A dictator like Gadaffi supported India on Kashmir issue. We need to play our cards right. But as a Bengali it is really heart renching and part of me wishes for a truly secular democracy in Bangladesh.
@@subhamlala813 we Are maintaining a relationship with Taliban for geopolitical reason. Let’s see. Given our situation we have to manage 20 years without any war for India to hit the trillion dollar economy.

*Hopefully nextime Sushant will give the HOST the list of question to be asked in sequence, nothing less nothing more, so as to not disturb the flow....* 🤣🤣🤣
The host can watch - Podcast with Smita Prakash - to know how to conduct an interview. Straight face with a flat affect is not presentable for a video podcast. ORF needs to learn these simple things.
I like Sushant's intelligent to-the-point analysis very much.... As an old teacher who has experienced the 1971 war, I have been following the Bengali messages for the last two years particularly emanating out of Europe.. It is explicit that money was received by jamaat and jehadi radical agents in EU for fromenting if not more before India out campaign in Bangladesh... When it did not work it was diverted to direct action by jehadi students and promoters... When Hasina banned jamaat they went for final kill... Every documents files books on 1971 has been burnt to ashes... All statues books records of Rabindranath Tagore and Mujibur have been destroyed .. all music instrument drama burnt.. actors musicians lynched... Some displays were shameful like shouting with undergarments of Hasina and pissing on father of the nation... Along with loot arson vandalism and killing and hanging deadbodies from trees bridges etc... If you join the dots then it depicts the exact replica of pxtn.. Tlbn etc.. Bharat must become extremely strong handed and deal exactly like pxtn... Keep Bengali translators and keep tag on messages... There is no doubt at all what is happening... Do not neglect...
Mithun ji your analysis is far better than this video. High time for our agencies n foreign policy makers to WAKE UP and play some real chess rather than feeling happy watching their childish memes n reels on Instagram n RU-vid proclaiming them to be modern day Chanayka !
It's just great, the number of tangents you pulled up and your args are convincing. Freaked and amazed by the way you formulate and correlate the dots.🎉🎉👍🏻
What a biased and politically motivated analysis. Mr. Sushant didn't address the years of frustration in BGD people that have been bubbling under the surface due to political oppression, control of media, nepotism, massive corruption and inconsiderate shooting and killing . Just looks like a fearmongering mouthpiece for extreme Indian nationalistic agenda which unfortunately a lot of Indian channels are echoing for clickbait views and less informed or people who have become fearful from the consistent barrage of propaganda are lapping up.
There won’t be any civil war in Pakistan …the awaam has lost its soul and the will to agitate n stand against anarchy ..it’s not part of their DNA to agitate or to put up a fight against atrocities

High quality discussion Podcast. For people in India and particularly Political class, the following questions are relevant:What are the lessons and how can it be prevented.IAC led by Anna Hazare and Kejriwaal movement was handled,in retrospect,by the then PM with adroit and shrewdness. There are serious problems such as Corruption,Amassing of wealth by political class,Unemployment particularly Educated youths, mal governance ,reservation policy, etc that may trigger an upraising.Like to know how these can be tackled.
Long time back I heard US was asking for land to make an US army base in pretence of keeping an eye on China. They asked from S Korea. Got it. They selected a couple of places in India; one in J&K and the other in Arunachal. India denied the request, which I think is the best decision for India's interest. Nobody trusts US nowadays. US would've used India's land to spy on India. US asked the land from Bangladesh. Bangladesh denied. Now possibly US is taking revenge altogether. I am very much interested to understand China's move in the whole of this incident.
no don't read too much from this revolution. We are not giving them a air base here. Even if we do, we will make sure our interest is served first. China will always be our economic partner. We don't trust India until it comes clean and stop interfering our internal matters. We will do business of course but win-win deals. No free ride anymore.
We are heading towards normalcy steadily and gradually, the day the police went to strike, students took charge of maintaining the traffic and locals took charge of law and orders. We love our country, and now the police have joined to work, all offices , banks, and factories are open and functioning...
