I like how Alarielle's new intro is the first time we've ever seen a lord/hero from TWWIII smile in a non-agressive/smirking/mocking way. It's really a new thing.
I love how they added that in. "I LEAD, FROM REAR!" Cuts to Tretch slinking back, glancing over his shoulder to make sure no villainous rivals are gonna shank him in the process.
This was a thing tho. Both in lore and in the tabletop: One of the perks of rank in skaven society was to stay as far away from danger as possible. Leading from the front was seen as unconventional and the province of particullary bloodthirsty warlords , such as Queek.
@@miguellemir242 Of course! Every smart Skaven knows that only the stupid no-fur leaders would run into battle, only to get shot in the head and die. Brave-mighty Skaven leaders watch the battle from a safe vantage point. Surrounded by their most loyal-trusted bodyguards. Stupid no-fur things and stupid-foolish Skaven lead from front that is. But no one tell Queek that. This one likes his beautiful head too much.
Im really glad hey decided to update Allariele's intro. It was legitemately one of the most awkward lord select screens in the game. Allariele the Radiant, Everqueen of Ulthuan randomly decides to perform some kung fu moves in an open field while yelling with her mouth closed.
I always liked to imagine that a camera crew showes up at Alarielle's garden one day while she was loitering around, and said to do something really cool while we film you. And they only had the budget for one take so they went with the first thing she did.
@@Indolthir Good news! That clip shall be forever immortalized in the video I did for High Elf lords. Which I recorded and released before this update. #selfpromotion :)
@@donkarnage6986 Literally haven't seen any other comments like this since this is my first time seeing these new lord select screens. Maybe it would just occur to you that people can have a similar way of thinking?
Alarielle's is such an improvement from the "look up, yell, cast a random spell, leap back" intro she's had since two. It actually fits her character now and is completely distinct from anyone else's. Like, she even smiles! In a Warhammer game! And not after visiting horrible violence on someone else!
I think Alarielle, Tretch and Settra's might be my top 3 from this. Alarielle is just having a literal walk in a park, but it's so distinct and in character for her. And yeah, I love the new facial animations. Her smile is so well done.
Aranessa looking down on me (ty) Hellebron looking even more badass with the shrine and Har Ganeth banner Tretch absolutely fun seeing him being him Lokhir no longer had his tentacles attached to his body SETTRA SHALL RULE THE WORLD 🎺🎺🎺!!! Alarielle finally had calmed down Khalida looks like those villains for the next the mummy movie Imrik even more punchable than ever
Lmao 'Imrik even more punchable than ever' Rarely have I heard such a truer statement online. When I recorded these, it was actually my first time seeing them, and pretty much the second I finished watching them all I knew I had to makenthe video ASAP
The elves ate so good here. All of them say so much about their characters with no words necessary. Tretch with that verminous valor on full display, too. But Alarielle. Oh Alarielle, she needed it more than anyone else. So happy for her.
Fun fact: Lokhir Fellheart’s intro animation was actually for the Red Duke who had it since early WH2 or even since WH1, so CA technically had everything done for the Red Duke to become a full fledged LL(other than items and quest battles but yeah)
That's a neat bit of trivia. It's honestly astounded me how CA hasn't done anything with the Red Duke. I mean, the guy pretty much has his own model, his own faction, and unique skills (I think?) Just strap a free-LC tag to him, make up a couple of unique mechanics and BOOM! Content.
@@vicsvinny8123 he has a few skills yes, and his El Syf ability(which is actually good) was intended to be a "weapon" ability. If they finally do release him as a playable LL they should give him dual weapons because he had a mace and sword in the lore(i think)
So many comments are expressing how much they'll miss that! I have a video of the High Elves with their old animations still, if anyone needs their she-elf WAAAGH! Fix
No new animation for my man Khatep. I really wish they had him performing a ritual surrounded by liche priests or something. Not just making a little dust devil in a room alone.
