I have purchased Patchouli essential oil from two different sellers on eBay. Both times the oil was stale and musty smelling and lacked that sweet pungent aroma I expected. I tried making an aromatherapy diffuser and it had almost no smell at all. I have made other AT jars with good results. What is going on??

You might blend oils with vegetable glycerin and 95% alcohol, and then dilute that mix with water. That way you won't get big oil drops in the sprayer's straw (and on your clothes).

Patchouli is a great deodorizer. It has an earthy, balsamic, woodsy smell that is very unique and is a complex aroma. It has been used in perfumery frequently, especially in India where it originated. I use it in my body butters. I have found most people like the smell but there are a few who don't. It is fairly strong so a little goes a long way.

Carolyn Rose actually i have ordered patchouli and cedarwood essential oil and read somewhere that cannot use directly on cloths and body... i want to use it as a body spray ... so what should i use to make them a body spray (alcoholic and non alcoholic both) ....
