I was always wondering how this pastry is made, but now, once I made it, I am started to get addicted to . I am making it for a first time, and I enjoyed it. Here is the recipe:
For the dough:
• 300 ml water room temperature
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/4 cup honey
Mix well then add
• 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
Combine everything well into a firm dough.
Wrap it in plastic wrap an refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or overnight
While dough is in refrigerator, start making the Filling:
In the pan, on medium heat mix:
• 300 ml water and
• 200 grams sugar
Just before start boiling, add
• 100 grams semolina flour,
Immediately start mixing, until smooth, and let it cool down
Add:
• 1 1/2 block cream cheese
• orange zest
• 2 vanilla packs
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp cinnamon
Combine everything well and refrigerate.
Remove the dough from the fridge, cut into 2 pieces, make one at the time, it’s easier that way
Using Pasta Roller, make dough sheets, as thin as possible, rolling the dough 2-3 times through the Roller.
( I suggest that while rolling the dough, sprinkle flour so doesn’t stick)
Roll the dough on rolling pan, ( again!!! Please sprinkle flour so doesn’t stick)
Start unrolling the dough sheet, roll back, but now you spread butter
Ready rolls should go in refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours, or freeze for 1/2 hour
Cut 1/2 inches circles, make cones, watch the video for better instructions, fill inside the cone with tbs filling, close the edge, place pastry on the pan with parchment paper.
Bake on 400 f for 20-22 minutes, until golden
Cool pastry first, before sprinkle sugar powder
I love this recipe! It’s extremely delicious, nice and crunchy, crispy, I have no words to explain 😋
