Thank you so much for this. Just finished as Legendary but you saved me hours of replaying to see this ending. I wish it wasn't so complicated and hidden to get.
I agree the first 5 mins can ruin your run with no hinting on what you should do. It's almost goofy how shooting the almost demigod at lvl 1 is the right choice.
@@susaac9755 there is taking risks and being stupidily suicidal, i think shooting a Demon Lord in the face as a mere mortal enter in the second category. And some gods do praise cautiousness and not putting your life under unnecessary risks.

Those that make the effort are those that get results. The crossbow itself might have not done a lot of damage, but it does target the enemies will. Distracts them more. Gets them to be less focused. In the bigger picture that could make the difference in a battle/war even if it means having to be the target. Could as easily lead to a pointless death. Either way, you decide if you try or are a coward that hides under a rock. Does a coward deserve to be in the crosshairs of so many people when they're a god? Makes sense in that light. The choice itself could even reference this.
@@danieljones3606 Look at it this way, you could spend 150 hours playing the game you love so much for each mythic path, or 150 hours trying to find out how to edit everything in Toybox without completely destroying the game for each mythic path.
I can now give you an exact list of all the things that need to be true: - You need to know that she cares for Suture by noticing it in Noct's palace. - You need to have done 5 out the following 7 things: - Accept her crossbow. - Answer to Fake Yaniel the neutral or evil answer. - In Nocticula's Palace, make sure you ask about the power before you accept it. - In the secret part of her laboratory, you need to have passed her test by giving the right answers. - In the laboratory, you need to have picked the favorite toys of her daughter first. (Unknown how to) - In the laboratory, you need to summon something somehow. (Unknown how to) - Reach Mythic Rank 10. - You need to tell her there must be another answer. - You need to have combined the two halves of the codex. - You need to know what the purple knife is. - You need to have at least one fresh Nah crystal and have studied it. - You need to have studied the notes found in the super secret part of her laboratory. - You need to have studied the sword of valor. - You need to save the herald. - You need to have learned from Hepzamirah's ghost that arch priestesses can summon demon lords. - You need to have killed Hepzamirah and the Echo of Deskari, so that Areelu is now the archpriestess of both. - You must have studied the notes found in Pulura's Fall. - And finally... You must have arrived at the final dungeon on the exact right day. This is 15-21 of Gozran (IV) 4717. - After this, you must have two more midnight bolts, and kill Baphomet and Deskari, forever. - If after this you only have one crystal, you ascend. If you have two, you and Areelu ascend. If you have five, you and your companions ascend. If you have six, everyone ascends.
@@incelstar You need the "Key" crystal from the Iz library (North West) and also the "Glass Key" hidden there. If you're not fast enough, the glass key will break.
She's a psychopath, I know it's obvious lol... I looked up what happens to her and if she ascends she gets tired of murdering people so she decided to walk the planes of the multiverse. and if you romance her it's like a toxic tragic relationship where she leaves for months, comes back to stay with her love forever only to leave months later saying she doesn't want to get a desire to kill you....it's pretty sad actually...I know I'll be avoiding a romance with her now, I thought you could change her views, like you can with wenduag, but Camilla is an unfixable broken monster.

The second paragraph for Aivu's ending seems strange to me. It's the same one for the ending where you die. "I go where you go" was her motto... until she decided to go off and do her own thing?
I see it as she is now the one in helm of the adventure's you two get to do, so now its her own adventure, not yours and it mostly leads to you guy trying to find the best cookies cause the leader says so.
I kinda fell in love with her and her silly ways, bummed me right out when I screwed up the ending so I could only walk away or azata sacrifice myself and let the island plug the hole, whilst she was heart broken.
Im so sad i bunged up this ending but im glad i could watch it instead. Maybe one day ill play Azata true ending. I did however get the redeemer queen ending for Nocticula. That was quite cool
I'm so pissed, I worked on trying to find all the stuff for this ending got all of it and the game wont flag that I know that the archpriests can summon their masters because of a glitch. Its official this is the only game that has actually pissed me off this much what the fuck.
@@Lisa-re9bz yeah, I went through and talked to the ghost to learn to hit that flag, I then used my lich power to pull her over to the ziggurat. But when I got there it was her dead body not her ghost. Worst part is I already exhausted her dialog which means I should be chill. I'll probably retry tomorrow.
@@Lisa-re9bz So i fixed it, I restarted and the glitched with good ol goat boy was fixed with a shut down and reload. But after that apparently the game didn't count me as killing Locust boy in Iz, which to be fair I don't think you can beat Iz without killing him... So I used Toybox to debug that issue then beat the game. This entire situation was... something.
I wish you would have highlighted the dialogue choices you made so we could see them. When you just press the associated number we have to guess what was said.
