Must say guys absolutely loving this video podcast really good great information on bikes, maintenance, sales and just general chit chat.. keep up the good work guys maybe be a full bike review on the trails with you guys testing different E-bikes ?
as a bosch owner, the supply looks steady given all of the bikes on this motor use the same battery. In the event of obsolescence id buy a couple and ride till they die. proprietary batteries sound scary.
@@sety409 - batteries start going bad the day they leave the factory so you will eventually have a bike with no batteries. Disposable bikes does not sound like a good idea.
@@sety409Agreed. If you buy from a reputable brand, batteries are not a problem… not cheap, but not a problem. I own a Trek Powerfly FS4 and Bosch batteries have not changed in years. I just ordered an additional battery for a long road trip coming up in July.
@@MrDschubba - I work in the energy sector and know eventually batteries go bad. If you can't get a replacement you're screwed. Which is my point. BTW distance traveled mean nothing to batteries. Charge/discharge cycles and temperature is what affects batteries.
Imagine a handlebar that has discreetly flush mounted led lights for your emtb battery strength, a light to reflect different mode settings, and a power button just off to the side of the stem. Then, imagine it on a bike that’s already discreet and doesn’t look like an emtb, like a trek exe / pivot shuttle / heckler sl It would eliminate the need to design a frame to fit a “display” unit, which might free up frame designers and engineers to have more room to work with, make stealthier looking frames, and improve the ability for them to build a lighter and stronger frame Think of a high end bmw “m” sport / race steering wheel but for a bike (and like the m steering wheel, you can have the leds on the cockpit also change according to your power output or the motors power output or your cadence like the steering wheel does with rpm ) I would love to see stuff like this more and more! Perhaps I should patent this lol?
While I like the idea from a design perspective but to cut open a bar which is a high stress component already does not sound promising from a safety perspective. I guess that is why the McLaren bike has such a monstrous bar. In addition people tend to replace their bars to optimize their body position which would get a lot more expensive adding electronic components to it besides the hustle to get cables through a headset. Would look great though.
Imagine a bike with the master cylinders for the brakes inside the handlebars. SRAM patented this last year (edit: 2020) Seems like the future of handlebars are going to get crowded!
Hmmm you can just buy a new motor. My out of warranty Bosch Gen 4 went down 4 days before xmas eve. Took it into the shop next day for a diagnostic check. Verdict dead, so oredered a new one through the shop for about £650. Shop said dont expect to see it until sometime in the new year. Xmas eve morning got a call to say me replacement motor had arrived, which because Id bought it came with its own 2 year warranty.
Not patentable, not copyrightable. Nothing "functional" is protected by copyright law. As a bike computer and handlebars both serve a function, neither are copyrightable. The only thing copyrightable would be the logos, the distinct look (brand color schemes). Patents are for inventions. You can receive protections for functional elements with a patent for 20 years. Its a way for the government to protect an inventors ideas and give the inventor time ti make competitive products from their invention. A perfect modern example of this is SawStop, who still holds a patent on finger saving technology for table saws. This only fans model invented nothing with her patent submission and she will not receive a full patent. She has been given a provisional patent, which is given to everyone who submits something to be patented. It isnt until the patent is reviewed by the patent office that an actual patent is given. Seeing as there is nothing invented here, just two things merged together, a patent will not be given. If there is some invention somewhere inside what she made, only that invention will receive protection, not the whole system. Even with SawStop their patents are running out. They are now trying to lobby the government to force every company to license their technology by forcing every saw to have their tech. And in the wording they are requiring the companies to license from them for the next 10 years. They are doing this because in 5 years any company can freely use SawStop's patents (enough of them to implement a system). But if SawStop can pass legislation, they get all the licensing rights for the next 10 years, for the entire table saw industry...
I don't see that this patent application has resulted in a granted application. So if she never gets the patent, anyone can copy her design, as the application itself, constitutes prior art. She can only claim priority if the patent is granted. She filed in 2021, and three years for an exam of a relatively simple invention seems long. Perhaps she has encountered some third party opposition (competitors writing to the patent office claiming that her invention is not new or ingenious enough to warrant a patent).
It looks as though both McLaren and Mercedes didnt so their due diligence on the company that was licensing the brands. They should consider revoking those relationships asap
To be granted to Patent, the product must be proved to be new or inventive in relation to what is already out in the public domain, whether it’s patented or not. I don’t know the date that she filed her patent application, but maybe it was sometime ago before displays were really a thing. It is also worth noting that a patent can be country specific or European specific or even rest of world specific. Application costs go up dependent on the regions covered.
