Kanchan Gupta made the most sense and Patricia Mukhim very close and quite justified in her opinions. Jyoti Malhotra needs to sort out her understanding on various issues that she tried to mix. Overall a very sensible talk. And Pleeease, the public knows the conducts of journalists in their communities. The deals, extortion and threats meted out by flashing the press card.

Don't know about judiciary but Indian media especially leftist media is most selective about "freedom of speech"

Hypocrisy is the main reason why left is losing ground. You want freedom of speech and at the same time criticize Republic TV and celebrate Arnab's arrest but will not speak anything about NDTV and their bias. Both the sides are playing dirty games. So do not play victim card where both the sides are equally responsible for this dirty game. I am from Kerala and I can say Asianet is biased to the core nowadays and only showing anti-govt views. Especially about Delhi riots and Farm bill. But the leftist intellectuals in my friend circle will only criticize Republic and they keep supporting Asianet.

A year back in Meghalaya a tribal Khasi man was killed by the so called outsiders' goons with rods, stick, bricks,etc.. And Recently, when these so called outsiders from outside the state instigates communal flare-up when the Meghalaya state has witnessed peace in months. Isn't it ironical and hypocrisy that the same wasn't highlighted nor taken up by Patricia Mukhim with the same zeal...Her voice and opinions seems selective as is expected of her.

We need right to offend in Free speech. We should be able to criticize Islam and Quran, don't need laws against criticism of Hinduism Freedom of speech Indian Govt has shown support to France but shall we stand up for Free speech at home? Even hate speech MUST be protected as free speech. Because who will be the censor? Can we trust Govt ? One person's valid criticism of something might be hate speech for someone else. That can hinder progress of society ( galilio was penalized for speaking against general belief,but was right ). Unless speech incites violence or impedes someone else's Free speech it must be protected. Kanchan Gupta was a breath of fresh air! Absolute clarity of thought, balanced and objective ! Jyoti Malhotra revealed her grudge against Arnab Goswami repeatedly in true The Print tradition, despite Kanchan Gupta's excellent clarification. Free speech should also be responsible speech. Jyoti was arguing for the joker called Kunal Kamra! Patricia certainly has done a yeoman service in bringing to light the brutal and violent action against tribals and the inaction of the Government. She deserves all support. Hope she raises her voice in cases of injustice against ' outsiders' also. She also seems a bit touchy , is extremely Left-leaning and shares Jyoti's animus against Arnab Goswami. Both of them are being hypocritical when they seem to want Arnab to be behind bars for his beliefs and brand of journalism. Dislike is OK. But every individual or channel has the freedom to choose their ideology, though Maharashtra State has brought a reopened case of abetment to suicide against him! Or is it that only the Leftist ideology is permitted?

Patricia Mukhim is a journalist with real integrity. I have huge respect for her. Racism is an issue not only in Meghalaya but in every state of Northeast.

SC needs to grow a thicker skin, it's the apex court of the country after all - what's it doing going around charging people for being satirical or critical.