Glad to see sushant sareen on the orf podcast. I believe this podcast can also become global by getting even foreidn experts whom samir sir also meets while also giving space to indian experts ignoring esp the liberandus
Thank you for unveiling the scenario of Bangladesh. The question is if BNP comes into power in Bangladesh and asks India to return Sheikh Hasina for hearing and judgement for her atrocities will India return back if she stays in India till that time. Or India again try to keep her and raise the great sentiment of Mujibur Rahman among the people of Bangladesh? We know UK,USA has not given Visa to her . We don't know about Saudi & UAE. In this situation Russia will be a best destination for her. Which will again irritate the USA. The USA will again be in fear of the larger alignment of India and Russia.
India can shift her to either UAE or Saudi Arabia. We have a relationship with those nations to get it done. Whatever dispensation emerges in Dhaka, will not be able get her back.
To anyone who isn't Bangladeshi and is looking for genuine answers to a few questions. First of all, I'm a Bangladeshi, currently living in Bangladesh and I am in no way affiliated with any political parties and I hate every single one of them. 1. For the last 15 years, one thing that has been forcefully taken away from us is freedom of speech. Since 2009, not once have one single democratic and free election been held in the country. In 2014, she abolished the interim government rule and presided over the election herself. 98% voting stations had their doors closed and shut with police and Chatra leauge waiting outside with weapons to stop the people from entering. in 2019, the votes were all cast already the previous night. In the digital voting centers, didn't matter if you pressed any other symbol, it only casted the vote to Boat(her symbol). in 2024 there were no opposition, none at all. She held the elections herself and only she participated and won. Being a Bengali first, regardless of living conditions and lifestyle voting rights and freedom of speech/expression are the most important thing to us. We express in a lot of ways, through art, poetry, songs and all of that was forcefully taken from us to the point where we couldn't even talk about what was going on around us. If any of us wrote one single line that was against the government, even if it was gospel truth, we would be either arrested, kidnapped and then encountered or taken to a secret government torture cell called "AYNAGHOR". Google it. If a person would be taken to Aynaghor, the state would deny their capture and the person would disappear forever. You didn't need to be a political activist or associate to be the target of the government. Any Tom, Dick or Harry could be abducted. Forced disappearance became a very normal reality. 2. The government officials were systematically replaced by Awami Leauge supporters using the quota system and fake freedom fighter certificates. Jobs were being handed out like peanuts to Awami Leauge associates and their families even in private sectors. The police and their special branches like DB, RAB, CID, NSI became the most corrupt and started misusing their power on normal people. From a street side chaiwala to the biggest businessman, no one was safe. The police would plant drugs on unsuspecting normal people and extort money from them. 3. Every single and I mean it, every single government officials became so corrupt to the point they didn't even want to talk without bribe. There are drivers and peon's roaming around with 1000Crore bank balances and got their families migrated to USA, Canada, Australia, Dubai and other EU countries using Business Migration. The bigger fish, high officials and Mp's and Ministers literally became multi millionaires and some even Billionaires in US dollars. 4. The entire market place, from everyday items to food to cultivation to cattle and even IT was controlled by syndicates. Syndicates made up of Awami Leauge leaders and supporters. All other competing businessmen were either sent to jail, out of the country or some even to Aynaghor. 5. The education system was utterly destroyed. From once having the best curriculam for Medical and Engineering and a hub for PHD and WHO research, it was brought down to it's knee's by rampant corruption and nepotism. 6. The BCS(Indian Equivalent of UPSC for IAS and IPS) which was once held by the entire world for being one of the hardest exam's, it became a gateway for Awami Leauge supporters to get in to civil service through question paper leaks and quota system. 7. Fake Islamic Terrorism. While some instances of fundamentalist islamic terrorism has taken place in the country, many of them were government made and regular normal people were arrested, killed or taken in to custody just to say to the world that we need Sheikh Hasina to suppress this in Bangladesh. 8. Manufactured inflation that increased prices of day to day essentials 100 times over. 9. Prime ministers advisor and billionaire awami businessman Salman F Rahman controlled the stock market like an overlord. It was his puppet. 10. Business's and homes of regular people were taken over by the awami goons. 