What? Is Pharasma saying that there's a potential conflict in the making with that last statement? War in the heavens? Chaos in heaven? Gee, as if the ground isn't mucky enough already. If that happens, there could be potentially no peace in any of the planes; mortal and immortal. That's the worst outcome to happen with the ascension choice. Interesting though the ascension ending is, it's troublesome. The player will have to constantly check everything in the list is met as the game progress whereas in Kingmaker, the player merely relies on empathy to achieve the secret ending. Of the two, WoTR is less enjoyable. I say this because I've played and finished both games. I was aware of the secret ending when I played WotR but I deemed it not worthwhile to dim my enjoyment of the game by constantly checking and ticking off boxes. I get what I get with my usual progression through the game. WoTR has another flaw. The puzzles. When a companion quest is an inflated puzzle from beginning to end and ended with a 10 minute revelation, fight and decision which creates a reaction of; is that it? WoTR is deeply flawed in gameplay / entertainment / enjoyment and rate less than Kingmaker. It's imo of course.
I strongly disagree with the secret path of WotR being more of a pain than the Kingmaker one. You need to "rely on empathy" along with a lot of time-locked quests and missable content that's INCREDIBLY obtuse. If you miss a secret knowledge check during one of the dungeons, your entire run is absolutely hosed. In addition, the secret ending to Kingmaker is 100% locked behind a Good alignment. It's impossible for a non-good alignment (i've tried). The secret ending of WotR has no such restrictions. It has a couple Path restrictions (Swarm That Walks, Legend, and True Aeon can't do it, but that's kinda obvious given the nature of those paths. The True ending is about embracing your mythic powers, relying on others, and outright violating the natural order. Of course those 3 paths can't do it.) The secret ending of Kingmaker is also a glorified romance quest. Meaning you can't have an ending with a character you like AND the true ending, meanwhile WotR totally lets you do so. Also doing that companion's quest you mentioned can potentially unlock another ending card if you end it a certain way (though doing so blocks you from the "full" secret ending unless you're a Demon or Trickster since you need Areshkagal's blood.) The main problem with WotR's secret ending I'd say is that it needs to be accomplished on a specific date...but technically speaking if you miss that date, you just gotta hang around until the next year. Your entire run isn't hosed because you took too long.
@@kyuven One minor point : you don't need to have good alignment in kingmaker. It opens up an extra dialogue sequence, but it's not needed for the secret ending.
i loved the game UNTIL the end, now i'm tempted to uninstall it after a run that took over 300 hrs: summary, i worked my ass off to melt daeran's heart, & after i was absolutely sure of his love, the very next day, i either have to sacrifice myself (without even a moment to say goodbye) & be rewarded by saving a world & a lover i'll never see again, or else i change absolutely nothing & save no one & the companions ALL go their seperate ways, which insinuates that daeran did too.. wtf? i was literally infuriated beyond belief by my ending (& yes i was azata) PLUS they never ever gave any explanation for why killing areelu didn't close the wound, i mean that WAS the whole friggin reason i even went there to fight her!!! yes, infuriated is what my end made me & i saw almost none of these dialog options after the first stage of the fight with areelu, but with no commentary & no mouse pointer, i honestly can't even tell which ones are being chosen anyway :(
I know it is very late to respond, but, you get the additional dialogue options if you complete two separate secret conditions (which you have barely any indication on how to achieve). 1.) Mama Areelu Approval Points - There are 7 situations in which Areelu is watching you/talking with you and in 5 out of 7 of these situations you have to pick the right choice to impress her (the first choice is in kenabris market square where you have to decide to shoot deskaris instead of running, with literally 0 indicators that this is an important choice) 2.) Secret Secret Secret Research - You have to meet some conditions on the research of your mythic power and visit areelus secret labratory. Use a secret key in areelus lab to unlock the secret labratory and there find the secret window where the secret notes are stashed…
The player is very likely a lesser god considering they have their own realm. And Areelu is definitely more powerful than the near demi-god companions. Not sure what the classification would be but it makes sense.
@@frankfrankfrankfrankfrank considering the KC can singlehandedly bitchslap two demon lords like small kids BEFORE the ascension id say its the same deal as when those demon lords underestimated the KC because he/she was "just a mortal" this "demigod" might well be already stronger than many of the "full fledged" ones
You are lesser then Iomedae. She ONCE was a demi-god but rose to full god status after the death of the god she was Herald towards. You are PROBABLY stronger then Nocticula as she is during the story of Wrath (Though she not long after ascends to full godhood herself.) and especially when working with Areelu since even Pharasma says that combined the two rival her power as a full god. Areelu is PROBABLY full demi-god like yourself or on the edge of it held back by something personal(much like Iomedae held back her own godhood to serve her leader and god until his death) and you seemingly aren't quite a true god yet either, possibly you need to accrue more power and worshippers? But there are plenty of powerful near gods in existence that never step over that line like the Eldest, Empyreal lords, and demon lords.
