The song is from Lucifer’s perspective when he fell, however, this parallels the bands experience upon signing with a major label. Perspective overlaps Major Label: God Asking Alexandria: Lucifer
If you want a good look at both sides of the Christ/Lucifer prospective listen to “Son of the morning” and the then “The Finisher” by a band called Oh, Sleeper.
This is like when you're on the way to youth group and you play a new song and you have to go into a debate to convince your dad you can listen to it xD
I jammed alot of these guys in high school. They got me into heavier genres, along with Slipknot. Also, just found this channel today! Scrolling through the videos as I speak. You guys should give Beartooth another try! I request The Lines by them
This song isn't about worshipping Satan. They're basically saying they don't follow any religion. So that being said. Those who do believe in any religion. They tend to outcast anyone who's an Atheist. Which seems to be a problem in all societies today. Also, the lead singer wrote this song to piss people off and basically saying, "why do people have to be punished for not believing in God?" You know? However, last time I checked, we all have free will. I don't have anything against anyone who's religious. Yet again, don't force something on to me that I don't enjoy. Ima believe whatever I want to believe in. I stand on my credentials and my knowledge. That's something they can never take away from me lol. Okay, love y'all. Peace out. 😎👊
I like this song, altho I have noticed that we have differences in opinion on some songs and that’s okay too, maybe check out some Ice Nine Kills they have done several songs based on Horror Movies, their most recent album the Silver scream is all about horror movies it’s actually really good
At this point he believes god is the enemy it was the rebellious stage in everyone's lives but put to the extreme. Its a catholic meets drugs thing in my experience at least before the real message of god is realized
The dude who wrote it is atheist. He just wrote it because it's interesting seeing the story from the other perspective. It's not him personally saying those things.. He's telling a story from your religion.
The first thing yall talked about its basically saying, he came forth and said unto me and then it quotes what he said TO the vocalist. And its not rebellion its just not believing lol and the latin in the name ACTUALLY means “dead and gone” ..google fucks that one up lol good song though my favorite off that album!😈🤘🏻
Omg yes thank you for reacting to them again! Please do the singers new solo song "best bad habit" his name is Danny worsnop. I really think you'd like it. I definitely agree with bigkat this isn't their best work they have way better songs with deeper meanings than this one.
at this time of the album, the whole band was in a bad time of their life, with sex, drugs and alcohol. and also there atheists except for one guy in the band whos a christian
With this song you have to realize that this time was during when they were heavy into drinking and drugs (Heck the second album was written on partying etc and the third album barely came out due to the singer being heavy into drugs and drinking.)
I heard that you are meant to take it as thinking of the topic they are talking about as someone you hate such as your boss etc. not as a direct jab at christianity
6:16 I am actually disappointed that the guy on the left did not know what he was walking into. I would have much rather have heard six mins of analysis about the antichrist spirit rather than an epiphany of false prophetism~
If he's talking about God how can he kill something he doesn't believe in? Lmao Also I think enough time has passed now lol I request EPICA-Fools of damnation or serenade of self destruction