11. To address a few viral videos. It was Mashrafe Murtaza's house not Liton Das's. The person in the pond swimming to avoid attacks was not a hindu but the mayor and Awami Leauge leader of that area and was a muslim. The video of a woman being carried to an ambulance is not a rape victim but a victim of domestic violence from her husband in 2021. The multiple rape victims video is not even from Bangladesh but Bengaluru, India. Uttara, Mohammadpur and certain areas in Chittagong where attacks have happened are not Hindu areas but Muslim areas and they were bihari robbers from the refugee camps and not anything else. These are just a very few points, if I start talking in details it would take a million more words to finish. All of the above started when she plotted and killed off intellectual army officers in the Darbar Hall massacre which is now know as the BDR Mutiny. That's the day it started and it never stopped. For all intents and purposes, we have not just been living under a dictatorship but a mafia rule for the past 15 years. The students protested 3 times and third time was the charm. She ordered the police and military to control the protest by any means necessary. Deaths meant nothing as long as she was in power and the police, rab, bgb, swat and dgfi complied but the military didn't. Although she replaced all the important military personnel with her own people, some of them had grown a conscience and the biggest part of the military training is to never shoot your own citizens and thank god that training came in to play. Most of the military just stepped aside and let the students move forward on the last day. Most of the personnel she had appointed were sacked the very night and all prisoners of Aynaghor were released. She bought high tech Israeli spyware and spied on literally everyone, even her own party people because she had developed trust issues which only happened because she knew what she was doing was wrong. She called herself the mother of murderer's in her close quarters. Dr. Yunus has been chosen by the people unanimously to fix the country and has been given a time frame of 6 months to 6 years to do whats necessary and hold free and fair elections. The country has come to a point where every political party except her awamil leauge has agreed to let Dr Yunus do what needs to be done without intervention. About the attacks on Hindu's. Let me be very clear. Every content on the internet is reverse searchable. Please do and you will see that 90% of it is fake. After Sheikh Hasina fled, one of the leaders of Chatra leauge was caught trying to flee at the airport and his cellphone was confiscated. In his cellphone, messages were found where he and other leaders ordered other Awami Leauge supporters to covertly attack Hindu temples and houses to create a communal violence so that people start to think Sheikh Hasina was better. It was further proved by the fact that even before one single hindu family/temple was attacked, Hasina's son Sajeeb posted a facebook video where he said his mother just left and already minorities are being attacked but not a single attack happened till then. Fun fact, this tactic brought the country closer and united us more as Mullah's and Madrasa students came to protect the hindu area's and temples. If any of you have read the whole thing then please feel free to ask me questions and I will give you real, unbiased answers but you have to be civil. And to the showrunners, please have someone like me on call if necessary to get a real picture and get real answers which are unbiased and not related to any political parties. And please I beg all of you to not buy in to conspiracy theories. We hate Pakistan, more than you do. The pro pakistan comments you see on social media are mostly bots of different political parties and some are regular people trying have fun by trolling and a majority of them are Bihari's. The bihari's that the pakistani's left here in 1971 and they cause all kinds of troubles including petty crimes and even murders here and they still hope to reunite Bangladesh and Pakistan someday. Most of them hates us. I personally feel pity for them but I am just one person. Most Bangladeshi's like me hate radicals as much as anyone else in the world. Be it a muslim radical or a hindu radical. And not everyone wearing a cap and who has a beared is Jamat Islami. My dad has a colored beard and wears a white cap but he is a doctor and a researcher for WHO and has been part of many research teams that has worked on figuring out treatment for the various diseases including covid. He is just religious and most older generation Bangladeshi's are just like that, religous. Not extremists. We are the only nation in the world who fought for independence twice and also for the right to speak their mother language. Do not belittle us or be weary of us just because of some conspiracy theories. ISI can't afford to buy a plane ticket to Bangladesh let alone fund an uprising.
Agreed with most points but 90% of the news of minority persecution is not fake. This is a clear pattern followed by Islamist all around the world. atheist Bangladeshi bloggers have explained this very well. They are clearly stating there is a chance for Islamist outlets to come to power. It is clear that it won’t be as easy as it was for them in the case of Iran in 1979 but the danger still lies. I agree some of these elements were given a free ride by Awami League and attacks happened that time too. But if you ignore the Islamist element by comments like 90% of it is fake then I can show you studies of demography change in Bangladesh due to minority persecution by Islamists. If you are still blind to it because it is an uncomfortable truth, then no one can help you. Frankly Bangladesh was never a good place for minorities, not under Awami League, not under BNP and not even now. And before you compare it with India, do a study of our demography.
