this problem, for others forget about including you in their favourite teams nobody gives a damn about you, nobody even mentions your name no matter how great a player you are, whether you are Waqar Younis, Imran Khan, Hanif Mohammad, Mushtaq Mohammad, Zaheer Abbas, Saeed Anwar, Inzamam ul Haq, Mohammad Yousuf, Younis Khan, Fazal Mahmood, Iqbal Qasim, Saeed Ajmal, Javed Miandad, Mushtaq Ahmed, Saqlain Mushtaq, even Yasir Shah will join this list of unlucky players who are simply forgotten. Finest Cricketers in history of Pakistan Cricket.
Its difficult to argue against any of those and Imran, Sanga, Murli, Dravid and Ponting needs a mention too. But the the opener who scored 770 runs in a series against the greatest ever bowling attack has to be there, Mr Gavaskar. I admire both Sehwag and Hayden but none of those would play above Gavaskar.
Sanga is a not a legendary player. He scored most of the runs in later part of his career that too in batting friendly conditions. He never scored against the quality bowling attack. See sanga stats.. sry if i hurt you. Just my view.
Current any form of cricket can't be completed without Virat. He is star of today's era the shear dedication, sublime physical fitness, pure ingenuity of mind and consistency makes him one of the greats game has ever produced. Even the way he gives away his press conferences simply amazing .. #massiverespect
Except this team was hypothesised on before Kohli became the player he is today. I think Kohli's a great player, but at the time they built this team, he was yet to prove himself.
Yes I agree I have no doubt that Kohli is a very good player How great who know s as yet. The competition is very strong Hutton Compton Hammond Bradman Hobbs Gavasker Pointing Sanga and so on... All the above are real great players . Most played on uncovered wickets and much stronger opposition with light bats.
it's a 2016 video and VK started to show his capability in test at 2016. before 2016 he was just a talented but not successful upto his talent kind of test player.
David Rice Those controversies are pure bullshit. Try bowling some offspin yourself. Try to give a good rip. You'll feel like your chucking it too. So many ICC bullshit recently abt off spinners. Harbhajan, Ajmal, Botha, Murali n co.
Due to budgetary reasons, this is the retired Test World XI: 1. Boete Dippenaar 2. Darren Ganga 3. Arjuna Ranatunga 4. Ijaz Ahmed 5. Tom Moody 6. Simon Katich 7. Nayyan Mongia 8. Iftikhar Anjum 9. Darrel Tuffey 10. Nathan Hauritz 11. Matthew Hoggard 12th Man: Shahid Afridi
Like it was pointed out months ago, feel free to select a team YOU think would destroy all those in its path. The beauty of opinion without insulting others is that people will get your point without hassle.
@@Wayne-Donaldson Hadlee? There are so many better all rounders than him. Ian bottham, imran khan, kapil dev, Kallis and you wanna pick a guy with 2 hundreds? Even Ashwin has more hundreds. 🙄
Can't believe New Zealander Doull didn't put up Hadlee. So many great players and yet the only one that didn't play in the 90's or later is Bradman. Maybe some deeper research and not so much of the guys you played with or saw growing up.