@@vicsvinny8123 Yeah, Queek and Skrolk as well don't have anything new, same for Franz and like, everything in the Vampire Counts, Beastmen too. At least Taurox has a cool lord select screen.
Ah yes, no new intro for Khatep because Great King, the Imperishable, Khemrikhara, The Great King of Nehekhara, King of Kings, Opener of the Way, Wielder of the Divine Flame, Punisher of Nomads, The Great Unifier, Commander of the Golden Legion, Sacred of Appearance, Bringer of Light, Father of Hawks, Builder of Cities, Protector of the Two Worlds, Keeper of the Hours, Chosen of Ptra, High Steward of the Horizon, Sailor of the Great Vitae, Sentinel of the Two Realms, The Undisputed, Begetter of the Begat, Scourge of the Faithless, Carrion-feeder, First of the Charnel Valley, Rider of the Sacred Chariot, Vanquisher of Vermin, Champion of the Death Arena, Mighty Lion of the Infinite Desert, Emperor of the Shifting Sands, He Who Holds The Sceptre, Great Hawk Of The Heavens, Arch-Sultan of Atalan, Waker of the Hierotitan, Monarch of the Sky, Majestic Emperor of the Shifting Sands, Champion of the Desert Gods, Breaker of the Ogre Clans, Builder of the Great Pyramid, Terror of the Living, Master of the Never-Ending Horizon, Master of the Necropolises, Taker of Souls, Tyrant to the Foolish, Bearer of Ptra's Holy Blade, Scion of Usirian, Scion of Nehek, The Great, Chaser of Nightmares, Keeper of the Royal Herat, Founder of the Mortuary Cult, Banisher of the Grand Hierophant, High Lord Admiral of the Deathfleets, Guardian of the Charnal Pass, Tamer of the Liche King, Unliving Jackal Lord, Dismisser of the Warrior Queen, Charioteer of the Gods, He Who Does Not Serve, Slayer off Reddittras, Scarab Purger, Favoured of Usirian, Player of the Great Game, Liberator of Life, Lord Sand, Wrangler of Scorpions, Emperor of the Dunes, Eternal Sovereign of Khemri's Legions, Seneschal of the Great Sandy Desert, Curserer of the Living, Regent of the Eastern Mountains, Warden of the Eternal Necropolis, Herald of all Heralds, Caller of the Bitter Wind, God-Tamer, Master of the Mortis River, Guardian of the Dead, Great Keeper of the Obelisks, Deacon of the Ash River, Belated of Wakers, General of the Mighty Frame, Summoner of Sandstorms, Master of all Necrotects, Prince of Dust, Tyrant of Araby, Purger of the Greenskin Breathers, Killer of the False God's Champions, Tyrant of the Gold Dunes, Golden Bone Lord, Avenger of the Dead, Carrion Master, Eternal Warden of Nehek's Lands, Breaker of Djaf's Bonds... and many, many more, said so.
@@Nightmare_52 Alarielle is like the Civ Gandhi of Total War: Warhammer. Supposedly about peace and prosperity between nations, but is so inclined to declare war and nuke you at a moments notice.
You're telling me there isn't a big lush jungle in the Southern Chaos Wastes?? In all seriousness, I expect Oxylotl to get his remaster along with the Beastmen (whenever that happens)
@@vicsvinny8123 That makes some sense, didn't know how they're deciding the order to redo these. I thought they were just knocking out the remaining ones for these respective factions, but your theory makes a lot more sense, I love the lizards so I do hope they reach him. Thx again for the video!
Yes, I've actually already made a video for the High Elves lord selects with the new intros, if you don't mind me plugging another video. I really like these 'remasters' they're doing with the LL's. They're all really well done imo
Ive noticed they removed a ton of random screaming, particularly Aranessa and Allariele, both of them would kinda do a spin, Aanessa does a weird kick, and both just kinda yell at the camera afterwards lmao Tretch Craventail easily wins Most Accurate Depiction of a Legendary Lord in an Intro and i fucking love it
That would be really cool but I wouldn't hold my breath. It'd be kind of a big undertaking, seeing as how many different lords and factions there are. I'd definitely see some talented and dedicated modders taking a crack at it however.
