That awkward moment when you offer a deal to a cold-blooded murderer that ensures he will be able to walk the streets again in exchange for him telling you he buried the body in the place you just finished searching. Absurdly incompetent law enforcement on full display, once again.
@@Gina19876Plea Deals (i.e. like the one in this case) are for the grieving friends & families… So that they can put their loved one to rest. Plea deals can & will be made and adhered to ONLY if the “Defendant/Criminal/SuckF-!-k” fulfills their end of agreement. 🙄🤦🏻♀️
Why wouldn’t Marie’s infant go to her family rather than the non biological wife of her killer .. makes no sense .. I wish our laws were fair and consistent.. he should’ve gotten longer sentence .
Marie was born in the Philippines and brought home to the United States to live with her father and her siblings. Her ex-husband reported her missing 4 days after the text message. Her family fought for custody of Gracie. She came from a very good family. I don't know why the judge left Gracie with murderers. But that's what bad judges do. This interpretation has so many facts wrong.
How did Tanya get Marie’s daughter!? How is this little girl not with Marie’s family (grandparents, aunts, uncles)? And how creepy that Tanya watched her husband have sex with another woman!
Two years after he murdered Marie he petitioned the Cochise County Superior Court in Arizona to terminate Marie's parental rights. This was a Legal fiasco on many levels. Coast to coast incompetence.
Same here. The fact they didn't find her the first time shows their incompetence. I've seen the backyard in a diff video on this case, not like it's giant. Maybe law enforcement thought it would just be too obvious if it was there, as if that too good to be true, too easy to find and and that James wouldn't be that dumb, so they gave just a half ass attempt just to clear that lead. 😂
I have been involved with the Church world my entire life. I have learned that the devil runs wild there just as much (if not more) than he does everywhere else on the earth. Thank you again Dr. Grande 🙏
It’s a shame that the police didn’t do a more thorough job searching the backyard. He was no better than other killers who get life sentences. He’s even worse because he drew Marie in with his position as a pastor. He should have gotten more time and Marie’s family should have been able to raise Gracie
@@julesvern-u4e Both parties can hold percentages of blame in a bad/toxic relationship. However it's overwhelmingly men who murder women. For example 94% of females murdered in Australia were murdered by males.
@user-hm4jm1cy7m so you're defending a murder and blaming a woman who was murdered by said murder? You're something else. You need to be on a watch list.
@@ashleysmith5001 - Dr Grande always gets me, too, with his funny sarcasm. Many times, I have laughed some coffee out through my nose, doing a "spit-take" of sudden uncontrollable laughter 😂

Well, that is where the koi pond was going to go.😢 or where he was going to plant the tree, or so he could find the gas line, so he could..... God knows what story he would have tried to sell us. ..
"They gave him a plea deal, for information they already had..." 😂 This was ridiculous, the state in this case totally dropped the ball. I've seen people convicted for murder on less evidence. He didn't even tell the truth about what really happened. The "bear hug" story isn't believable. He committed murder but only serving 15 yrs. 🙄Thank you for all your hard work, Dr Grande. Your channel has been my favorite since the first video of your's I watched ❤
Exactly. But he didn't want her to get convicted and the authorities didn't have enough proof. Lots and lots of guilty people running around in the world.
Dear Abby years ago in one of her syndicated columns listed the most promiscuous professions.... #1 by far was the CLERGY.....a distant 2nd was Doctors, then Attorneys, then Salesmen...she was spot on...the Jimmy Swaggarts of the world are just the tip of the iceberg... Dr. G. love your podcasts...best channel by far! Thx
Interesting case Dr. Gande! The fact that she was buried in the backyard where investigators had (supposedly) already searched is absurd. That aspect of this case reminds of another tragic mystery; the unsolved disappearance of Sarah Avon- A child who went missing in Illinois back in 1981. From what I understand, years later someone suspected of involvement in her disappearance actually attempted to make a confession on his deathbed, and included a drawing of his backyard- presumably indicating where Sarah was buried. Sure enough, investigators began excavating a small portion of the site. During this operation neighbors who had lived in the area their entire lives and were very familiar with the area, claimed to have witnessed the suspected killer doing strange renovations in his backyard over the years, and attempted to communicate to the police that they were digging in the wrong place. The neighbors were told to stop interfering. Unfortunately, the little of the yard that the police dug up yielded nothing. And the area of that yard that the neighbors reccomended be searched, still has not been searched. Very frustrating
Wtf is wrong with those police?! If I was the one digging and some neighbors with inside knowledge pointed me in a direction, that's the first place I'd go! Honestly, it kind of sounds like they didn't WANT to find the right spot.. wonder what's going on there? 🤔
The amount of research, editing, scripting, and time you put into all your videos is phenomenal. Nice to see a channel thats educational and entertaining.
