/ nl_kripp A small chapter in my quest to prove the worthlessness of Exalted & Eternal Orbs! The spelling error in the title is a result of my rage. Rate, comment, and subscribe!
I really wish he would start playing PoE regularly again. I know he's played it too much to enjoy it anymore but I wish I could just wipe his memory somehow. or maybe the new few-day leagues will be interesting for him
You wouldn't believe how much I agree with you man. I miss the old days so god damn much. Been rewatching his old poe streams for a couple of days now.
nictimus The problem is that it is completely random, and since you want several good mods on an item , chances of getting them, with good values, are almost non-existant. Alching white items is probably the only method that won't drain all your currency on an item which you probably won't ever create.
omg why waste SO much currency just to max some damn resists, u couldve just bought another super-amazing item with all those which cappes the fuck out of your resists :D
Strong currency sinks are a good thing, other games could learn from this. That armour is already up there with the best ES pieces in the league and he only spent a fraction of his wealth trying to boost it even further in the specific area he wanted. Having the crafting being luck based is brutal sometimes as we just saw but he's dealing at the extreme top of the economy and he's well into diminishing returns to improve his gear further.
LIFE REGEN! xD You should have DOUBLE imprinted it, imprinted it with Rarity, so you can always go back to state of either + VERY nic rarity bonus, or back to before that, so 2 imprints... You can do this right? have several imprints of same item? :D
make your own char. don't follow like the sheep. just play and enjoy bro. its worth the mystery. Plus you are going to die. Don't get attached to the char. think of it like this. Make your own build because its getting deleted anyway at somepoint. If it is your first char I highly doubt you will make it past merci act 3 into maps.
at least he isnt hoarding tens of billions of gold and flipping items out of the reach of regular players. which reminds me ... i havent said "fuck d3" today.
thats whats gonna kill poe for good eventually ... not only are the curr. droprates way too low, its also absolutely nonsense to try to craft something
well i have not played poe since beta before a3 was released . so i cannot speak of the updated client but what i am basically saying is that it sux that people have become so greedy about cash and followed every chinese virtual farmers idea of selling virtual items for real cash for me this is bizarre since most of times one have already purchased the game once and should not need to continue paying to play the game at it's maximum capacity that one is entitled. basicly we get tricked.
i wasted 97 fusings once... that i worked on getting them for 10 months in closed beta those were are my fusing and guess what i ended up with... no link when this is rough but still it did grow up my expection and the playing for 10 months to achive nothing was still fun but the big part after the fusing wasted i went out the first rare mob i killed dropped a better item and a 6 link on it so yea... the luck does have its moments of fun
I never said that I did that, and I don't. But I do watch his stream when he goes off line and when he comes one, and those are the times that he's in his stash the most (usually), and I do have a decent memory for numbers and I compulsively count things, oddly enough. I would notice if he suddenly got 2 stacks of alts over night. I do have a very decent idea of what his currency tab looks like.
of course, if you have the best CI chestpiece in the game and its missing a prefix, its obviously useless to eternal/exalt it because you can just trade for a better chest piece than your best in the league chestpiece and of course its useless to throw random alchs/transmutes on white items for slots you have very bad stuff for and on top of that, wheres the difference between a self regulating orb economy and an ever inflating gold economy? lol how come people dont understand this cunning logic
go play wow then...or get a brain arpgs=games were a good chunk of the fun comes from obtaining the best items, now if the best items wouldnt be random and on top of that craftable everyone would get them if they invested enough time ( like mmos ) on the flipside if the craftable stuff wasnt random but also not the best possible, crafting would become useless (again like mmos, where weapon/armorcrafting really only is useful for the first few weeks after a patch/expansion)
Life itself is unfair many times, why would One seek enjoyment in a game thats just as unfair? And dont come with this bullshit that crafting is not meant for casuals! I didn't play Diablo 2 on casual level and also didn't plan to play PoE casually either. Still, Diablo 2 remained fun but PoE was just punishing.
not only that PoE has a lot of counter intuitive systems in place that are clearly there only because of bad design choices. I am however positive that GGG will eventually come around and clean up their mess of a game because it has a lot of potential but right now its just a mess of 10 year old mechanics that has not aged well.
