I love the 5960! I owned one (platinum w/ gray dial). I was an amazing piece and extremely legible.

Yeah. That case has so many smooth transitions and high polish surfaces it almost indecent. " Parental guidance is suggested". Lol love it. Thanks for the wake up Tim

Patek discontinued this model in ‘17 and then launched the white gold version with the calf skin strap and clevis style buckle. That too is an amazing watch. I think they discontinued even that this year. Very short runs for the steel and white gold. You’ll have to get it from the used market. But I think the rarest of all the 5960’s was the black dial & steel one. I think it was available only for year or more. That’s the rarest. If anyone has that, hold on to it! It’s more precious than gold. This watch as Tim suggested has so much going for it in terms of complications and style. Except for the 30m of water resistance. If it were 100m like all ROLEX models, ( except Cellini models )this would be the best Sports watch ever made👌🏻. Great review Tim. You truly are the best👍🏻 Regards, Hisham.

the rarest is the black dial, but honestly the white silver opaline dial pops, it's hard to see the date with black date window dials on the black dial as well. They are both rare enough.

Great review! I own this watch along with the Aquanaut 5167A and the Nautilus 5712 and for how positively people talk about this model, it has barely appreciated when compared to other models. I'm curious about why that may be.

The monocounter at 6 chrono layout is so cool, I wish some more attainable brand copied it.

One of my two favorite Patek Philippes ever made. If only I was born wealthy instead of incredibly good looking.😉

There are Aquanaut chronographs out there with an asking price DOUBLE that of this watch. Mind boggling.

@@ErnestHemingwayJr Could be that the Aquanaut chronograph has better reliability.

Does PP think pin sleeves are a selling point, because it’s less expensive than screws? You don’t purchase this watch if you’re concerned about saving anything, in this price range. It’s a hot watch regardless.

As thick as GS yet the swiss get away with it
@JA-oi4vj
@JA-oi4vj Год назад
really? Show me a GS that has annual calendar, chrono, daynight indicator and power reserve (so all the complications) at this thickness, which is less thicker than alot of sport rolexes....

@@JA-oi4vj Umm... the Rolex Submariner is 13mm thick, this Patek is 13.7mm. Anyway I will let that last stupid comment slide, you are not a fan of overall fit or of sports watches in general obviously. The Seiko 7016 flyback chronograph is the closest to the list you gave, it was at the time back in the 1970s the most advanced and thinnest auto chrono movement made until 1987 when Piguet overtook it. But they are not the brand they were back then. This silly brick of a watch does look nice though, and has loads of complications. Woo hoo.
