Patek’s statement about the actual water resistance of its watches is truly remarkable. I had been hesitant to get a Patek because I was afraid of wearing a watch with only splash-proof water resistance, but now that I know that Patek really means 30 meters, I hope to add one to my collection soon.
Patek Philippe really are one of the master watchmakers... Their pieces have fresh & fun designs... Especially when you look past the Nautilus watches...
Very much enjoyed the presentation, incredible announcement about the rate of accuracy, water resistance 😱 and warranty..👌 W Thanks Alexander and Jorge 👍
I really like that denim strap, very cool additiom Patek. I still don't understand why Patek will change their conventional water resistance rating, but good to know that one can swim with their 30m water reistsance sports watches. Thanks Alexander.
By the way this definition of 30 meter WD does also apply to other brands. Today every serious manufacturer adds/tests a 25% on the guaranteed WD … so with official 30 they test at > 37,5 meters…
The Pateks are beautiful. The 5520RG is amazing. Almost a minute repeater. The 5330G world time is very useful for travelers with the date function. Great job Alex with the presentation.
Wow, some of them are absolutely stunning, the in-line perpetual calendar being my favourite. I already loved the blue dial version! BTW: Omega made a similar claim about water resistance on their watches recently, as far as I know. Saying you could take the Moonwatch on a 50m dive if you'd like to, for example.
I'm not a big fan of PP design language. For me it is a grandpa's brand. The Alarm Timer looks so off with the 4 pushers. Not pleasing at all. The pushers on the Perpetual Calendar just destroying the case. JLC manages it to place them inbetween the lugs, which is so much nicer. Nevertheless thanks for sharing. Always a pleasure watching your videos.
After being in the business for over 30 years I can tell you this happened and happens more often than you might think… Today… believe me with all these so “cool”, “fancy” & “celebrated”, naiv influencers this is a REAL threat… and here we talk about values…
@@WatchAdvisor I believe that it happens, what I'm saying is that it's pathetic that a movement at this price point isn't robust. That's a very bad look for Patek.
@@a004 Rolex is in line with Patek Philippe and doesn’t provide watches with functional movements either …. and don’t forget Patek Philippe calibres are a bit more complicated…
I like that 5396G-017, boy that name just rolls off the tongue, but that is a really nice execution of diamonds on a man's watch. Other than that I'm kind of underwhelmed. Nothing that's really remarkable, but very nice all the same. Shame you didn't get more time with them, your reviews are so good but I know it just worked out that way. Oh I forgot to mention, I quite like the 4 crown/pusher travel time alarm, just not that particular dial. I like the symmetry of it and the complications are extremely useful.
@@Ossory88 Facts are facts… you simply can’t compare the two brands… no way! There are light years in between…. But emotional is if someone wants to wear a Grand Seiko instead because he thinks it is a better watch…
@@WatchAdvisoryeah but according to you, this all doesn't matter because it is only emotion. What is this "light years ahead" if "tastes are different" ?
Apparently you don’t understand me and/or don’t want to understand me and/or you want to argue things I don’t understand… What we discussed was something completely different… You didn’t understand why Hublot charges so much for that one watch and compared it to a Ferrari… But here we have a little misunderstanding about who is who… Grand Seiko will NEVER be Patek Philippe… even then when they charge more for their watches… Never mind!