Bro dont waste your precious time. Most of the indians are brainwashed by godi media, and i don't know why these guys suffering from superiority complex. Whatever we achieve, they always portray in a way that everything is conspiracy. This revolution happened before me, and i know how patriotic our students. The bottom line is this Indian never get to understand our sentiment and what we can do for our country.
I have been searching for videos of sushant sareen since Hasina fled to India. Finally found. Sushant is one of the best commentators in foreign policies of India especially on our neighbors. To add my views on it, the India -BD relationship is not going to deviate dramatically. Yunus & Modi both need each other. One for economy while other for geopolitics. India will surely not enjoy the Hasina time leverage in all fields but will also not face over-assumed unnecessary resistance too.
Why do we keep over compensating Congress for initiating things but not give credit to Modi for doing the hard slog in global diplomacy , economy n neighbourhood first policy..as a matter of fact , in all spheres
Thank you for this podcast. Sushant your analysis well explained and simplified. Wealth of knowledge on geo politics. Well balanced to come to a conclusion.
During this period, Bangladesh was under a caretaker government that had taken power in January 2007 following widespread political unrest and concerns over electoral fairness. Dr. Yunus was widely speculated to enter politics during this time. In 2007, he announced his intention to form a new political party called the Nagorik Shakti (Citizen Power) to bring about positive change in Bangladesh’s political environment. His potential entry into politics was met with both enthusiasm and skepticism. However, after a few months, Yunus decided not to move forward with the party, citing the lack of popular support and the challenging political environment. Being a analyst, you should not rely on speculation or guessing game rather doing concrete research.
Looking at the reaction of Gautam C , it quite evident that the narrative did not flow as per his beliefs for sure.If I'm not wrong he has spent his substantial productive time in US.
The rulers in Delhi treated Bangladesh as a colony. They (including the previous Congress Governments) thought that Bangladesh would be safe for India if Bangladesh were put under the corrupt and violent rule of a psychopath like Hasina and her goons. The past three elections over 16 years were rigged to keep her in power. During this time there was no freedom or democracy in Bangladesh. Thousands of people were arrested, abducted, disappeared, and suffered inhuman torture for suspected opposition to the regime. India was an accomplice with the RAW agents always advising and guarding Hasina. This is reported by some Indian commentators. This has come to a disastrous end. The RAW agents fled on a flight as soon as Hasina left Bangladesh. Mr. Jaishankar's statement in Parliament was full of lies as if he did not know anything. Delhi and most of the people of India will not understand their stupidity.
Certain tools, methods, ways etc used by powers of the world to destabilise countries, engage in regime change, and install a favourable voice in such nations. EG: Democracy Index and India's sliding rank; Virtue signalling by US and certain groups echoing their voice here; Control over Big Tech which impose norms on nations in the name of exercise of freedom, which incidentally coincides with certain anti-national groups; using money and other incentives for upsurges.....there are multiple ways
Steps and procedures to be taken to achieve the goal will be shared among small groups who will coordinate based on that. During India’s farmers protest, it came to limelight that they were creating next steps like 1) if Govt shoots what kind of disturbance to be done on the ground 2) how should media cover it 3) what kind of slogans to be repeated in Twitter etc etc You are living in matrix ! Welcome to new world!
I’m not sure since when people who support their arguments with their own created hypotheses are called "leading experts." But well, in India, anything can happen; it’s a nation very fond of fairy tales. See, the issue with two cents of 'geopolitical experts' like Sushant Sareenis that their entire argument is based on their own hypotheses. They don’t have enough evidence to prove their hypotheses and back their arguments with, “I don’t know; I’ve heard many conspiracies.” Even as a Bangladeshi, I was following their conversation from a neutral point of view until he presented the claim about Dr. Yunus. In 2007, the military did want Dr. Yunus, but not to participate in the elections, that wanted him to act as the chief of the caretaker government. There were many discussions about it, but Dr. Yunus refused to take part in politics. So, no-Dr. Yunus didn’t participate in any elections in Bangladesh. His hypothesis failed again when he compared Dr. Yunus to some Pakistani ruler who believes they are widely accepted but are actually not. Watch the gatherings outside the airport when Dr. Yunus landed in Bangladesh. How many people, after so long, have watched a live interim government oath on TV witnessing their democratic wishes coming true.
