I had first-hand knowledge of our badly the Pentecostal church in Australia handled child sexual abuse This kind of cover up brings disgrace to the whole Pentecostal movement. My question is where is the discernment. Where are the anointed men and women of God who can call out such situations before the victims have to speak up. What are the gifts of the Spirit for. It is both a moral failure and a crime. The parents were too trusting of pastors. And honestly, if you were to tell many people that they trust too much in their religious leaders, many would deny it. This is actually how so many end up with the sin of unlawful contention and are not fit to be teachers nor claim such authority.

before you join another church do a google search on them and look up the reviews people give about that church and see if that church gets any negative reviews and read what they say about the church when they give it negative reviews to protect yourself, if they get a lot of bad reviews I would avoid that church

I'm almost in the same position. Although I'm instantly done with him, he is one of the most capable people in explaining scripture I've ever heard. My 89 year old mother is presently in the hospital with what is going to be end-of-life cancer. I've not been able to get this off my mind since I learned of this yesterday and I can't imagine what it would do to my dear mother and she prepares to meet her beloved Jesus. No need to tell her, she will know more about it than I, very shortly. But I am devastated by this news. It would have been better to never have heard Morris preach, than to deal with this. I faithfully go forward.

I learned a valuable painful lesson years ago. Leaders feet are made of clay and they may stand on a rusty platform but eventually it comes too light. What’s so sad is the lives and trust that they are responsible for. Yes GOD forgives but we have to be honest and walk in truth. I think the institutional church calls sin moral failure may sound better but it is sin and I know the pain and struggle this lady has carried and probably affected her other relationships.

Preparing for much criticism here, but I do not understand why people’s faith is being shaken by the sin of this man? What do you expect from a sinner? Remember King David? He was guilty of murder as well as adultery. According to the Law he should have been killed; but God had mercy. Yes, there were consequences for his sin. My point is that people should be looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, and not be surprised when sinful man falls. Even Paul said, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” (l Corinthians 11:1) And he even called himself the chief of sinners.
