His voice is both soothing and heart wrenching at the same time. He is so passionate in both lyrics and vocals. I think he's the best singer of all time .... GOAT
I was 13 years old in 1978...I would come home from school (hated it by Jr. high....bullied terribly...was AWFUL) and the Infinity album was my saving grace...my sanctuary...I would go right to my bedroom, put this album on and listen with my headphones full blast...loved Journey then and I still do now...46 years later. The power of music is life changing. ❤❤
What is it about Steve Perry and his voice? After 40+ years, that man's voice still gives me shivers up and down my spine. They don't make voices like his anymore.
What happened to music? These great days are gone forever, but never will the be forgotten. I LOVED listening to Infinity in HS. My girlfriend and I used to listen to the album over and over again while making love 😊 I saw a Journey tribute band years ago, and they sang Patiently. I was so thrilled, I started to weep. The friends I was with saw my emotions and said you ok. I told them that song brought back some precious memories for me, it was a VERY special song. That's the beauty of music, it can take you back to the happier times in our lives when the world was so much simpler.

What a great song for a newly married couple’s first dance-lyrics are perfect for that point in your life. You’d have to be a fairly accomplished dancer to pull off the middle section- and of course this video couldn’t be playing at the same time bc every female’s eyes in the room would only be watching this beautiful young man instead of the couple. SP is absolutely mesmerizing in this performance. It’s so far beyond his physical beauty, the pure white clothing, the range, tone, and phrasing of his one of a kind voice-there’s this soulful, sweet connection with everyone listening…it’s just a perfect, magical package where changing one thing would detract from the whole. I saw Jouney in March 1978 just a month before this performance. They were amazing live. Played 5 encores. And a new band to a lot of us named Van Halen was the opening act.

Beautiful! Had the pleasure of seeing him live in 1982. The early stuff from the first three albums he appeared on were magnificent! Other people have great range like he does. But there is just something about the quality of his voice that is truly otherworldly. The tone, timbre, the phrasing, the pronunciation, the accuracy of his pitch. He is truly one in a million! No one could ever replace his voice in Journey. Ever! No knock against them continuing on with Arnel, but there is only one Steve Perry.

They're all phenomenal musicians and I love all of them and have been a huge fan since 1978. Steve Perry's voice is straight from Heaven and he's one of the best singers of all time. Not to mention he's also a very beautiful man inside and out.
This song is SO BEAUTIFUL I wept watching an amazing Journey tribute band sing it to perfection. I thought I was reliving my 70's and watching Steve sing it again, they sounded so good 😢
This is one of the most beautiful lyrics, Steve's voice..I do believe many babies were conceived over these many years.. still sends shivers up my spine...the best music to the soundtrack of my life.. originally had 8; track... 😂 God I'm old but grateful for this amazing man

Knowing Journey’s reputation of not having a good sound, I bet everyone in the audience was not prepared when they heard Steve open his mouth and sing.
