Did this today on my wife’s pathfinder that differential was such a pain. No room but 2 12” extensions and a 3/8” wobble i was able to get the full plug off with better leverage past the crossmember. Again pain.. just no room, got it done. For the rear i removed the spare for more room and better access to fill plug. Thanks for the video.
Couple important things to address. You swapped transmission pan and engine pan, engine oil pan is the bowl looking one on passenger side and tranny pan is driver side, obviously don't drop your tranny oil when you want to change engine oil. On the rear differential you called the fill/overflow hole the drain hole and were surprised when oil didn't come out, it shouldn't lol. Super important, both of those gear oils should be gl-4 for hypoid gears, using standard gear oil is not good for the hypoid gear inside either the transfer case or the differential.
Are you sure it's GL-4? The owner's manual for this car says GL-5. Most GL-5 gear oils you can find are both full synthetic and designed with Hypoid gears in mind.
The front differential is mated with the cvt inside of the transaxle. So, the front diff IS part of the transmission. There is only a separate transfer case and rear differential here.
I would say yes, but for transfer case fluid/oil, Nissan recommends to use conventional fluid. I guess you can use both conventional oil if you want to use same oil for both
Yeah, I have issue with my camera. I thought I made a video, but it was a photo shot only. It should be easy to open. You have enough space to open it. Thanks for watching, please help me subscribe to the channel.
I hope you got somewhere eventually! 😂 If you don't know the trans from the oil pan or where any of the plugs are, why are you making a video? +why on earth do you list threadlocker for an oil change!
