they are very intelligent people who study there arses off for years to get their qulifications, i'm a nurse so i dont earn anywhere near what a doctor does, but i dont begrudge them that, they have done a hell of alot more study than i have.

it's an estimate? so maybe they round it? as of october 11th the washington post stated "Of the total 655,000 estimated "excess deaths," 601,000 resulted from violence and the rest from disease and other causes, according to the study."

I've given away more than i own, I believe in sharing what you have, not taking it for yourself. That's why i work with many charities, and universities in the uk and america, I havn't "just retired" i've spent my time trying to help others, rather than myself. @bimblefrond Technically you could say that criticism of the report is "subjective." But the criticisms were wide ranging from many countries, organizations, individuals. Much is written on it if you care to look. I don't have time to look, but I know the criticisms were quite significant. The criticisms and the cost were the two biggest reason that the WHO stopped doing the health rankings and will no longer be doing them.

Thats because previously GP's had to pay for the privilege of doing out of hours work! How would you like it if someone told you that you had to work nights and weekends and pay to do it? Youll find that the majority of doctors are opposed to PFI and private company involvement. The Doctors received a pay rise because they raised their performance and met the targets the government set them-the government has since-for the last 5 years behaved very badly, failing to fulfil their obligations.

They still provide night time cover but now get paid for it-unlike previously when they paid to do it. Doctors hours have been "capped" at 55hrs a week as it is dangerous to have people prescribing and operating if they can't concentrate.

Average is actually about £110k. They don't deserve it at all, and just hide behind the might of the frankly bullying BMA.

let's face it Labour has squandered cash on the NHS though ill founded PFI projects and massive amounts of cash to Drs ( GP's included) for no more work. However, if you look at the figures - the MAJORITY of miners participated in the strike (out of the 196,000 miners over 73% went on strike) The met were widly criticised for their brutality at picket lines.

She was one of the worst things toHappen both to the NHS and Government. Her legacy is something to be ashamed over! she was a complete disaster and didn't have the good sense to resign sooner and save some of her dignity.

I know i've worked my life, so i've nothing to be ashamed of. I worked, that's doing something. The majority of this country actually work, accountants, doctors, teachers, solicitors etc. All jobs that don't involve fighting - but involve paying tax. Without these people, society wouldnt run.

I wouldn't want a doctor like that yelling fool treating me. He is overly emotional, rude and not mature. I would have thrown him out on his ear. Rude children are gross. If I rolled my eyes to my boss he would suspend me. I know some places here in the States would punch his face in after work acting like that.

well, there are lots of views as to what is working class, whether it's the kind of job they do, job prospects, education level and accumulation/possible accumulation of wealth. It's really a combination of all of these things and more, and frankly is beyond the scope of this discussion.
