I wonder how much it cost Patek to produce this watch.. honestly I don’t hate it, but I really don’t like it. You hit the nail on the head about this looking more like a 2K watch. Keep it up brother!
I think this is a great piece and could potentially be a platform for future, more sporty, calatravas. It has the same case as the 6006, but improves dramatically on the ridiculously small hands of that piece. However I agree that the crystal at the back with print on it is utterly annoying. And I also dislike the fact that didn’t use a micro rotor caliber like in the 6006.
I know it’s very subjective but I can’t see what the fuss is about when it comes to the Aquanaut and Nautilus. They go for stupid money second-hand and there are literally hundreds of them for sale. This new piece, is like you say, very plain and underwhelming, especially when compared to the 6006 which has a very similar case and feel to it yet manages to look interesting and classy.
You show this watch to anyone who is not a watch freak- a mechanical engineer, a doctor, a programmer etc.. they will all yell you that it looks like a $400 watch.
