@@completecharleston7142 I realize that. Because it is the exact song on the studio album. You can never sing a song live note for note from a studio version. Most people don't see that like you and I can.
Neil Geraldo is such a talented guitar player. We hear him on other peoples records too, but don't know it. I have always loved his tone, him and Angus Young!
She had you quite energized! She does that, whether 40, 20 Years ago or just before covid, she is a great rock and roller, along with her husband and musical soul mate since the beginning, guitarist Neal Geraldo. The make such good songs, try Hell is for Children, Shadows of the Night and All Fired Up, they are an amazing pair and you will love these tunes! You look great as always Angela and brighten up my Friday evening. 😉 Rock On. 🎸
@@michaelasay8587 don't remember the year, but saw them live, as well. Pat nearly deafened us all when she said "thank you" the first time. Her (operatic trained) voice is nothing short of dangerous! In a good way.
What I love so much about your reactions: I am so addicted to music and discover new songs, artists… and when I watch you I feel like I am watching, feeling and learning it with a friend! Cause you groove, are open minded and really listen! That’s how music should be heard, imo! So thanks a lot ♥️
You were very intuitive to notice the strong connection between Pat and her band. Her lead guitarist and primary songwriter, Neil Geraldo, joined her band in 1979, married her in 1982, and continues to tour with his wife to this very day!
Ohh man,..brings back memories,..this is the Precious Time album,..played it all the time,..wore it out,..and you thought it was a ballad,..huh,...well there is another from same album,..Precious Time,..a brutality good one,.slow,..but brutal,...the lyrics are killer,..its kinda a before Alanis Morisette You Oughta Know,..Pat has that strong fierce voice,..she was studying to be an opera singer,..don't know how her parents felt,..but I'm sure glad she changed direction and went the rock route instead,..keep going,..Godspeed, Peace ✌
Yes she was! I was a huge Linda Ronstadt fan(still am) When Pat came out,she made me forget who Ronstadt was! Benatar came out at the right time in rock music,as did Joan Jett.
Something about a beautiful woman dancing to rock and roll. ❤️ Pat Benetar & Neil Geraldo (guitarist) have been married since then , Still are 40 years later.
This was the first song her and Neil wrote together. About their new relationship. Neil just got cheated on and Pat had just got divorced. She was so shy of the lyrics she put them under his door rather than see his reaction to them face to face. He then took them and wrote the music.
Could you react to Nick Gilder's "Hot child in the City". My grandmother said everytime this song came on that it would remind her of my sister. Unfortunately both of my 2 favorite ladies have passed on. It's not a slow crying song. But there was a time that my sister lost her way in life before she got it back together and it was during that time when this song came out and my grandmother said this song was my sister. Just wanted to get your younger view point on this song. Thank you and keep doing your reactions they are very refreshing.
I saw you figure it out just short of 1:00. Yes, this isn't a happy song. The good thing is that (as others noted) she and Neil have been together for "a long time." ... yes, it is a banger.
I would like to make a suggestion of some songs by the band "Bread". They are not necessarily sad but very poetic and I think you would really enjoy them. I find your reaction channel to be one of the best. You seem to be very empathetic which makes your analysis of the words and music much more accurate to the meaning of the song and the time it was written. Let me know if you're interested and I will narrow down a couple requests by Bread. Or even some others bands if you're interested.
Angela, can you possibly BE any cuter ??? BTW, I've been waiting for the right time, but now, there's just something I gotta say to you ... er, uh, well, what I wanted to say was, "OH Angela, I'll treat cha better. THIS time, it won't BE this way and, uh, you're beautiful and you're the BEST thing that's ever happened to me ...". Did it work 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ??? Seriously, I LOVE 🌹😘😍🥰🤪😜🌹 your reactions !!! You always seem to know how to pick just the right ones to react to, and then you meld with them so perfectly. Kudos and Merry, Happy, Ladies' Night 😉😊😁👍.
Great choice; you have discriminating patrons! Benatar was relentlessly grown-up with her music; no party-rock with her. Instead, songs about compulsion, obsession, bad choices! Her songs focused on consequences, lol! The themes in her early records broke in two ways: 1) Don't mess with me, and 2) See how you are? look at what you did! When she exploded on the scene, a lot of guys were thinking, "Well, Heart was a one-off. There won't be another good 'chick rock band'." Rock was always a boys' club, both in the industry and even among the fans. But her music was very strong, and her guitar-playing husband Neil Giraldo was one of the great players of the age. (The solo on "Precious Time", from this record, is among the best solos of the 1980s.) With hits in 3 decades I really don't know why Pat isn't in the RRHOF.
You obviously enjoyed this song but you owe it to yourself to watch the official video performance. It is so cool, an awesome performance of Pat and her husband Neal Giraldo who plays lead guitar making an awesome performance. BTW they have been happily married for over 30 years and are still performing together. Check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7qUFZwJb9GA.html
