I was mesmerized as I watched your approach to portrait painting with pastels especially of this older man. Layer after layer until I wondered when will you decide to end it! :) I was getting nervous. :) You kept pushing and pushing (which I have a tendency "not" to do enough!) I liked how you chose not to do too much blending in his face and kept the effects of different colors/shapes/values of the folds! Like the broad strokes in the hat, shirt and background. Just wonderful. Thank you for the inspiration! :) I have a magazine picture of an beautiful, smiling, elderly, dark-skinned face that I want to paint and I am thinking of using your approach! :)

Me encanta tu trabajo, eres buenísima, te puedo preguntar cual es el lápiz que usas para hacer las gafas, es un lápiz rojo con mina gorda, es de grafito o pastel?

muy buena la combinación de colores sombras y luz , mi única duda es en cuanto la forma que comienzas a dibujar me da la sensación de que utilizas una técnica de calque , pero espero estar equivocado

What do you use to draw the outline of the old man in the beginning? Just a brown pastel?

I loved this tutorial. The finished portrait was realistic, but I preferred him at stage 6.50/7mins into video.
