Summer work on an old farm. Maintaining fences, fields and feed for the sheep and horse. I reminisce and share a story about building farm fences.
I'd intended this to upload last week to share in "Fencepost Friday". If you're on Instagram, you might look up and follow _jo_skye for amazing family sheep farming, I really enjoy her posts. Thank you for watching!

@@CorrinaCreates thank you Corrina! I don't know if I ever said, but Kyle is trained to both ride and drive! It's a shame, though, that I don't take time to do either. He has the most amazing extended trot!

Your pastures are so beautiful. I loved seeing the green fields and the trees in the distance. If I was a sheep, I would be very happy on your farm! I live on a seam of yellow “bull tallow” clay (our clay soils are usually red here because of all the iron in the soil) and totally get how impenetrable clay can be. My garden had to be built raised beds because there was no way to dig and turn over the “soil”. I planted two trees when I moved here, and yes, had to have the trees professionally planted using a giant auger and a back hoe to dig the holes. Amazingly the trees lived! Thanks for sharing your summer morning! harpingJanet

Happy gotcha month, to your lovely Bailey! Love seeing your sheep and pretty pastures. I love that you left the banged up gate as a reminder.

The lambs are so big, now! Do the Shetland sheep give good Bailey a hard time? I love these farm vlogs, Cary. And Kyle is indeed a handsome Boy. 🥰

@@SoulfulSpinning hi Lisa! Yes, several of the Shetlands give Bailey (and Badger if you can imagine!) a real hard time! Some of the lambs are nearly as big as their Moms!

lol, your gate story! Those things happen don’t they, and after a while we just gotta laugh for our own sanity 😂 Although in my incidence it took me ages to be able to not still feel upset about my story in that vein … I was in my 20s & had just bought my 1st ever new car, a dream car for me. And in less than 24 hours someone rear ended me at a stop light! lol, I was SO mad!! Thankfully I don’t have (usually 😂) that kind of temper any more. I hope you & Bill were able to laugh about your gate 🤗 …
