Hello there, thanks for watching the video and giving the feedback For platelet count we just need 1:20 dilution, so we use WBC pipette (Only in case the platelet counts are very high and you need a greater dilution then you can use rbc pipette and do the calculations accordingly) Now a days instead of these pipettes , the micropipette is used. For 1:20 dilution 380microlitre diluting fluid will be added to 20microlitre of blood sample I hope it is of help . Have a good day 😊

See, the purpose of these pipettes is just dilution, since rbc counts are in milllions so we need to dilute the sample more(we get 1:200 with the rbc pipette), else there will be over crowding and we might not be able to count in chamber For wbcs and platelets 20 times dilution is preferred( we are doing in our set up also)

* Correction @35:21, read HYPERFIBRINOGENEMIA as HYPOFIBRINOGENEMIA in the causes of decreased ESR Fibrinogen is a protein, which if increased in blood causes rbcs to stick together thereby increasing ESR, So HYPERFIBRINOGENEMIA Increases the ESR , while HYPOFIBRINOGENEMIA decreases ESR.
