@@joeb5358 He also quit because his appointment was a sham, Bill Parcell's resigned as head coach to trigger a clause in Bill's contract giving him the position and requiring him to stay. Parcell's lorded over Belichick since the Giants, and would never give Bill the credit or free hand. Plus Bill Parcells hated Robert Kraft, and wouldn't allow him to talk to Belichick, and wouldn't even tell Belichick Kraft was interested. At the same time, Parcells left the Patriots under similar conditions. This started a blood feud with the Jets that including them taking Mangini, and then the bogus spygate accusation. He was damaged goods coming out of college. The other injuries reduced his effectiveness. I saw the difference between him and Brady during the AFC playoffs; Brady at that time could get a pass downfield 30-40 yards and 15 yard out routes. Pennington struggled with that. That makes the difference between converting a 3rd and long into a drive sustaining first down and having a drive stall and forced to punt. The most accurate passer the Jets had was Ken O'Brien; the best QB the Jets had since Namath was Matt Robinson. But he fucked up his relationship with the coaching staff and they went with Richard Todd instead.

I’m just reminded the Bears signed Sanchez and McCown. Actually my first live NFL game was Jets @ Bears 2010, White Christmas in Chicago (saw Tron: Legacy at Navy Pier IMAX, True Grit at River East) and met Coach Lovie at the Hilton on Michigan. The fan walk to Soldier Field, the fricking cannon of Cutler, the interception by Harris to seal it. I loved it. (Shame the following year was the Johnny Knox/Seahawks game felt unreal).

Not to mention that Vinny's career resurgence was cut short with the Jets because of that achilles injury. Non bears fan here. How the heck did they manage to hide their absolutely terrible running game, as a QB controversy the past two years while throwing trubisky under the bus? Like first 11 games last year with only 2 total rushing TD's, and 6 of those games they were held to under 100 rushing yards. Not saying trubisky is great and all but had a better rushing average than the starting RB who had less than 3 yards per carry at one point.
@thejman4014
@thejman4014 3 года назад
@@kevinthejuice as a bears fan I can confidently say that our offense was putrid (I watched every game Trubisky has played). What us bears fan see is that Trubisky is very late and at times refuses to throw balls into open windows. There are so many times where he has a receiver open but he is to scared to throw it. The running game definitely didn’t help but he was also very bad

As a Jets fan I’ve learn to just take the punches as they come because while the Jets have made many many MANY awful and stupid on and off the field decisions, every bit of success we’ve had is always countered with “yeah but the Butt-Fumble” or something trivial of that nature. I mean yeah a lot of these QBs sucked with us but guess what? A lot of them would have sucked for most franchises.

Vinny Testaverde is my favorite terrible QB of all time. He was the 1st overall pick by the Buccaneers in 1987, which was the reason why the 49ers could trade for Steve Young. He had one of the worst seasons EVER in his sophomore season. (222/466 (47.6%) for 3240 Yards, 13 TDs and 35 Ints, 48.8 passer rating) He was the QB when the Browns won their last playoff game before this year. He was the last starting QB for the old Cleveland Browns before they moved to Baltimore and the first for the Ravens. He lead the New York Jets to an AFC Championship Game. He still holds the record for most consecutive seasons with at least one TD pass. (21 seasons) He holds the record for the most losses as a starting QB. He absolutely fascinates me.