"Officer, why aren't we prosecuting this man?" "Sir, I don't think you understand the situation. This one can speak in full sentences. We don't stand a chance!" - the police, probably
This is the second case I’ve heard of where “ground penetrating” tech failed to find a body that was there. The effectiveness of this tech needs to be scrutinized.
@It-is-me...Melsie no they are not. They alert when their handler wants them to. Do you know how they are trained? They are also put in harms way working for police. And police should not be allowed to sic them on people. Lethal force is one thing, and for a specific purpose, but police should not ne allowed to hurt you into submission.
I'm confused...so the perpetrator has literally given the police the exact location of the body and they _still_ haven't gone back and recovered it...? How and why?
I am always listening intently and following the narrative so those little moments of humour tend to catch me off guard lol. That bit where Dr Grande said that, James was putting a show on, ‘probably in an effort to make everyone feel ill’ made me snort my coffee through my nose 😅 You gotta be on guard when watching this channel 😂
@@anne-marieh6128 I think that the point of her post was to say that he is exceptionally qualified, as an individual specialist, to discuss highly eccentric topics. Simply having an educated paper qualification doesn't explain it. He is exceptional. That is the point.
Obviously the "falling hug" story was a blatant lie, especially considering his performance in the back yard and asking to be taken out of the country.
I used to put ground penetrating radar on my "skeptical but possibly useful" category for investigation tools. Im close to throwing it into the "useless nonsense" category along with the supposed lie detector.
What an ugly creep What a tragedy He took advantage of her because of her disorder He should have been locked up for life-And where were the cadaver dogs ??
About cacti: I can’t speak for Dr Grande’s affinity for them, but the symbolism of the saguaro is that it’s resilient and adaptable. It can go a long time without water, it’s body and skin are very tender but it has an external boundary (spikes) to protect it from sunburn and from being eaten, and it grows arms as needed to balance itself out and make sure it stays upright.
No driver different from Palm trees or Tumble weed.......All require Water. Free roaming pests in baron waste lands. However just like Salvia = Hallucinogenic properties
The police should have used a cadaver dog to help them find her body. Cadaver dogs are 95% accurate at their craft; they can also smell remains up to 15-feet underground. These dogs can detect remains up to 30 meters underwater, and sometimes, need just a fraction of a bone or a drop of blood to determine the location of a cadaver.
🐃💩💩💩 Sniffer Dog requires Air for Scent to travel. Opposite to Nuclear Isotopes 6ft of Water to neutralize the threat It's good to have the Tools.......Useless when folk don't know how to use!!
Yep. The police were so ignorant to rely on one tool and walk away confident that there was no body there. Even more so foolish of them given they'd received a tip. Mor0ns!
@@It-is-me...MelsieI really wish we knew who sent that tip!! If it wasn't Tanya or what's-his-face, then that means a third person knew about Marie's murder and where she was buried! Ooh, it's gonna bug me now.
I can't believe this killer literally got away with murder. It's scary that there are a few stories of Rotten Pastors 😳 There was that one where the Pastor murdered his wife Karri, just because some hoe turned up at his church that he wanted to *bleep*. This story with Marie really sucks because Marie obviously had low standards, low self esteem and was in a vulnerable position being a single mum turning up at their church. He had a duty of care, failed abysmally at that and then showed that he was just a shallow , narcissistic killer only interested in someones looks and getting a cheap thrill from a f*ck. Not only not a Pastor's bootlace, but not even just a typical bloke thinking with his little head, but actually a cold, calculated killer who had no place preaching spiritual guidance to people. What a shame Marie's family did not get custody of the baby. I hope that the evil Pastor's wife treats that little girl properly given the circumstances 😢
Actually, there are more than a few stories of rotten pastors. ID network had an entire crime series on pastors/rabbis/priests a number of years ago. I'm sure there are more since then.
Doc. Here is my thought. Hell has a special place for that man. Heaven is especially grieved and offended. He better be praying. Jerk. Anyway. As always love ya. Best wishes from Memphis Tennessee.🐈🐾
When unbalanced vulnerable people and predators cross paths bad things happen. Pastoring a church doesn't make him a "man of God". Christ himself said false prophets and false.christ would arise.
Look into Martin Luther. He invented the modern easy-grace movement. The entire protestant church system is based on his flawed teachings. Edit: I realize this might be a bit vague. The gosple of Jesus Christ is actually quite simple: it is reading his words and doing what he says. If you do that, you'll probably find something you need to change. However, if you tell an elder or a pastor about it, they'll tell you you're on your way to hell for doing what Jesus says. I quit porn because Jesus said lust will take you to hell. This was against the advice of my pastor, who said nobody can stop lusting and God doesn't want us to. Many church people told me I must "repent." I.e., I must return to pornography, and it's non-Christian to give it up. I was totally baffled, until I started studying the writings of Martin Luther. There, sure enough, he plainly says, the only sin that can send us to hell, is trying to not sin. It's quite amazing stuff. The devil owns the church.
