Pat Davis also danced on Dick Clark's "American Bandstand" her tenure on Bandstand was not as long as Soul Train, but yes, Pat Davis also did her thing on Bandstand from 1973-1974.
lyslinger that was tight!!! I used to watch soul train every sat and wish i was there. Pat was my favorite I always wanted to see what she would be wearing and what new dance moves she would be doing
I grew up in that era watching Soul Train every Saturday morning and Pat Davis was "the" most popular female dancer on Soul Train in the 70's. Her style was different from everybody else. Her trademark of wearing a flower in her hair which represented Billie Holliday's style and her neck rolling, along with her dance moves, different gimmicks, and her outfits made her unique. Everybody looked forward to watching her. She was the highlight out of all the dancers, hands down....
Now this is dancing! Pat had command of so many styles, and each one was sexier than the last. And as tropicalpancake commented below, she kept it classy. I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and learn those moves!
Pat Davis aka the butterfly was a original st member. what i like about Pat is the way she can breakdown with speed various and style. the girl had a very unique style.
Pat Davis was the very first lady I had a crush on, from Soul Train to right on Magazine, Jody Watley said that Pat was an Inspiration, she set the standard for Jody, Niecy Payne, Rosie Perez after her no Question. This past weekend I had a pre-50th birthday party and my younger sister dressed like Pat Davis Awesome!
Until Imread these comments, I was afraid to say...Pat Davis was bad. To me Cookie Morris, and Pat Davis were the business! No female could touch Jodie Watley at locking, and Damita was good. The four of them were the essence of Soul Train. But Cookie Morris and Pat Davis were something a little extra special. I find myself wanting to bust some old Cookie Morris moves right now!
She was definitely Soul Train. It wasn’t the same for me, when she didn’t appear on an airing, and after she parted ways with the show. Though, I was only a child.
@@kwasiaking1989 I was in my early teens watching her she always stuck out among the crowd of dancers her style was different her body moved exactly with the beat of any song they played. Ppl like that u wish they can stay young and live forever 🙏🏾
@@spank2424 what’s crazy is that I feel some type of way, when people declare Damita Jo Freeman, as the better dancer. She was a very good dancer, but she was basic, in comparison. Pat Davis’ dance style was so innovative. She was light years ahead of her time.
