I heard this in my future husband's anime OP and Ed anime CDs, circa 2000. I'd watched a little Patlabor, sort of absently a while before it. The sounds were already a little nostalgic to our ears, it sounded a bit older even at that point. I didn't know how nostalgic it would become. I can't let go of those CDs, these are the soundtracks of my youth! I'm sure many across the planet feel similarly.

Goddamn I love this franchise. Great music, great concept, beautiful designs, wonderful characters; it's just so much fun. Both films are fuckin near perfect (but I mean they're done by Oshii so there's no way they wouldn't be good)
I remember that and having to wait an hour for 10 minutes of stuff, in addition to if you were doing it on 98 and it would BSOD 2 hours in. XP fixed that thankfully.

I was just looking for this song. I remember this was one of the first Anime shows I was gaga about. I love the drums and keys on this song, really well done. I almost expected Yoko Kano to have been the composer. Either way, in its time this should've been a jam for all the fans! Thanks for the post!

The first Patlabor I ever watched was the one with the final fight in the dark, and it had a much more tame op, but man, when I started watching on Telivision two days ago, this song instantly ingrained itself in my head. What a bop!
And we in Brazil had a portuguese version theme for that as well! As amazing as this one, what is rare in Brazil with anime, we don´t Always translate or localize openings and\or endings...
@@madrugaiden2317 btw if you ever wanna give new anime a shot, id recommend ton the tatami Galaxy, greatest series I've watched in a while by masaaki yuasa, on Netflix in 11 episodes, modern but very standalone and unique compared to modern anime styles

@@CombineWatermelon ive been eating carbo max getting bigger. joining the navy. i lost my gun rights cause i can hold my foot to higher than my head for awhile and do a photoshoot. Doesn't that make me registered weapon? seems that will be waved and i can still join the navy. There's always the bigger guy.