1. Hayden - No doubt, best opener ever 2. Sehwag - Brilliant average and brilliant man to open 3. Sir Donald Bradman - The best cricket player of all time, and the best athlete ever to dominate a sport so well 4. Tendulkar - Him and Bradman would be unstoppable 5. Richards - Sublime, can always knock up runs, better than Lara in my opinion 6. Sobers - Better than Kallis. 7. Gilchrist (wk) - Best batting keeper ever. Can't say no 8. Akram - Once again, brilliant bowler and can bat 9. Marshall - Best fast bowler ever to play a test match, no doubt 10. Lillee/Lee - Both quick, aggressive and fun to watch, surprised Lee didn't get mentioned 11. Warne - Best bowler of all time, but can't bat to save his life
Yeah that's what I feel even if you see the cricket between 1990-2007 and compare with 2007-till now you will find that the difference in quality lowered all over the world. There is hardly any bowler of bowling 150kmph in today's world cricket and there is hardly any player can tackle challenging wickets so overall I feel the quality of cricket is the lowest of all time in this era
Arvindh Mani agreed. From the current team I see 4 world class test players there and that's Amla, AB, Steyn and Anderson. I'll explain why I'm happy with those 4: Amla: true, patient player. Will dog out an innings and be the rock against any attack. AB: natural, gifted and flair. Averaging over 50 and counter attacks better than anybody else in the world. Arguably the greatest batsman of our generation (alongside Kohli who should also be I the current XI) Steyn: for me the greatest bowler of our generation. Unbelievably fit when he's not injured and can come in and seam the ball, reverse the ball and bowl at 145km/h+ Anderson: swings both ways, great record. For me, like I said above, you've got to have Kohli in there as well. The rest still have a lot to show and are definitely only there on current form. Fair shout to Warner, Root, Williamson and Stokes but I think they still need to do more before they truly cement their spot in that team. I refuse to accept Smith in that Current XI because the Past XI bowling attack would end his career the way he moves so much.
I will show you how the present world xi looks like. Hasim Amla David Warner Joe root Virat Kohli Steve Smith Ab Ben stokes Ashwin /jadeja Lyon/steyn Starc Anderson
Facing bowlers like Marshall,Garner, Holding,Andy Roberts without Helmet in those era is like jumping in a river without knowing swimming and He has done it with ease
i will start off by saying its completely unfair that no one even thought for a second about muralitharan... its a little sad that dravid, botham, pollock, ntini werent even discussed.. but one thing that is for certain is that dale steyn already has the right to walk into the best ever 11 based on how much of a legend he is...
Sobers remains greatest all rounder. He was a more devastating attacking batsman than Kallis, he didn't play the likes of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to boost his average and he kept bowling whereas Kallis was not so much an all-rounder in later years (his test bowling average would have declined). Kallis and Barnes are the best to play for Wales.
Past test world X1 of last decade 1. G. Smith 2. V.Sehwag 3. Ricky ponting 4.Sachin Tendulkar 5. BC Lara 6. J kallis 7.Adam gilchrist 8.Shane Warne 9.Allan Donald 10. Glen mcgrath 11.M Murlitharan 12. kevin pieterson
David Rice because i am counting about last decade i.e from 2000 it would have been before that he would have definately been a part of that cause there is no playing X1 without him:)
Wasim Akram retired in 2001 I believe haha. Shane Warne was far greater than that cheat Murali. And let's not forget, if Warne hadn't been banned for a year in 2004, he would've got 800 wickets easily
41 test centuries, almost 52 avg, 62 half centuries, three times twin centuries, twin centuries in his 100th test match (only record holder) vs South Africa.. three times wc winner, two times as a captain, two times champions Trophy winner as a captain, 16 consecutive test match winning player as well as a captain, only player in the history who won over 100 test match as a player..many award winner like ice player of the year, icc test player of the year, icc test captain of the year, 4 times allan border medel winner, The Living Legend _ THE RICKY PONTING... u guys missed out him, seriously!!!! joke of the century...hats off to experts..#underknowledge

Shadlee Rahman , Mohd. Ashraful was a brilliant player but his career and stats was not long enough to include him in this team. Maybe , in next decade team we would see Shakib bhai.
Akshat Malsaria Ashraful was terrible he averaged about 20 in test cricket. Certainly Dravid was a world class player in his time but you're completely delusional if you think he's better than Lara kallis pointing tendulkar Richards bradman sobers just to name a few
The #Greatest XI of All Time 1 Jack Hobbs 2 W.G Grace 3 Don Bradman (Cap.) 4 Sachin Tendulkar 5 Viv Richards 6 Gary Sobers 7 Alan Knott (W/k.) 8 Shane Warne 9 Wasim Akram 10 Dennis Lillee 11 Sydney Barnes 12th: Imran Khan. Substitutes: ( George Headley , Brian Lara , Keith Miller , Muttiah Muralitharan , Malcolm Marshall ) Manager :- Sir Frank Worrell .
