Thanks for doing all the special shade dupes for EVERY mothership. 😱 I'm not really into PM - the color stories aren't me or don't fit my skin+undertone, and I don't like the bulky size of the Motherships. As Nikki Raven recently said, "You can kill a b**ch w that palette." 🤣 However, I was really curious what all the hype around the special shades was about and now I know. I also found some shades I was interested in: Tucana and Australis from DC. Tucana reminds me of Pink Ginger from Kaleidos' Sashimi City that I wanted, but I didn't want to order a whole palette for one shade. Now I can just order the dupe! Thank u! 🥰

I think I’ve been pickier lately and I want that to continue. Tucana is absolutely like pink ginger from the sashimi city! It sells out pretty often but if you can get your hands on it, that would be way better than buying a whole palette for sure!!!! Thank you again!!!

@@BeautyAndTheFrizz I got inspired to dig through my singles. Grisaille by CC is almost exact to VR violet and glow by CC is a great dupe for astral white but also has a purple flip. VR nectar-blaze by CC

Blitz Emerald has to be one of my fave shades in PMG's line. I did my friend's makeup for Halloween and used the Sublime palette and Momma...I could not get over how pretty her eyes were! I blended some of Bronze 005 onto Blitz Emerald and thought, "Wow, no wonder gold is PMG's favorite color." That sparkle was killin' it! She received so many compliments that night and I know it was because of that sparkle. I just made sure I used a lot of glitter glue and packed those shadows on. Sublime really is a complete palette. I didn't need to bring in any other palette. My fave is still Midnight Sun, though! ❤️
omg i just bought my first mothership palette yesterday.. but after stumbling upon this video i wish i didnt!! all the dupes are even smoother, shinier, and have a more intense duochrome! i loved this video. instant subscribe for me!! ❤
This was so amazing! Thank you for taking the time to find all these comparisons. I know some people love PMG and that is great for them, but seeing the comparisons really drove home to me that I can get similar or better shifty shadows from indie brandsand don't need the mothership palettes.
Great video!!! Thank you! I was wondering where we saw Blitz Sextreme before? I don’t see it in any of the other Motherships, but I could be missing it! Also, Millie, from Bad to the Brow, will take a multichrome or duochrome color and show how it exists in a bunch of different brands and those all shimmer shadows. So we have lots and lots of dupes in our collections.
Great video!!!! I have to say though I love the mothership blitz formulas packaged with their color story. It makes me use them more. These other brands however have absolutely gorgeous mind blowing shifty shades. I agree that for now, I’m more likely to invest in motherships and skipping lots of these redundant 6-pans and quads.

Thank you! This convinces me I never need to buy a Pat McGrath mothership. Those indie shadow. Which I have most of knocked the PML shades out the water! I think I’ll only maybe buy the holiday palettes from PML

Loved all the comparisons, thx babe. The only mothership I’m missing is DR1so I think I will just have babe or my bestie buy it for my bday. Although I own alot of indie singles that I’ve been incorporating alot lately

I do think that her special shade of dupe . Needs that right matte shade to make the difference if you do not have PM specific special shades.. They also seem to be repeated shade in some of her palettes which to me .. I can't see purchasing for 125.00 .I will be looking into getting shade like them 👍
I was looking at splurging on a Mothership palette. Finally... but I have a good sized Indie shadow collection that I know I would be disappointed in most of the special shades in her palettes. But I do love her matte formula. I may have to just stick to building my own palettes. Truth is - I have just about every shade I could want to dupe any palette at this point. I'm really just interested in those different textures/shadows that I know I will get use out of.

@@BeautyAndTheFrizz Omg!?? NO! I did not see the teaser. Wtf!? .. I only have the Celestial Divinity palette and I really love the mattes in that palette. Super easy to use. I can make an eye look in seconds. I like the other textures in the palette even though nothing is super shimmery or shifty in it. Still a solid palette IMO. But I was thinking to get a Mothership that I would use a ton - where the majority of shades look like something I could reach for on workdays but still be special and feel luxe.
@@BeautyAndTheFrizz This really showed me my PM quad & Celestial Odyssey 2021 palettes I got to try the brand is probably enough. I have many Indy singles that should keep me so happy 😊
I am slightly disgusted at the fact that PML has so many similar shades and repeats. Like there are only ten shades in these mothership palettes wtf!,,,, I think she should have cut down on releases instead or releasing these palettes with so many duplicates and similar shades it would make her pa,Estes more meaningful but I know a lot of people are sold on the fantasy the brand creates. But at least the quality of her shadows are good so ……. Anyhow I’m glad I started down the indie road and didn’t pay too much attention to mainstream eyeshadow after urban decay disappointed me by now releasing anything good after Born To Run!
Omg indie is killing it right now for real!!!! I know many of the pmg shades have slight differences but they may not translate on the eye. It was good for me to compare all these shades!!!
