Dude! Similar story. Amateur triathlete. Suddenly, at death's door with antibiotic resistant pneumonia and a PE. No cause ever found, negative for everything they tested for. My attending physician and follow-up hematology workup said I had zero risk for clotting, and it doesn't make sense because the DVT was negative. Both brought up the vaccine. It is now being accepted as a thing by every day doctors, not just conspiracy websites

Spent 5 days and nights in hospital over New Year's with multiple pulmonary embolisms. In mid-December had clot in leg that was dismissed as "superficial thrombus" and told it would go away in a couple weeks. Unfortunately that didn't happen. I'm 43, and prior to Christmas, I exercised consistently six days per week, an average session of about 90-100 minutes, doing a combination of various cardio, at times intense, (jogging; elliptical; stairs) and weight lifting, hitting each muscle group 1-2x per week. I started back exercising about 5 days ago. It's been rather frustrating, trying to get back to where I was. Right now I'm basically doing about 30 minutes of very light cardio, and twice I've done about 6-10 total sets of VERY light weights. Trying to increase a bit each day. Aiming for a 45 min walk today, and hopefully up to about 3.0 mph. First couple treadmill walks were about 2.0 - 2.5 mph. I am wearing pulse oximeter around my neck, though, and checking frequently (every 5 mins of cardio, or every other set of lifting). I did notice that after a set of weights yesterday I was at 99 for the first time since hospital release. I'm still mostly sitting in mid 90's, but the focus of breathing during weight lifting is incredibly beneficial. Hoping I can get back to where I was in a couple months, but taking it one day at a time.

What a fantastic video, thank you so much! My husband is getting out of the hospital today after a DVT/ PE. His was caused by sedentary lifestyle and he's ready to change that!

Thanks, got several clots in one leg and is now on medication. It has gotten better after a few days but it's a long way until 100%. The inactivity was due to a balance nerve infection attack with vertigo.

I was and still am an extremely fit, slim, healthy runner. At the age of only 36 I developed a freak DVT in my left leg, only risk factor in my case was the Contraceptive Pill because, after many many tests and checks, all other underlying conditions were eliminated. Unfortunately, the blood clot was misdiagnosed for three months by our UK NHS until I could no longer walk, but was eventually treated, albeit, too late because it caused so much damage, not apparent until years later. I had no problems until 15 years later when a small ulcer started to appear. After losing seven years of my life to endless leg ulcer clinic visits, all sorts of lotions, potions and snake oils, and compression bandaging I could take no more. I eventually found a Professor of Phlebology who has specialised vein clinics in the UK. I underwent a Duplex Vein Mapping Scan to identify the damaged veins followed weeks later by EVLT together with Transluminal Occlusion of Perforators p, followed by the necessary eight week gap with Ultrasound Foam Guided Sclerotherapy. Was the best money I ever spent and I have not looked back since 2018. Good riddance to Post Thrombotic Syndrome🙏

Fitness freak here. I will be 36 at the end of the year. I was t-boned by a drunk driver in Dec. 2019.. Fucked me up big time. Thankfully no damage was done to my spine. Anyways, long story short, I have to take blood thinners for the rest of my life. I take 8mg of warfarin plus 81mg aspirin 6 days a week and 6mg warfarin the last day. Inr seems to be hovering around 3. 5 days a week I make myself do 250 squats, 150 push ups and 50 pull ups in UNDER 9 MINUTES. Cool down with another 20 minutes of calisthenics, 5 minutes of stretching and finish with another 50 pullups. Heart rate maxes out around 145. My rhr is around 50bpm atm. Did this while not knowing that I had a le dvt. Never had any pain or immobility which is rare I guess. Started practicing jiu jitsu in 2006. Was told by doctors bc of the risk of head injury not to practice anymore. Life is soooo empty. Went from training 8 times a week to ZERO... I am REALLY starting to consider training again... I might risk death doing something that makes me happy or simply live being miserable... We also have a shortage of info coming from doctors who truly understand the nuances jiu-jitsu... a.k.a. Brazilian jiu jitsu a.k.a. Gracie jiu jitsu. If anyone has any info or questions for me on this matter, please do not hesitate to drop a line.

Hey there, I’m on blood thinners too and was told not to train jui jitsu. I searched all over the web and found it’s normally fine to train and roll if you don’t participate in being thrown or any head banging moves. Getting choked out is fine.

Can't exercise because of Shortness of breath, Anxiety, GE junction Intestinal Metaplasia, Pulmonary nodules, Heart valve problem (MVP), Abnormal irregular heart rate just from slight movement (ex: sitting in a chair to walking to the bathroom heart rate go from 78bpm- 123bpm or a sneeze causing heart rate to go instantly from 78bpm- 160bpm. Hell even DVT or Blood clots in the lungs might be possibly present as well at this point. The most unfortunate 27 year old alive struggling with all of these health issues for almost a year now.

After a blood clot? Does that mean after the blood clot has disappeared or immediately after being diagnosed with a blood clot? It seems as if a lot of moving around might jar a piece of the clot to come loose and travel to the lungs. I'm not sure if I should be taking it easy and just doing light walking around the house or if I should be exercising, like say walking several miles a day which is my customary exercise, along with push-ups and bench dips. 12:15

I have spinal stenosis in L3, L4, L5. Took epidural injections last year and have not had reoccurrence of disabling pain. Had a hip replacement in Jan., PT went well, no issues. Had recent thrombectomy for extensive DVT, thigh into groin and pelvis; small pulmonary embolism in right lung, waiting to see if body gets rid of it. On blood thinner. Have been doing short routines of leg exercises, 3 X per day, only 10 min. Or so. My mom died and I also just stepped aside from work position to less demanding one; all 3 events are affecting energy and motivation. Do not want to take anti depressants. Having to lie on my back with no movement for 8 hrs after my procedure kicked my back pain into gear and I can't take ibuprofen, naproxen, or oral steroids due to blood thinner. Is it safe to try some beginner yoga or pilates or even zumba as I need to get myself back into a routine without hurting my back?

Hi! Can I get some help? I am a physical therapist from Hungary. One of my patient had been diagnosed with pulmonary embolism 3 weeks ago. I have never worked with a patient like that. What can I do for her? She is an elderly women with trouble breathing. She is feeble and can only sit. She takes her medication every day. Now she is at home and her family really want to do something to bring her back on her feet. I think some breathing exercise and leg strengthening while laying the bed would help. I am looking forward to your answers. (Sorry about my bad english.)

i had to go in to hospital. leg was 9/10 pain, and when doctor rolled up pants leg and took off shoe, lower leg and foot was blue/purple and it looked like octopus reaching towards torso. they next day do a surgery to remove clot, but now leg still hurts, muscles feel sore and stretched, and stiff. i do my day as normal, but slower. but still, it hurts. is hurt because of clot, because of surgery, because both? just knows it hurts. is scared to hurt it more, so rarely gets up, but does gentle stretches, and massages soreness. is this good? only gets up for important things, like mealtime, and toilet or shower time.

@MegaRugster 2 года назад
You can exercise, just do it for 30 seconds, then rest, do this for 2-3 minutes at first. Repeat after 5-6 hours for the first few days, increase as you feel you can but don't overdo it. These doctors might mean well but they have no idea what it is like to have had blood clots.