Absolutely criminal that McGrath isn’t there. They were talking about height and went for Curtly Ambrose, who is only 2 inches taller than McGrath. Also one of the brightest wicket-takers ever.
I think that Compton and Hutton were far greater players as was Hammond . Trueman was the first to 300 hundred wickets Sehwag would have been found out if faced really great bowlers on uncovered wickets
Irrespective of positions and respective of records and consistency, my team would be Pre 2005 : J Kallis, R Ponting(c), R Dravid, S Tendulkar, B Lara, A Gilchrist (wk), A Flintoff, S Warne, M Murlitharan, W Akram, G McGrath, Sir Viv Richards (12th) Post 2005 : A Cook, H Amla, S Smith, V Kohli(c), AB De Villiers (wk), K Pietersen, B Stokes, B Kumar, D Steyn, M Johnson, J Anderson, R Ashwin(12th)
my team Alastair Cook Mark Waugh Ricky Ponting(c) Sachin Tendulkar Jaques Kallis Adam Gilchrist(wk) Brett Lee Wasim Akram Shane Warne Graeme Swann Muthia Muralitharan
Sangakara should be in there. Murali i dont know because already Warne is there and Sehwag, Sachin can bowl some part time as well. but Sangakara is Master class.
sangakara dont good record against big teams..most his centuries came against weak bowling attacks. And as far as murli concern he have taken more wickets on turning tracks while warns have taken it on Australian wickets
S. Gavaskar, Barry Richards, Don Bradman, Viv Richards, Zaheer Abbas, G. Sobers, Adam Gilchrist, Waseem Akram, Malcolm Marshall, Shane Warne, Curtly Ambrose. ..... 12th men onwards....Imran Khan, Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, Michael Holding, Sachin Tendulkar, Glen McGrath, Kumar Sangakkara, Mathew Hayden, Richard Hadlee, Waqar Younis
Sunil Gavaskar Jacques Kallis Sir Donald Bradman Vivian Richards (c) Sachin Tendulkar Brian Lara Adam Gilchrist (wk) Wasim Akram Malculm Marshall Shane Warne Glenn Macgrath
Pretty sad that they did not pick sunil gavaskar. He has 14 centuries against the best bowling attack of his time.. THE WEST INDIES!!. An era which dominated world cricket for 10 years.
Well that was an ungainly exercise...there is no way you can choose best XI of all time. You can just choose a time period and select best players in it.
K G yeah mate! You could easily put all Indians from the past in there, and it'll destroy everyone. You could do the same with a bunch of Aussies. It's just so huge, and wonderful to talk about
I agree you can only really choose time periods of say around 12 to 20 years . Over a 100 years of cricket with so many really great players . You cannot include all of them there are so many from different eras.
I'm going to pick the players that I know well and the ones I've watched growing up. 1. Matthew Hayden 2. Virender Sehwag 3. Sachin Tendulkar 4. Virat Kohli/ Jacques Kallis 5. Ricky Ponting 6. Brian Lara 7. Kumar Sangakkara 8. Wasim Akram 9. Shane Warner 10. Glenn McGrath 11. Muttiah Muralitharan And there's Kohli there because.. well let's just say I've time traveled😅
Im old school aswell and west indian so my list Chris gayle Mathew Hayden Ricky pointing Brain lara Sachin tendukar Jaques khaliss Ghilcrhist Wasim akram Shane warne Curtley ambrose McGrath
For balance you better play Kallis over Kohli to give your team a fifth bowler. Before anyone questions me, I do not consider Tendulkar a fifth bowling option.
Kohli still should not be in any world 11 of test, not that he isn't worthy but there are more worthy batsman. 3. Sir Don 4. SRT 5. Lara these 3 are still untouched. then u have to put an all rounder and a WK at no 6-7. so VK have no chance.