@@bluedistortions I think you’re exaggerating. Nobody among the leaders of my church would tell you that pornography is okay. Then again, I belong to a Calvinist denomination, the Christian Reformed Church in North America. Some congregations are more legalistic than others, but we still preach salvation by grace through faith. When you read Luther you have to remember his background. He was a monk who had to spiritually pull himself up by his own bootstraps, and his fear of not meeting God’s standards caused him angst, so for him to discover that his faith was enough was both a revelation and a huge relief. So I think he swung the pendulum a little too far to the other extreme.
“James put on a little show in the backyard by kneeling and crying on the ground, probably in an effort to make everyone who was watching him… physically ill.” 🤣
A couple of things: how can his wife, Tanya, be completely innocent? She had to at least aided and abetted her husband. Secondly, I think his sermons must have been fairly shallow, but people were attracted to his charisma. Maybe. I really wonder why some people go to church. Thirdly, are those cacti candles in the background?
Maybe Dr. Grande should do a video about why it is so hard for some congregations to accept their pastor has a bad side. And that all the forgiveness in the world won't change him.

Why would the wife of the killer get custody of the child? They have no relationship to each other. Plus I don’t believe that she had nothing to do with the murder. She probably was a part of it. They should get that child away from her asap.
Does evil really exist? Or is it maybe a convenient way of explaining something without having to think more deeply about possible causes? Isn't Dr Grande trying to offer explanation without resorting to such terms?
I moved out of one church as there was a couple of “love-starved” women who wouldn’t stop hitting on me. They eventually compromised a couple of deacons and were part of an embezzlement scheme that also involved the pastor and robbed thousands from the treasury.
Greetings from Canada. Wow, doc! Sometimes you make me LoL so loud, often in a good way. I don't always agree with your point of view, but you do cover lots of cases within the parameters of my "hobby" ; it's quite refreshing to check out your point of view. Re this episode: to use clinical terminology, "what a puke Mr Flanders is!"
I believe you mentioned the police got a tip that a body was buried in the backyard. Doubtful he called in the tip so did his wife, which provides doubt that she was totally innocent, or was there someone else he was involved with who he told or someone else also involved? Just wondering.
Check out John Homer Docherty out of Pensacola. It’s a no body case on of the first in FLA to have charges brought against. It’s a good one. Thanks for another classic Dr.G
Am I missing something? James plea deal was contingent on his revealing the location of Marie’s body yet her body was never found. If he didn’t keep his part of the deal the same had no obligation to keep theirs. The plea deal should have been off the table and he should have been tried for 2nd degree murder and given a life sentence
I have this moving image in my mind at times of you proposing to your wife whether you should incorporate your wicked sense of humor in your videos or not. It's a sweet little scene. I'm glad she supported you. As well as the cacti backdrop. "Go for it, babe!" Is what I heard.
It sounds ridiculous that the prosecutors would be afraid that he would be a formidable adversary in court... but remember folks, we're talking about Florida.
It’s interesting to think her body wasn’t in the backyard when the police searched it, but James moved it there because where else put the body than somewhere the police are sure it’s not.
I agree that the killer pastor deserved many more years in prison. Over the years I've been told "You can trust me, I'm a Christian" which gets my response "No I can't, too many Christians behave like they have a license to sin, so you'll have to earn my trust like everybody else."
That’s a creepy woman. I loved her books but once I read the court documents about her treatment of her daughter I can’t begin to imagine even having any thing connected to her in my home.
Hi Dr. Granda. May I have a question? People with HEAVY magligant narcissism and psychotic traits, how do keep safe from these who pose a danger to society?
The son of the pastor was in his 30s, ugly, very arrogant. He was in love of 15 y.o. girl in the teen group. There was a camp. My friend went to same school than 15 y.o. she told me that teens have sex on camps. I decided not going. The 15 y.o. girl and my friend went to camp. Months later i saw the pastors son and the 15 y.o. girl pregnant with a big belly buying pampers with him. They kept secret to church her pregnancy. They married years later. The pastor sent him as misionary to another city with the girl. Beware of camps
was the wife not complicit in the murder or at least in the assisting of the cover up thereafter? Great title for a book dr Grande 'Choke your way to heaven" !
It's funny how his name's Flanders, like the weird Christian in The Simpsons. What a light sentence for killing someone, especially for a pastor who's supposed to spread peace and love.
Dr. Grande! i would be interested to see what you have to say about Romana Didulo & the “Kingdom of Canada” cult she heads in 🇨🇦. definitely worth coverage & an analysis, she’s crazy!
