Take a look into what it takes to bring a massive action role-playing game like Path Of Exile 2 onto console in this extended gameplay trailer. #pathofexile2 #poe2 #ggg
Yeah, I really didn't enjoy having to learn all the various terminologies and having to Google how those stats and effects work with each other Inquisitor Martyr. Never felt like I had such a problem in Diablo 3, though.
2:22 This is what it's about, it's the passion that gives birth to these types of ideas. Game companies keep trying safe things instead of experimenting. I know that this type of gameplay isn't new, but I really wouldn't have expected it in a game like poe, we'll see how it goes though, maybe it'll be really good!
You are an npc that can't tell marketing hype from a sales person from.. anything else. ggg is not good at making games. they're good at making hype and paying shills.
@@TreyChannel whats funny is that diablo 3 has couch coop but they removed it from the pc version... it probably took them more effort to remove it than let pc gamers use it
Crossplay and Cross progress is HUGE for us PoE console players. I'm not sure how well the twin stick ssytem will work though, you use your right thumb to cast spells... you can't do that if you're using your right stick to aim too *shrugs* Hopefully twin stick is an options toggle like PC will be able to toggle between point and click/WASD
Dodge rolling with the right stick would be better but then there will be no walking back and attacking...🤔 maybe a lock on button to put you in that stance of walking backwards.
will PC have controller support? I can play a game like this on mouse/keyboard, but much prefer controller in most games that don't require first person aiming.
I am concerned about some changes made, but this one definitely looks cool. More means to play the game means more people will enjoy it, which is almost always a good thing. Could even convince some of my friends.
@@TehGM Which changes are you concerned about? I realise I am not the target audience for the second game, it targets more casual players. From that viewpoint, every change they made makes sense so far to me.
@@MrMokey24 Yeah, I think that might be it - a more casual game. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing ofc, but it's not exactly what I associate PoE with, hence my concerns.
@@rbwbr ppl like you is why we don't have it more- I have my PC connected to a TV as well and it's so lame I can co-op on D4 on console but not my PC with a 4090 on it.
@ArnoldMejia Well, you're the EXTREME minority and there is barely non-zero demand for it. PCs were NEVER meant for Couch coop, you want it, you get a console. Stop blaming people and get with reality.
@@sarkaztik3228 There's been a push home theater PCs forever, have you hear of Linus, from Linus Tech Tips? A lot learned from his set ups. The attitude of people to defend companies to offer less options never ceases to amaze and seems to increase in console/Apple circles. We can't even LAN party most games nowadays and even console games don't support 4box like Golden Eye or Halo used to.
@@DerKiller1982 micros are optional as far as I'm concerned, so free is better especially when you can have it on multiple platforms and transfer your progression.
@@DerKiller1982 No Micro Transactions would mean no steady income for them, meaning no continuous content updates, noone works for free, if POE 1 didnt had Micros it would have stopped recieving updates 6 years ago or more.
D3 played way better with controller as POE1 did, but this one seems to be pretty nice on controller. So as a D4 fan, im looking forward to test this game out.
@@SnowTerebi Mostly are on MTX, apart from really some rare cases of robes that cover the leg area and some leather armor, but most of the body armor are like the chest piece, that always bothered me a bit, but hey, the armors are looking neat
I'm mainly a PC player but do own consoles. One thing I always love is crossplay and cross progression. I am sooo happy you guys are making this happen in PoE 2 because it is missing in PoE 1. The tips all over the game as well is perfect. This is what people want who are new to the game. If you can somehow get some type of "Build guide" also built in the game, then we are almost golden. Thank you Grinding Gear Games for advancing the ARPG genre by leaps.
@@mcgruber What's the reason? I'm curious what it can be. Something to do with keeping people from using the same builds(which will happen in a way anyway)?
@@kanon1118you are in the comment section of a PoE video. PoE = best game ever from a Studio that cannot do wrong, Diablo IV = literally the worst thing in existence and Blizzard has never been good. It's the law. There is no in between. There are no facts. Only PoE>DIV
I think I get how right stick works now and still allowing skills to be used. While using left stick you use the right pad and while using the right stick you use directional buttons. That makes so much more sense now. Plus L2 and R2 to access an additional 12 skills
"Most games" what? Most games literally can't function with couch co-op nowadays due to their design. (Especially if the game isn't co-op) Even back when Couch co-op was big, most games didn't have it. Most were single player or competitive. It should be more common, but nowhere near most games can make use of it.
@@sarkaztik3228 I used to take my console round my mates and we played Red Alert on two TVs. That was the golden age. Goldeneye 64, CnC, FutureCop LAPD, PES, Perfect Dark. Nintendo Switch does couch co-op perfectly with mario, mario kart, mario party etc. So don't tell me they can't when they blatantly can but it comes down to costs and time.
incredible news! Steam Deck users, like myself, love this addition! Tbh, I wasn't sure I would play PoEII because of no controller functionality, but now I definitely am!
This is amazing! If the team see’s this, the only extra thing some of us ask you to add is the ability to use m&kb on console to give us as many options as possible. Controller stick drift issues make having the option nice 😂
@@Shaltinanwenor If they decrease the complexity the game is gonna be more accessible, no ? Anyway, I was so confused when I got to the end of PoE1 campaign, didn't know what to do anymore... They can decrease or improve what they want but they really have to make the endgame more accessible !
Honestly, couch co-op is huge. Sitting side-to-side with a friend, some snacks and some beers and playing together is something we must not leave behind
@@MyZ001can you elaborate on the objectively part? I'm not a gtaphics expert and I personally like more how PoE 2 looks, but open to learning more about how to measure these things
@@07vlas unless you watch actual gameplay footage from streamers. These are polished and edited clips, the very same GGG/Tencent use for a year. If you compare the actual footage, Diablo again wins over PoE like in the past. Animations are better in D4 too
@@canisinumbra Eeem no...? Every actual PoE2 footage is extremly better than actual D4 footage, like everything is better: graphics, style, animations, lights, details. Even now in POE1 at least style/lights/some effects better than in a D4!!
After I got out of the Navy, I never thought I'd do couch co-op again. And now I have two little kids who are learning to really love playing games with their daddy, and suddenly couch co-op is an *enormous* selling point for me. Thank you all so much!
I occasionally play the original poe on console and when it comes to combat the thing I find the most troubling is using abilities that target the ground at precise coordinate. I find the melee attacks work well enough and kiting with projectiles was particularly intuitive on controller but you cant be very precise at all when you are trying to plant an AoE on the ground. The auto-targetting does a valiant effort of placing AoEs for you but there will always be situations where you want very fine control of your AoEs. I've never really seen a real-time action game come up with console controls for ground targeted AoEs that feels as quick as intuitive as clicking a location on your mouse.
An amazing decision! To make a game this accessible is such an integral core for video games found missing in this day and age. Playing together with very little obstacles makes this an awesome quality of life for the collaborative nuance of having fun together. I am really looking forward to this! 💅🏾✨
Hopefully they finally made adequate gamepad controls. However, apparently here as in the first part, the character feels somehow slow, sluggish, after a while does what you tell him.
Really love the dual sticks controls for movement and directions.. just wonder how to press skills when the thumb is controlling the movement + directions.. really look forward to this game so i gotta prepare myself
Lots of good stuff in there. I just hope the buttons are able to be changed, using the d-pad for skills is not ideal. It's like taking your hand off your mouse to use a skill, you end up having to stand still.
