Patrick County, Virginia. 1982. 

Thank you for this post, just seen my relative's (they passed-on) that I have not seen in 55 years and now I have tears in eyes!

I worked at JP stevens Patrick plant in 1980. I miss 1980's PC life. Good people, good cars, good fun. I appreciate you putting this on here.

I was born in 82. My family, born and raised in PC. I grew up living in Henry county, but Patrick county always felt like home. I spent so much time with the family in Patrick Springs, or riding the roads with my daddy. I remember being very young, daddy took me to the old store in this video so i could hear Mr. Foddrell play guitar. I was a very shy and quiet kid, but when he played, i remember dancing to that guitar like I was a pro. That's a memory I've never forgotten, and i hope to never lose. Mr. Foddrell i guess, helped inspire me in some way to love music and learn to play guitar myself. Thank you sir. And thank you for posting this video. This was something i didn't know my heart needed.

I grew up at my Grandma's. I remember her sharing memories about when Bull mountain burning. She lived on the mountain. Austin was her last name. First married a Justice he passed, second marriage name Clifton. Never know, we may be cousins. 👋👋

I was born in Patrick and the question around 27:20 and the response I think sums of my own observations growing up there in the 80's and 90's and now when I return to see family. When I was a kid everything was family farms with just the plants up in Stuart, and people had a sense of pride. That sense of pride is something that is missing in the modern world far to often as people became dependent on someone else to live and survive. There continues to be the brain drain.. most move away for college or work and few come back since while the area is blessed with natural beauty but few jobs.

Lol, an old person telling how TV ruined my generation...now my generation sits around disgusted by how computers have ruined the latest generation. And when radio came out the old people complained that that to, had ruined the latest generation :)

Things are always changing some good some not so good but Gods way and love never fails just an ole bedford county farmer
