The problem is... every single one of them has their own agenda unless for some God whatever reason they would put aside their differences and selfish desires. Especially Bachelor
@@LightWavess Bachelor doesn't really have an agenda, he just got thrown into all this by pure coincidence and is just trying to not die if possible, either through plague or the asshat locals
Glad you noticed. It took a LOT of time and care and planning for me to come up with a work method for that. It was aligned to match the first clip, but the rest weren't the same angle, unfortunately.
@@NexusKirin The first one took 86% of all the effort, using lines for perspective and calculating scaling at that distance and angle while lining up the feet right... while the others were copy+pasted with adjustments to the overall motion and totally lazier, haha.
My favorite part of the plague doctor estecic is it worked for all the wrong reasons. The doctors of the day thought the black plague was an air born virus so their outfits would need to be sealed and have respiratory filters. But the wax treated robes and the complete body coverage of the cowl and mask prevented the lice that actually spread the plague from reaching the skin or burrowing into the cloth of the clothing.
Ah yes, the famous "Miasma" theory, which persisted up until the 1860's People couldn't make the connection that drinking literal shit water can cause you harm
They even noticed it, some records mention how the waxed cloak and leather mask prevented the flea bites which actually spread the plague, but they saw that as an extra small bonus since they didn’t know the plague spread by those flea bites
00:00 Bachelor arrives in the Town 00:12 Bachelor receives emergency powers from Governor 00:24 Bachelor and Inquisitor visit the Termitary 00:36 Bachelor, Inquisitor and Commander going to shell the Town
The best part about this is the last frame. All three of them stop, stare at you, and do nothing... Absolutely nothing. Gives me chills, bro. All it needs is some suspense, a prompt telling me how to run, and I'm outta here
@@Nombrenooriginal Pathologic. A plague survival sim that replicates the complexities of human behavior during an outbreak it instead of just tolling numbers. Very... artsy?
@@Nombrenooriginal In a sense. There aren't popes, but there are lots of ideological clashes that are also spurred by wealth differences. People also have very strange beliefs in this game, very riddle-like.
there should of been a part where the health and reputation bars were in the corner, both on about 1, and the plague doctor is just dancing along as a ton of angry townfolk chase him.
I watched Hbomberguys video on Pathologic, not because I'm into pathologic but because I like hbomberguy, and now I'm constantly getting pathologic memes in my recommendations. Can't say I'm complaining
It's been a while since this video came out, but I'd like to nerd out a bit on the area choices. The beginning is obviously the Bridge Square, with the first doctor leaving the Atrium. This is supposed to imply the Bachelor leaving the Stillwater. Next is the southern side road of the Stairway to Heaven in the Chine. It's one of the roads you can pass if you're trying to use both northern bridges to go east. I also chose this area because it's different looking than a bunch of houses like in the last shot. Thirdly, two doctors leave the Abattoir. Since the first two shots possibly establish the Bachelor going east and the Haruspex has a direct connection to the Steppe people within, this can lead to many conclusions that likely result in these two characters being the two doctors. Either the Bachelor met up with the Haruspex, or the Haruspex is pulling the Bachelor out of there before the Bachelor gets totally curb-stomped. Finally, the three doctors walk on a seemingly generic road. This road is located in the Skinners -- it's the long middle road that is north of the Silent House. I wanted a shot that was more houses-focused but also correlating to the Changeling. This road is one of the few that connects to the Rod thanks to all the fences (I hate those fences). Since the Rod is west of this road, the three doctors are walking from west, and the Changeling resides in the Rod often, the third doctor is loosely evidenced to be the Changeling. Of course, there are only three protagonists so you didn't need this knowledge to think they could be. Feel free to assume whatever you want outside of my overthinking though. Perhaps in your head, these three are simply executors getting ready to bird up at the pub. It really doesn't matter.
Hey this got recommended to me. I've always imagined a plague doctor in this game, although the remake or sequel has similar characters to it. Nice job!
I think I sent a response but I don't see it here. tl;dr of that potentially unsent message: Both games have plague doctors, just not in the same way that pop culture portrays them as.
@@ATier87 If you mean the executors, their imagery is only a metaphor for "fate" (which is more like "consequence/doom" in the Pathologics). Their actual jobs are mundane like mail and delivery. The doctors (more than the main three) all fight the plague in their own ways, and serve the actual jobs of "plague doctors". The plague is also manifested as a personified character sometimes so... Point is, the "plague doctor" thing is scattered across many characters. Regarding the actual executor garb, I think both serve their respective purposes in long-term vs short-term symbolism.
As I walk through the steppe town of on gorkon I take a look at my house and realize it's full of red moss Cause I've been trating the desrt sickness so long that even my momma thinks I'm becoming a worm.
I recognize the song and the movement of the plague doctor from that one video of a kid dressed up as a plague doctor strolling along in this exact way😂
“They say I’ve got to learn but nobody’s hear to teach me, But if they can’t understand it, how can they reach me?” Sounds like me bumbling my way through me first playthrough of Pathologic.
I'd like to step back and say that the link to this video contains the words "Yetus" and the link in the description contains "How". All of this is beautiful.