Some of my companions didnt appear for me as if they had died, so I never found out what happened with them which sucks. I guess game got bugged or something
@@danieljones3606 Regill and Aru, i finished both their questlines too. Camellia left half way into the game and never came back lmao, i never found wolfnir and i killed two others myself, wendu and dwarf mercenary. also i ended up being an independent king which is win in my book
@@jokerthor they go off together to live in a small town and cook their bread together and enjoy a peaceful life. Sometimes visiting the commander and talking about their times together. (Not word for word, but it's the jist)
It didn't seem like any became 'actual gods' they are all proto-demigods functionally with being heralds of a demi-god figure. After all they can't take the run-off power of yourself to become greater then you and you only become a demi-god who is roughly on par with Pharasma when you are combined with the near equal demi-god figure of Areelu(given she had her own mythic power before ascending same as you)
the normal azata path you just become an azata... this is the ascension ending and has nothing to do with azata... as long as you do all the right things thruout the story you can get this ending and become a god.
This is so fucking buggy, I did the Hepzamirah part and it didn't take for some fucking reason, whats the flag for that one if anyone knows I would appreciate it more then you know if someone would tell me
Baphomet in Act 4, Deskari in Act 5 Iz, Nenio quest in Act 5, Deskari in Act 5 final dungeon, Baphomet in final battle, Deskari in final battle. That's 6. Demon and trickster can get even more.
@@villadelfia Sometimes it seams bugged. In my first playthrough for example "Deskari in Act 5 final dungeon" worked, in my second not. Tried it against Nocticula and Shamira, also didn't drop a crystal.
@@MorningzZzombie To be exact, the purple stone knife counts as crystal. So on aeon path you have 5 crystals max while some of paths allow you to get more than 6 if you saved the knife.
@@ShadowoftheMask all paths can now get 6 due to the treasure of the midnight isles by completing each chapters hunt you can get a crystal at the end so now everyone get 6. devils can now get the full ending now.
Toybox Download and install it from Nexusmods. Just do not cheat.. whatever you do do not cheat! Or you will be so disappointed.. youll delete all your saves and start a new game ))) happened to me with 1st one. Well you can turn some cheats for fights that you already cleared to speed things up on reloads. And do not multi-class its kinda bugged.
@@MegaArtManiac How do you do it in toybox? I have it but I don't know where to look to bring up dialogue hidden options. What happens if you cheat and what constitutes cheating as far as what happened to you?
@@MegaArtManiac Well, joke's on me, I only turned the flags option on in toybox, no cheats no nothing, followed a guide to the letter.... aaaand the final convo with areelu went into an infinite loop. Totally hopelessly bugged. FFS Owlcat.
There are only 7 crystals in the game: 2 from Deskari, 2 from Baphomet, 1 from Areshkagal, 1 from Nocticula, and one from the market square at the very beginning of the game. There's no difference between having 6 or having 7, because the game needs to account for the fact that one of those is exclusive to 2 mythic paths and one of the mythic paths involves sacrificing the dagger.
@@kyuven there is now 8 one for just doing the treasure hunt during the campaign unlock at chapter 3 and appears in every chapter onward you can get a crystal at the end of the treasure hunt so now yo can always get 8 and or sometimes you don't even need to go and do Areshkagal's realm.
It's nice to you to record all of this and make it accessible to persons who didn't know this ending exists. That said, I question the fact to call this ending the "true one". Why an ending that has so difficult conditions to be accessible, at the point I doubt it would be even known now without datamining, would be "truer" than the ones most people will see in their normal playthrough, at least when they don't use guides? Especially when this "true" ending is so more different than the ending in the Paizo "legend" canon, who is the base for Pathfinder V2? In short, what name this "true ending", with the sub-text that other endings are "falses" and no "secret ending" or "ascension ending"?
@@hunivan7672 I don't think that going into more godlike power and world-shattering events is something that "pushes" a story. Character motive and evolution, good theatrical coup, entertaining twists and turns, in two words: good writing, his for me that "pushes" a story. And even in this ending was the one who "pushes the story the farthest", why this would make all other ending false in a multi-choice video game or in opposition to the established canon of the tabletop? Why "pushes farthest" and not think like "coherence", "liked by the most", or "better writing"? Personally, I think there is no "true" and "false" ending. Even the Paizo ending is only the "legend ending", created to give a base to their second edition and that any dm can ignore and replace, like all elements in Golarion. There are just different endings and anyone is free to choose the one he prefers and create his own headcanon.
@The Infinity Sock Again, I don't agree with the notion that there is a "true" ending, and by extension that's other endings are "false". It's a multiple-choice game that already differs from the "official canon". Nothing is true or false, everything is a headcanon. In the other ending where your character becomes an exterior, he have already the strength of a half-god (demon lords are half-good and you defeat at least one of them, probably more). At this point, becoming a true half-god is only a matter of time and will, with the benefice that his realm is not to be in the Abyss if he is not a demon. The first DLC is supposed to be an adventure after the main quest where your character "answers the call of a powerful entity to protect the continuum spatial-temporal". It could be Pharasma because it would surprise me if they make for her an artwork (which apparently is expensive) for just one scene, even if she is a major goddess. I don't think you would fight her: she sees PC as a threat only in the most difficult ending to reach (and the less coherent in my opinion) and his a major goddess, so untouchable. But she could be a neutral quest giver, whatever your final path is.
