I got full marks in high school's history because I once explained in detail what materials were imported/exported in every single city of the North Sea, my teacher was impressed for my depth research about the Hanseatic League and rewarded me for like 3 years. Thank you Patrician III, a part of my heart will be forever yours
I love this (largely unknown) game, and even to this day, I can still find the time to play a few hours of it here and there :-) Does Patrician III qualify as a cult classic?
Beautiful memories of this game: my dad used to play it a lot, I was in early middle school and just played it for the naval battles and the piracy thing. Growing older eventually I tried again in a more serious way and, man, one of the most difficult game I've ever played, never managed to achieve too much. My father on the other hand, he was exceptionally good, he was a true pro. Given the difficulty of the game only now I get how badass of a player he must've been. The memory of me in my 13yo room doing homework with this music and other game sounds coming out of my father's studio brings a smile to my face
It took months playing 3 hours everyday until I manage to become the Alderman. It's indeed hard but the satisfaction of getting there is incredible. Especially because being alderman isn't just a title. But you got to actually rule the whole northern europe. Building a new city, raising army. You also can become a corrupt tyrant who stole embezzle money from treasury and raising tax to starve the people, literally shaping the region as you see fif It become entirely a different game that makes it worth getting through the hard early game
So many memories come back as I hear this masterpiece. So unfair that this soundtrack (and the game itself) didn't have the recognition it should have had. Specially the Menu track, it hits just in the feels. As I said, the complete soundtrack and the game by itself is just a masterpiece.
RIP Ascaron: Sacred, Port Royale and Patrician were quite the gems. So much time spent in P2 and P3... cartoonish amounts of wealth and still struggling with pirates haha. Too bad you really need good eyesight for these games and with older age it's not as fun.
This game gave me the first glimpse I got into the history of a nation other than my own. Listening to its soundtrack always brings back such good memories. Long live the Hanseatic League.
One of the most beautiful AND difficult games i ever played, with luck i can finish the first scenario but after that i'm unable to make money or reach the objectives. One day though!
es uno de mis juegos preferidos muy dificil de jugar (me refiero para llevar una buena economia ) pero en si era muy entretenido me lo pasaba jugando todo el dia este gran juego
what a weird game I've been playing it since i was like 10 and I still love it, even though i generally hate heavy management games, but this one just clicks for me, it has a really steep learning curve but it's incredibly rewarding once you get into the mechanics, it creates a lot of memorable moments just by itself, and even though it has some broken shit and it can be abused the hell out of, It has given so much fond memories. I'm glad I found the soundtrack, I searched for it a few years ago and couldn't find it, so thanks
Yep, after my trading fleets turn into freighters. other game mechanics become optional. Because both of my reputation and money will skyrocket. I'm guaranteed to got elected lord mayor and alderman if I've done the missions
es un gran juegaso np he visto que lo jueguen multijugador sera por sus largas horas por partidas yo pasaba jugandolo todo el dia y vaya que costaba mantener buena economia