Bradman(Aus)Jack Hobbs(Eng)Dravid(Ind) Tendulkar(Ind) Lara(WI) Sangakara(Srilanka) Kallis(SA) Warne(Aus) Akram(Pak) Murali(Sri) Marshal(WI).I covered players from 7 best test playing nation.
I would like to see another spinner in the team and he would be "Muthaiya Murlidharan" from Sri Lanka instead of one of these fast bowlers and also "Sunil Gawaskar' instead of "Virender Sehwagh".. Gawaskar can bat all day long without giving wicket and can save his team...
Greatest Test Team 1. WG Grace 2. Jack Hobbs 3. Brian Lara (wk) 4. Donald Bradman (Captain) 5. Sachin Tendulkar 6. Garfield Sobers 7. Imran Khan 8. Richard Hadlee 9. Shane Warne 10. Malcolm Marshall 11. Muttiah Muralitharan Subs 12. Ricky Ponting 13. Kumar Sangakkara 14. Walter Hammond 15. Leonard Hutton 16. Ian Botham 17. Glenn McGrath 18. Tich Freeman 19. Mike Procter 20. Wilfred Rhodes 21. Frank Woolley 22. Dale Steyn This team is much better than the one selected by the experts. Wicketkeeping duties to be split alternatively through the match between Grace, Sobers and Lara who were outstanding fielders so when 1 player gets tired other can take over or else when Grace and Sobers get their chance to bowl for the team.
1. Matthew Hayden 2. George Headley MBE 3. Sir Donald Bradman (c) 4. Graeme Pollock 5. Sir IVA Richards 6. Sir Garfield Sobers (vc) 7. Adam Gilchrist 8. Wasim Akram 9. Malcolm Marshall 10. SK Warne 11. DK Lillee 12th - Ricky Ponting (best fielder). Greg Chappell, Richard Hadlee and Joel Garner make up my 15-man squad. I think its right to stack the batting with dashers. The old English players were brick-solid batsmen but with Bradman, Headley and Richards in the team you are certainly not going to be short of runs. With that bowling line up I will back every single one of my batting positions to outscore ANY batsman from the subcontinent without a shadow of a doubt because you are playing this game at either Lords, the home of cricket, or the MCG if you are picking the ultimate team you must pick the ultimate venue.
I would add Hutton and Compton I think that Keith Miller was a far greater allrounder than Botham .. Trueman was probably a better bowler than Lillie also I think .. Hammond was one of England's greatest players if you are going back to to 1930/40s Personally I think that it is not possible to really pick a team from over one hundred years of first class cricket . There are simply far to many great players . So the best way is to pick the best players for each era say 10 to 20 years
Add Hutton Compton Hammond Lindwall Miller Trueman but as I say it is not possible to select just 11 great players from 120 years of Cricket,, there are to many.
1. Sunil Gavaskar 2. Kumar Sangakara (WK) 3. Sir Don Bradman (Captain) 4. Sachi Tendulkar 5. Sir Viv Rechards 6. Sir G. Sobers 7. J. Kallis 8. Wasim Akram 9. Shane Warne 10. C. Ambrose 11. Glen McGrath 12th Man Murli (if playing in subcontinent, comes in for C. Ambrose)
Sehwag can be replaced with Gavaskar. I am quite shocked with the inclusion of Jacques Kallis at #6, he can only bat up the order. Gary Sobers is a better choice at that position.