Seeing the track record so far, I'd say that's very likely. At least the lords from the previous games. I doubt Miao Ying and Ku'gath are gonna get remastered intros anytime soon.
Have I got good news for you... If you don't mind me saying, I have a video uploaded in my 'Lord's Selection' playlist of the High Elves with Alarielle's old animation. I ain't taking it down neither.
Major upgrades: -Aranessa: that forward flip is extremely fast past while being easy to follow. -Imrik: while no changes to the scene, the change in lighting is a vast improvement. -Tehenhauin: adding the pile of skaven corpses is a big improvement -Tretch: what can I say, just watch it. -Khalida: I like the full shot of the Court of Lybaras a lot versus the old Downgrades: -Alarielle: Sorry, I'm going to miss that mad but perfectly in tune scream. -Cylostra: Idk it just seems too busy compared to the old one. -Settra: Just an idle roll forward, not tearing ass out of Khemri. Boo. Settra should be demonstrating from his intro that he does not swerve.
I don't get it, I started playing Warhammer 3 only recently, did they remaster the intros? I did notice that some intros looked like straight from Warhammer 2, so did they remade them in WH3 engine?
@@ygorschuma3059 Not every intro received an entirely new scene like with Karl Franz, Tretch or Alarielle, but CA has been going around and remastering these clips. Some are simple facelifts, whilst others are entirely new.
@@EmperorNiko At first it seemed to me that they were holding 2 swords in one hand, but I looked closely for a long time - it’s just a bad angle, but still they are holding 1 sword incorrectly
The rest of Lizards got them, but not the little Chaos-hunting blowdart skink? I was also expecting to see at least an updated background to reflect his starting position. But alas...
I like the addition of his army marching around him. Adding in the actual army into the scene with the leader is always a win for me. I like seeing that stuff.
@@Omega4Productions I'm fairly certain that Lokhir's animation is frame-by-frame the same as the previous clip, they just fixed his mask, added marching dreadspears to the background and added in cinematic lighting and roaring monsters. Same goes for a few other lords in this list too, same animation just different backgrounds and lighting
Settra got served justice in his intro, but Tretch is just too funny when he cowardly enters the door, screams like he was the one, who did all that and then immediately returns to lead from the rear
Settra: Army inspection Tretch: "I DID THIS! IT WAS ME! KILL ALL THINGS!" *Slowly slinks back to the shadows* "Yes-yes. Do Tretch's bidding.. Give him all glory-praise for victory!"
While every other Skaven in this game tries their best to be distinct and go against the grain...Tretch Craventail just doubles down and shows EVERYONE exactly what a Skaven ass Skaven looks like.
Yeah which is weird as he does have access to Crypt Ghouls. But maybe in future and at least you can get them with alliance to the Manchild Von Carstein.
Alarielle's isn't very accurate to her character. I don't see her slaughtering my entire army wielding the Sword of Khaine while I panic-micro in the background.
It'd be cool if she had a unique mercenary mechanic where she can recruit most faction's low-mid tier units with the right conditions. Making a super diverse roster
Settra has to be pretty mad Khalida has a more "I rule everything" intro than him. And frankly a more badass one. (Though in his defense, his own intro is noticeably more martial)
God Alarielle really needed to be redone, I’m glad they finally did it. Now when are the gonna do the DLC factions for Warhammer 1, still waiting on Beastmen and Bretonnia and the rest of the Wood Elves
Does anyone play with an ultrawide monitor? While the game is compatible these intro videos are a bit off-center, as in one side of the video is being hidden by the UI. A minor thing but was wondering if anyone has a fix.
