You stand as a prideful christian you stiff-necked hypocrite. You're thinking like an idolator. First off love is not a commandment, it's a concession. You know that God for example, he can't force people to love each other against their will. Like he can't force people to love him against their will. Right? (1Cor. 7:35) I mean look around you! There is still hate and chaos in the world because people choose sin over good. Naturally. They even choose to hate God as well. Even other christians still struggle sometimes with these predicaments. Sometimes people want to win someone's heart, but the problem is that they don't know how to cherish and treasure it. The commandment that God gave to Adam in Genesis was to obey, be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth. (Gen. 1:28) To who we love is a choice. Even sexual behavior is a choice. Your version of God is where you think that he's a God that tolerates and alloys everything. But if that's the case, that must mean that he allows evil to exist and that he shouldn't have a problem with people sining. (Even committing adultery). So I guess that makes God evil then, right? Wrong! We are the ones who make mistakes and alloys evil to endure our lives. We were born to sin whether you like it or not. Even I'm not perfect, and I don't have to be in order to say something. Secondly, in your comment you said that we shouldn't judge. Well I must say then, why then are you judging other people for being rude, hateful, judgmental, if they are not even judging you? Or why are you then judging people for judging you or your friend? You think that all the other people are the same. Read (Matt. 7: 1-3) Jesus teaches us on how to judge properly by having to fix ourselves first before we could help others. So God is not saying that we shouldn't be judging at all, he's saying that we need to be more careful. You know in God's words that sin is absolutely not allowed in heaven. Jesus and his disciples have always said that there must not be even a hint of sin and sexual immorality in you if you wish to enter the kingdom of God. Tell me, of the sins, lying, adultery, stealing, murder, ect., can you think of any other sin... where God himself wiped out entire cities, to remove that sin? You may seem to show sympathy for your friend Gavin. But you also seem to doubt in God in all his ways. (Matt. 10:33-42) (Luke 12:8-9) (John 12:48) (1John 2:4) By putting God away in a box and then letting him out when ever you feel like you (or friend) need some spiritual healing or comfort and then putting him back into that same box when you're done, then later ignore him and pretend that he is not listening, doesn't make you a true loving christian. AR Jones, you are suppose to be Gavin's friend. If you really care about him, you know that true love does not stay silent. The real answer is "God is love", (1John 4:7) not "love is love". The truth is that if you and your friend do not turn way from sin and let Jesus into your lives, you will never get the opportunity to live with God forever. (Matt. 18:3-6) (Matt. 16:26) You must be born again and get out of that old slacking comfort zone that both of you are in. You have to make it your business if you are so concerned about where you going in the end. Because God will not ask you on how well you lived your life, but instead he will ask you "What have you done with my son Jesus?" For he had given you a chance to accept him in all your ways, yet you forsaken and turned away from him. For you did not fully believed in him and did not walk by faith but rather only what you could only see with your eyes of disbelief. You may think your something special but neither of you are perfect. God, however does love you both very much and he provided away for you to escape eternal damnation. (Acts 16:31) (John 3:16) (John 7:38) (John 8:12 and 31-32) (John 14:6) My friend, you can't just nit-pick the holy scripture and say now you are an expert with your own interpretation or understanding. Also you can't just have God in your life and say thats all you really need and don't mind on changing your attitude by saying "good enough". You have to read the whole scripture carefully in order to get better in understanding God. Thats what it means to be a better christian by living, learning, and keep what is holy, good, and close to your life. Accept the new and all old things will pass away. Don't give in to sin because its easier. Turn away and be blessed. Having to tolerate all of people's doings is like having to recognize sin and accept it. Although a little bit of suffering is what makes us stronger in wanting to be closer to Jesus. You must not lose that apologetic value with God my friend. God bless you.