All time test XI 1. Jack Hobbs 2. Sunil Gavaskar 3. Don Bradman 4. Viv Richards 5. Sachin Tendulkar 6. Garry Sobers 7. Adam Gilchrist 8. Shane Warne 9. Malcom Marshall 10. Glenn Mcgrath 11. Wasim Akram Test XI of my time 1. Matthew Hayden 2. Rahul Dravid 3. Ricky Ponting 4. Sachin Tendulkar 5. Brian Lara 6. Jaques Kallis 7. Adam Gilchrist 8. Shane Warne 9. Wasim Akram 10. Alan Donald 11. Glenn Mcgrath Current test XI 1. Alastair Cook 2. David Warner 3. Kane Williamson 4. Steve Smith 5. Virat Kohli 6. Ben Stokes 7. Quinton De Kock 8. Ravichandran Ashwin 9. Dale Steyn 10. Josh Hazelwood 11. James Anderson

All over the last 20 years Shailesh You need to update your cricket history. It is a futile exercise to try to pick 11 players from a 120 years of cricket. You are illustrating that with your selections good some of them were.

I cannot believe they didn't choose the highest wicket taker in tests muralidaran and one of the greatest test batsmen in our genaration sangakkara to this team. Makes me sad.
Murali isn't a name that many people would throw in solely because his record is inflated by versing BD and ZIM so many times. Not to mention the fact his action would not be accepted today. Warne at Lord's was unstoppable though.
Bcz both of them fckd BD and other asian teams, warne performed everywhere. Sehwag cud have been replaced by gavaskar easily. Sanga scored his prime form after 2008-09, when top bowlers retired or lost form. Morever he cudnt be put at no 3 when u got don bradman, same happened with dravid

How is this for a playing x1? All time👇 Gavaskar Grenidge Richards Tendulkar Lara Sobers Gilchrist Warne Wasim Marshal Mccgrath Of this era👇 Cook Amla Smith Kohli Williamson Abd Stokes Ashwin Steyn Anderson Starc
You leave out sobers and Imran? Openers 1, gawasker instead of either openers 2) greenidge ahead of either openers Hobbs if your considering even older players. Imran ahead of wasim Viv ahead of Lara.
The fact that Sangakkara didn't play his whole career as a wk is the only reason he gets overlooked as wk. If he hadn't given up the gloves, he was easily better than Gilly
YOU COULD ALSO INCLUDE THE GENIUS THAT WAS Denis Compton his record was phenomenal 64 centuries between 1946 and 1950 over 500 wickets 12 test centuries averaging over 70 at that time ...also managed to play foot ball for Arsenal . Despite losing 6 years of the war and not playing any ware near the amount of test cricket they do now he still scored over 123 centuries over 39000 runs and nearly 6000 runs averaging over 50 . A true sporting hero who could on his day take any bowler apart. Love to have seen him against Mulerie and Warne . He was also very charismatic charming . Than another genius Keith Miller a member of the really great Australian side a allrounder far greater than Botham both as a bowler very fast and dangerous.. could turn a match in a couple of overs . On his day a magnificent batsman .
Till 30th August, 2016 you weren't even talking Kohli into consideration but now man as of 26th March, 2018 he has proved to be better than all other batsmen you have in your current world XI. Just see the series where both Abd and Kohli played, who finished with the series with more runs. And ofcourse Smith is going to be banned if reports are to be true for ball tampering. It's actually a shame that you haven't included Kohli.
Shubham Kohli should be in, but don't underestimate AB's performances in the first two tests against India. AB is the only reason south Africa won that test series.
It's hard because we forget so many great players before WW2: My Team would be Jack Hobbs, Gavaskar, Bradman, Tendulkar, Richards, Kallis, Sangakkara, Warne, Steyn, Marshall, Mcgrath. I think I've covered all the generations...
No virat kohli in current world xi Are you guys nuts! Virat kohli has scored more runs than anyone on this team and his average is also better than all of them How can they not pick him? That's a shame man! He's not even the twelfth man! Freakin' weird And sehwag instead of the great sunny gavaskar, the first man to cross the 10k run mark in cricket, when none of the two given openers have made even 9000 runs
I cant believe Nobody picked Kevin Pietersen! He is one of the very few who has scored runs all over the world, including india! Even great names like ponting struggled in India.
Far greater player than Peterson knut is Denis Compton .. A much greater player and sportsman a genius like Peterson but a much greater all round player.. A real hero with charm and charisma in abundance.
