Patrice Oneal & Colin Quinn w/Jim Norton on The Opie & Anthony show. Some back & forth breaks out when conversation turns to the topic of Tough Crowd's cancellation. [October 14th 2011] Rest in Peace
This episode is a great example of why I miss O&A. Between Opie, Anthony, Jim, the staff over the years, and the regular comics that were on, this show really felt like you were listening to family laugh and/or bicker with each other. Seriously! With all the stories that were told over the years, I legit know more about these guys than some of my actual family members. RIP Patrice and long live Colin.
See, as talented as Ant is, he could let Patrice or whoever be the star once in a while. Howard could never. Which is prime O + A beats the stuffing out of prime Howard, as much as I love Artie.
You really don't know? Cause Colin had the "in" w/out the "funny" & Patrice had the "funny" w/out the "in". Jealous of each other cause they each had what the other one was missing in equal parts of their talents/careers.
@@bengtsson45 tough crowd was his greatest accomplishment. A show where the talents of others was the main attraction. Give me an example of Colins supposed comic genius after 50 years of his illustrious career..
@@knowone11111 Collin has decades of career in American comedy, writing, clubs, and television. Guys like late Patrice O'Neal and Jerry Seinfeld love and respect then guy. Please, tell me what have you achieved?
I remember listening to this live. It was magical. Never would have thought it was the last time I'd hear Patrices voice live. It still chokes me up and I've never gotten emotional about any other celebrity ever. Goddamn I miss Patrice.
@@theflanman1986 yeah it feels so weird. In one podcast Patrice ex girlfriend talked about how he loved Colin but was to shy to express it. And here he even said to his face that he loved him. That was soooo weird for Patrice to express his feelings like that. It was a cosmic way of saying good bye to his mentor.
This is the absolute terminal endpoint of everything O&A was trying to do. It was brutal, it was brilliant and in the end, if you love comedy, it is heartbreaking.
4:14 is the funniest shit ever...lmao! Patrice is a God to me. But, hearing Colin legit break his balls to the point that Patrice can't respond is comedic gold...
25:21 When Colin starts in on Patrice's mustache it's a thing of beauty. He really was the Sinatra of the group to be able to shut down Patrice so expertly.
These two are legend especially when they came together. Tough crowd was great. Thank god some good men uploaded a lot of the episodes. I loved their back and forth on tough crowd.
Man!! It’s 2022 and I still watch tough crowd! AND… it’s still some of the funniest shit ever! It has been a pleasure and an honor to watch all of these guys come up! From my late teens to my 50th. It’s been honestly an absolute pleasure!!
Colin , Patrice and rich Vos all made the O and A the radio version of tough crowd ,I'm not forgetting about Norton or Bob Kelly , imagine if all these guys were just on stage at your home town just busting balls with each other , you would give up anything just for a ticket , between losing the great Patrice and Greg ,you couldn't find a better bunch of guys to have a drink with and just listen to them talk and tell stories , newer comedians are all apologetic and such , not these guys if they had a point to make about any subject ,each one of there opinions would be insightful and funny .
You just want to strangle JImmy when he tries to be the voice of reason but just a moment later he redeems himself with a real gutbuster of a joke. It's fascinating, the duality of this particular mollusk.
So sad that Tough Crowd was canceled. If I was home at 11:30 at night, I was watching that. People who saw the show usually liked the show, but Comedy Central refused to promote it. Patrice was the best.
13:40 - I really honestly and truly hope that people can appreciate how deep that analogy Colin made about Patrice's mom talking to Colin like every well intentioned teacher from Patrice's childhood LMFAO I grew up and went to middle school and high school in the 90s, and I can't tell you how many times I personally witnessed some bad fat black kid's mom come to the school who turns out to be a nice and reasonable woman, while her galoot of a son sands there pouting and gives some half assed apology under the threat of the mom who's just doing her best to keep the kid from embarrassing her. God, Colin really can paint a canvas in 1 sentence or less. RIP Patreeky, and long live Colin.
I'm glad CQ didn't do the interview for the Better Than You Documentary about Patrice. It feels like he never really closed the book on Patrice O'Neal, may his legacy live
I remember feeling a knot in my stomach when i heard patrice died...my father would occasionally ask what was wrong with me for a week after that...i felt like i knew the man and considered him a close friend even though i never met him.... we need him now more than ever...im not a racist but i really wish black people wouldnt give white people the power to offend them....thats what i dont get about all the blm movement, it seems that it isnt only about the unjust shootings of black men, blm protestors rioting because of confederate statues etc. and the american flag has now become a symbol of racism ? Why give white people the power to make you feel insecure, thats a huge limiting factor in personal and cultural growth ? Just be proud of who you are period....I'm a white guy with alot of black friends and its like patrice said we ( black people) dont have that forget about what happened in the past hold up about us, not every black person obviously. Im not a racist, my black friends have let me stay at their places before when i had no where else to live so dont get it twisted
LMAO give me a break buddy. Go listen to Patrice and Nick Dipaolo over race if you think he’s fully on your side. Of course Patrice doesn’t want to look at white PERSON as the oppressor but he understands and said many times how the system is oppressive. In fact Patrice would laugh at your “I’m not racist but..” white guilt shit. Nothing has fundamentally changed here in America regarding cultural differences.
@@ProfessorCDO No he said jews have hitler to hate and we don't have anybody to hate for what's been done to us...he said white people can just hate each other his millions have nothing to do with your millions and we as black people just don't have that let it go in us we weren't born with it, Anthony said yall have to get over that and he agreed...see Patrice was comfortable talking about racism because he was in no way insecure whatsoever...and shut the fuck up you don't know what the fuck he would do what are you his biographer ? I don't give a fuck if he didn't like white people what I loved about the man was his ability to let nothing make him feel uncomfortable in any way...something we all should aspire to including you since you're whining about cultural differences...I think you're definitely the one who would be laughed at for letting it get to you...who the fuck said I have white guilt you fuckin racist ?

Let him finish the story...let him finish the story...let him finish the story...SHUT THE FUCK UP DOPIE!!! Let these comedic geniuses bust each others balls.
Who knew colin was fucking palpatine this whole time i never suspected it the man is brilliant i really thought patrice was the most powerful even though patrice changed my life but listening through colin clips peeled another layer wow
0:19 In case you want it, heres an example of something Opie says thats relevant. He has his times, yes... i just like to point out he was potentially capable
Tough Crowd was a dope ass show tho. The funniest comedians commentating on politics, social issues, random shit. I recently discovered it and it's dope. But without Patrice it's not the same
15:30 "My benefits didn't come through? Where's my benefits!" "This was an entire farce just to say shitty lame jokes. He's full of shit. He had these [the listeners of the radio show] idiots on the phone with bated breath. All he wanted to do was a couple of black guy impressions!" ROFL.