They have 0 knowledge about the country and the only thing they are concerned about is their selfish interest.. There's a reason people are becoming anti-India, they will act victim saying it's bcz they are hindu majority country.. 😂😂😂
US China Pakistan what the hell r they talking about… I expected they’ll ve nuanced discussion on the matter but they did not even talked about ppl of Bangladesh… This is actually where Indian topmost forums has been reduced into.. The questionnaire was Is Bangladesh another Afghanistan or Pakistan? This shows that they r arrogant as they were earlier on the matter especially on the people of Bangladesh..
India needs to withdraw voluntarily from the Nepalese territories of the Lipulekh , Lipuyadhura and the parts of Susta to minimize the threat of chaos in Nepal similar to the chaos in Bangladesh . If India wants the Nepalese territories of the Lipulekh , Lipuyadhura and the parts of Susta , they can be exchanged with Shravasti by signing a treaty of the exchange of equal territories between India and Nepal .
Neighborhood-first diplomacy without any understanding about the neighbor. I find Indian foreign policy debates an echo chamber echoing ISI, Pakistan, China, Fundamentalists, anything but peoples aspirations of Bangladesh. They talk the talk when the ground reality is something else. Just for a change, how about building a people-to-people relationship instead of only having a state-to-Hasina only relationship? Anyway, Bangladesh doesn't exist for India, it exists for its own aspirations, whether India is with us or not. This discussion makes it clear.
I wish all Bangladeshis would think like you and leave India alone. Millions of your countrymen are living in India illegally and are a big burden to India - we are already a heavily overpopulated country.
Every economist needs to learn history.. coz previously we use to gold and silver now we are using fiat system.. thats why oversmart like you needs to learn even basics of the world.. even ur bangladesh protesting student jokers thinks like you that they know everything but they are fool enough to fall prey for the larger geopolitical agenda
why are you calling the situation in Bangladesh a crisis? It is the long cherished revolution of the people of Bangladesh over the dictator sheikh Hasina. We are happy that Hasina has fallen. It is our second independence. Don’t call it a crisis. It’s people’s revolution.
The alternative that you are going to get is far more dangerous than you think. All the economic progress Bangladesh had in the last decade is going to evaporate as no body is going to invest in a politically unstable country. Is the revolution also includes killing minorities like Hindus ?
@@XoPlanetI Sorry what? Why are you an Indian so concerned with Bangladesh's economic development? Who are you to tell us that a woman who without any care order the shooting and killing of peaceful students some less than 18 years old and arrest anyone on the street based on their Facebook profile is better for our people? The Hindu genocide is being grossly exaggerated and it is happening with Muslims as well. They are being killed and vandalized. Please see some other media other than india's
@@XoPlanetI econom,ic progress? lmao you indians are best propaganda machines in the world ,,, Hasina literally destroyed our economy already kindly study world bank reports
You know so many things and continuing to have caparison with Myanmar & Pakistan but I hope you would consider it's Bangladesh. Our people are quite different from even your ones. Now today everything is almost under control by the collective initiative and power of will of students and general people. Sois Islam ❤❤
@tylerb8032 You have the vishwaguru's brain in you. No wonder you choose not to understand what is being said. Ask any Pakistani who is the root of all evil? Just as you said America they also say the same. You have very little knowledge outside whatsapp group.
Has Dacca become a geopolitical playfield. ? The US and UK are the two predominant destinations for Bangladeshis to seek employment besides some European countries and Australia. The US and UK residents of Bangladesh have alot of voice in their adopted countries 's ruling elites. China may give some token aid to Bangladesh for a quid proquo but nothing more. The US predominantly has the maximum leverage in that country.
About Rahul's question, why can Hindus not donate land to WAQF - Since concept of Waqf is derived from Hadith, Rahul will have to show in Hadith where a Kafir (non believer) was giving land for Waqf and the Prophet (PBUH) accepted it.
If pakistan would have won in 1972 , they wouldn't have given an inch of land, why we formed an entire nation ! We should have incorporated the whole land
As a real friend of Hindu which I have many .Kindly think the effect of CAA on Hindu papullation in our country. The Hinds live with India card in their hands.
