Patrick Fernando (1931-1983) and Lakdas Wikkramasinha (1941-1978) are the two heavyweights who characterize Sri Lanka's English poetry scene in the immediate post-independence period. This is an overview of Fernando's and Wikkramasinha's craft with reference to dominant aspects of their writing and approach to poetry as a whole.
