Credit to this lovely woman for not only making dishes that are easy to recreate but that are also cheap and use ingredients most of us will have lying around our fridge at one time or another. And how wonderful does that pastry look? I'm off to Aldi ...........
I always keep puff pastry in the freezer. It's so handy for so many things - sweet and savory. We also have individual puff pastry shells in the states and they don't require that you remember to take them out 40 minutes before you use them. It's been a lifesaver for me sometimes. These look fab and a great way to use leftovers. I'm trying them soon and will probably use them with my leftover turkey at Thanksgiving. Maybe even add a bit of sweet potato.
I made Steak, potato and onion Pasties or hand pies yesterday 👍🏻. I buy my frozen puff pastry at my local middle Eastern market- it’s 50% less expensive than ALDI and excellent quality.
Thanks for the tip about the Aldi pastry. I noticed that the chef James Martin uses ready made puff pastry in his recipes rather than making his own from.scratch. Your recipe looks tasty and I will certainly try it although I will omit the mustard.