Do you think the RAW should be held responsible for unable to assess the situation and get the intelligence report in advance ? This is really a nightmarish situation for us Indians !! As it is people have poured in droves from that country to ours and unfortunately a great part of our poltical class has played their part for their 'Kursi Bachao' to welcome them and these people have run amok the entire India. You will not be able to catch hold of them. we are really worried.
It is not intelligence failure. There is a limit to what India could do in Bangladesh and India did. They advised Sheikh Hasina not to take a heavy hand on students, they managed to bring her out safely. Short of direct military intervention, there was nothing more India could do. We are not Americans . We do not start bombarding countries based on our preconceived notions.
Again, you didn't watch the video carefully. They said India's way of influencing is having a friendly chat rather than giving commands like the US does. Not only India but Russia also warned Hasina about what was going to come, but Hasina had become very arrogant and overconfident. Her foreign minister arrogantly gave statement on TV that such a forced regime change was not possible in BD. RAW also warned her not make Waker-Uz-Zaman as the army chief but again she did not listen. Zaman backstabbed her at the most critical moment, refused to follow her orders and gave her 45 minutes to leave. How is that India's failure? India wasn't running the Hasina government, it's her arrogance and smugness that led to her ultimate downfall.
Dr. Jaishankar said in the Parliament that 'we counseled restraint'. India for sure knew what was happening. India cannot enter Bangladesh and do things as per their wish.
These so-called experts on regional politics have little understanding of Bangladesh or its politics. Dr. Yunus was never unpopular in the country. He didn’t win a single seat (as claimed) because he ditched his proposed party weeks after floating the idea, long before the elections even took place. Sad!
Neither do you or else you clowns would not have torn down Mujibur Rehman's symbols. You clowns burned down the house where he was gunned down. When you do not remember your history and learn lessons from it, it repeats. If this was genuine, you should have separated Mujibur's legacy with Hasina and should have taken adequate care to ensure that Jamaat is kept away from misusing and abusing this movement. The very fact that Hindus are being attacked for no reason indicates a deeper malaise. This whole so called movement is already discredited.
@@whataboutry Hahaha! You seem to live in a fool's paradise. Our movement has been embraced by people from all walks of life; if don't see that you are just shamelessly blind. And Mujib has long lost people's love when he introduced an autocratic rule back in 1974. If tearing down his murals break your heart, you are welcome to bring them to your country at your own cost. You can then declare him the father of your nation or just worship him. LOL
Islamists are experts in everything thats why they are able to have democracy in their country.. how unfortunate.. coz the special book wont ever allow critical thinking to take place.. well about younus he opted out bcoz he knew he wont get vote in 2008.. even many independent candidates do in indian election… and he might be famous now coz the other alternative thats khaleeda zia is equally worst.. so you dont have choice but to have yousuf.. next no country can prosper without having trade relations with their neighbors.. so if your american puppet is upto disruption then wait for another middle east happening in eastern side and western side of india(which always was the case).. so the time will tell.. one thing islam never learns that they dont understand democracy and next they can be easily fooled by the westerners
Nice attempt on podcast.... But as anchor and guest both belong to same organisation... This personal bonding is derailing the sanctity and depth of questions asked
You both are great talkers, unfortunately you have not lived under Shaik Hasina Autocratic ruthless rule.So consequently it’s people revolted under the leadership of the students. My earnest request respectfully to you both to impress upon Indian people to leave us alone.
Sheikh Mujibur Hasina was wrong for atrocities on Students for which she should be denounced to hold any political post in Bangladesh for lifetime.. But miscreants attacking Hindus is also Bad for Bangladesh society..
ORF experts do good dialogue but missed that 2018 offered scope to infer from protest when buses & trucks ran over protesting students. It was time when Bangladesh govt. could have punished errant people & such course correction may have saved it.
Important⤵️ One major but less discussed problem is that Indians esp Hindus don't know who are their real enemies i.e. Shatru-bodh. Hindus have been given the pill 💊 of Secularism which has subdued their civilizational pride & patriotism. Hindus need to be aware about their security concerns as well apart from money & religious duties esp the new generation.
Dr. Younus will face the challenge of his life to match 460 billion dollar GDP for BD for which Hasina will be remembered for a long time. For Younus to do better than Hasina isn't impossible, with US backing, but the US has sinister plans that may backfire in this case.
India must not take side with a dictator and her son and must not give them any platform. Both of them must face justice for their crimes.