I would have thought with consumer rights in the the uk you would have a claim if your motor went after the two year warranty period, products have to be fit for purpose, is an £8000 e-bike fit for purpose if the motor doesn't work after two years
That patent wont hold up. Its still pending, there are already things like it on the market. Patents are for inventions. Nothing was invented here. Simply merging two items already in existence, is not an invention. As far as a copyright goes, a bike computer is functional, so are handlebars. No one can claim a copyright on functional elements, the court will not stand for it and will throw it out. If bike computers were patentable, Garmin or someone else would be the sole maker until the patent protections wore off. A great modern example of this is SawStop. The only maker of "affordable" table saws with finger saving technology inside. The patents on bike handlebars ran out 100+ years ago, if they were even awarded. Bike computers are not patentable as they are assemblages of parts that serve a function, and are already ubiquitous. As such, this only fan is rendered moot, like the others.
Provisional patents are just that, provisional. All this girl is doing is ringing a bell for everyone already making what shes trying to pattent to submit a dispute over the patent. Patents are for inventions. What did this onlyfans model invent?
Pedals at Beccles had a Nduro 8 2023 spec for £3999 with Ohlins front fork So wanted it but couldn’t use a c2w voucher as who I work for only use Halfords, Tredz and Evan’s So so tragic
A patent pending is absolutely worthless and given there submitted patent its unlikely to ever be granted looking at it.sadly she hasn't got a case and if she wants to tackle it she will need to do a lot more adult content as it would be extremely costly .
Lol they make a wave scooter! Nothing tells surfers you're a kook like handlebars on your board... Theres also a much better gas burning powered surf board in existence. Basically a surf board with a jetski inside, infinitley more fun than riding a water foil. How many wakeboarders exist vs air-chair riders?
120kg is a lot! Its 264lbs... I'm a 6'2" overweight viking and only weigh 204lbs (92.72kg). Im carying 53lbs of pure fat (24kg), thats 26.5% body fat. I consider myself horribly overweight. I broke my back last year and am trying to figure out the new me. I cant walk long distances anymore, but i can ride a bike! I'm actually pretty happy where im @. Im up to 30 mile rides after a couple weeks. I have 0 back pain. I am realizing riding a bike is better for burning calories than my old walking program (20-30,000 steps a day) and im getting much better workout details coming off my garmin bike computer.

@@brandonhoffman4712 120kg is on the lower side of the spectrum, so you are on the limit of the total permitted weight, whereas other bike brands have 130-150kg total permitted weights(bike, rider and equipment included). But if you have no issues regarding bike rigidity, then ok by me
Some are 150kg limit. Which is good for me being 114kg and the weight of the bike is 27kg, most of their bikes I would of been over the combined weight limit
Its complete Bull! If to even get a'Patent it needs to have " technical hight" a function and never to be seen published or writen anywhere ever, they could Design protect it if no one ells never done it, and that protection is Exactly what your text and blueprint shows, need like several dif, blueprints covering smal differences in the design, and thats a'Patent Complete Djungel. I Have a'Patent so gone thrue al that, and then you need patents in every Country exept EU that Patent covers al countrys, and you need to pay for every Country, going to cost millions!
Awesome Mclaren = Concept to production by talented engineers who care about the details. Rubbish Mclaren = Concept by marketing dept, driven by management who don't care about engineering, only ROE and built as cheaply as possible.
The best thing about all patents is that they bluff people by preventing others making the same mistakes. All patents are crap. Just build it better and market it better than anyone else. E=Mtb²
That patent is so dead n+ is just blocking the onlyfans lady like the troll she is. While positioning its legal department to submit a complaint on the onlyfans ladies pending patetent. It will be very hard for the patent office to agree to drawings while holding a competing device already made in their hands. Imagine giving a patent on the tech inside a radio based on drawings, while holding a competitors working radio in your hand...
👍Nice that there are inventive people, who have the ability to develop things out of all purposes, but Bicycle handlebars with integrated screens that are made for "screen grabbers" and not for cyclists, is as stupid as legalizing drunk driving 😂Why is it illegal to mix with your phone when you are drivning your car🤔🤔🤔 Is it because you acts like a Zombie when you walks and mixing with your phone😁.
Guys I'm sorry but you really need to up your game here and ADD TIMEDTAMPS TO YOUR VIDEOS for each of the specific topics you are discussing. Until you do that I doubt all of your current or potential subscribers going to sit through these podcasts.