Regardless of your gear level crafting in this game is worthless. When you can get better items just through trading. It's no better than D3, except you have to browse a forum to get gear instead of an AH. Still waiting on a game that will just let me play self found and not feel gimped at the same time.
It's why I would say, for casuals, always use currency as currency to buy good gear; the people who should be really crafting are people who play enough to never bankrupt themselves. It's a lesson I've learned, many times now, the hard way: crafting in these games is never cost effective for casuals.
I have 8 chars between 75 and 85 in HC/onslaught (all alive). I wouldnt consider myself a casual player. However your nonsensical statement didnt even try to make a point, so not sure what to answer really (besides crafting needs to be more rewarding)....
and it does not need to be big and I really truly hope it does not get big because we can clearly see what success does to a game company such as Blizz north to Activision-Blizz they sell there soul for profit and end up creating a mediocre heartless game.
Cybrix seriously makes the quality of your stream so much less than it is when he's not in your mumble. I'm not saying this 'cause it's cool to bag on him, it literally causes me to not watch your stream if he's there and i'm sure i'm not the only one.
He's aiming for a near-perfect item, and has to spend a lot of currency on it - nothing wrong with that. Your normal casual would be more then happy with a 540 ES helmet and wouldn't care if he got an useless stat in his exalted roll.
This video illuminates the double edged sword PoE is swinging around. Currency sinks are good, but pure luck crafting is rough for casuals and drives them away from the game. It would take me months to acquire that much currency, only to blow it in a minute.
Tip: Take only skills for survivability, then when you DON'T die, take some dmg nodes. (this goes especially for HC) I took my 1st dmg node on lvl 40+, and now at lvl 72 I got only 6 dmg nodes and am still raping mobs.
Hey Kripp can u tell me if you use any program on twitch to edit video, like when you use your face full scren and switch to game. i was using fraps and after that render with sony vegas but to heavy to my pc. thx anyway
No, just raise the drop rate of orbs. Simple fix. No need to remove rng. As it is right now it's impossible to craft end game gears playing self found. What you find one exalt like every 100 hours played. It's bullshit.
The rarity of exalts doesn't seem to be linked to its actual usefulness. They are much too rare and so people use them exclusivly as trading items instead of using them. Kind of like how gold works in real life.
If exalts were not so incredibly useful on maps, they had like no use at all in this game... crafting needs to be made much more rewarding or drop rates of rare currencies need to be increased by the power of ten...
The only way that would happen is if there's literally no random element involved and everyone gets the same items. Otherwise there will always be better items for trade. That's just basic logic.
Hmm let me clarify, thats 60-100 divided by 5-7 people a night. And when I quit I had well over 300 in my stash and knew a few people with over 500. I'm talking SC here not HC, we were the top SC players.
How is that the same thing? Kripp streams like 8-10 hours a day minimum for our entertainment. How is that in any way the same thing as a botter or a hacker? Explain the logic, I'm not following.
Of course people upvote this shit now and agree, I was saying like 4 months ago this kind of hardcore luck would eventually harm the game and force people to use RMT or botting.
I agree, but how does this crafting dynamic know you want fire resistance? Other people would want accuracy or stun recovery (hell i know who those would be :P). How would you fix this?
Nope. The normal/hardcore leagues are fine as is. But for casuals such as yourself there should be a separate permanent league with increased orb drop rates. Now THAT would be awesome.
hey guys i wanted to start the game yesterday , but it seemed pretty hard for me , which class is the best one to level or the easiest? and which one is kripp playing?
I stopped playing a while ago, but is this supposed to be a lot now? 3-4 months ago I was spending 2-5 exalted per map we ran. Something like 60-100 exalted a night
