I agree. Patrick has a big heart and puts himself in dangerous situations so we can see what the brave people in Donetsk have lives through for years. He lets the people, the bombed out buildings and to sound of gunfire paint the picture for us.

What Patrick is doing is phenomenally important. Not just as a news source, but as a curator of witness statements and evidence of all the human rights abuses and war crimes. Always rolling with the Russian military, never going to other places than Donbas/Luhansk region. If he was a real journalist he would cover the war in other regions of Ukraine, but never does. Basically he is staging his scenes in advance before reporting in them, placing objects that wasn't there, etc. Interviewing people that are either forced, paid or simply pro-russian, to say the things that the Russian government want them to say, in order to make Ukraine look bad, and Russia look like saints and saviors'. I had a Russian speaking Ukrainian family who stayed in my home. According to them the problem started in 2014. They cannot undestand why the Western media is not responding the situation in an honest way. To be honest they did not want Russia to invade the country, but believe that without US interference this war could have been prevented. They said providing weapons will just prolong the war and kill more people on both sides

Patrick is a reporter with a capital R. He convinced me of that not only with his courage, but also with his unbiased style of asking questions. The worst thing is when a journalist asks a question in such a way that there is only one possible answer, and unlike most Western journalists, he doesn't do that. He has my admiration. He often ask question. wich are leading questions like "Q: its was the azov battalion shelling, your resident A: we were being shelled, i dont know" The important things is that he is being biased here, its not an open question. You can check his latest videoes yourself. And secondly the most important, is his "documentation" and being a "JOURNALIST", he does not question his sources, and he does not say time, date, place where footage was taken. Without such key information, what he "documents" are higly voulnerable to be taken out of context, staged or false. I have heard from his supporters that he dont disclose such information because of his own protection, I can understand that to some degree. So he cant be targeted, but when his channel obiously upload old footage, this cud have been done safely with having a delay 2-3 days, or until he is out of the area. But by not doing this, we cant take anything seriously imo. I like to check his channel from time to time, just to get another pov, but most Ive seen seems staged, over dramatized, and not trust worthy. And everyone shud be critical watching conent like this.

But most likely the chechen fighter lies when he tell that the body in front of the small yellow excavator, you can see in front of them. Just have been killed that day. His ability is unpretentious, unencumbered with adjectives but with a clarity of honesty and purpose that reveals the TRUTH of the moment. If there is such a thing as an Hero, Patrick has because of his nature and hidden strength, when confronted by extreme danger performs as a journalist as well as a real caring person who records the hidden realities while helping the victims of astounding violence. The last independent investigators on alleged Syria Chemical attacks were silenced and removed, reports totally redacted to show Assad used chemicals yet they found out the people who were covered in white stuff were forced by White Helmets to stage the scene. UN is no longer a free and reputable organisation as they don't even dare to investigate Western crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq despite clear evidence. I remember Alex actually held a livestream a couple of years ago with Patrick and a fellow Canadian Alina McLeod. Patrick probably touched on the situation in Donesk but stupid me didn't know what was all that about.
i want to suggest another guest who's in Donbass. Patrick has been there since the beginning eight years ago and has steadfastly remained there. He has the right point of view vis-à-vis the People's Republics and no one can question his courage and hard work. But Patrick had a co-worker for at least a couple of years in Donbass, and that was Graham Phillips. Graham lived not only in Donbass, but traveled through other areas of Ukraine. Graham was arrested in 2014 as a suspected Russian spy by the SBU, the Ukrainian junta's security service (very much a Gestapo). There was for a few months an international campaign to free Graham. Graham spoke Russian better in 2014 than Patrick does today, and his Russian now is close to perfect, with little of the British accent he had eight years ago. Patrick can correct me about this, but eight years ago he was in effect an understudy of Graham's. . In the 2-3 years Graham was in Donbass, Graham assembled a documentary archive that, I'd say, is almost what Patrick has today. Furthermore, Graham has many documentaries about Crimea and many other regions of Russia and is well known in Russia. I would say that Patrick is more modest than Graham, whom I Patreonize with a small monthly amount. He knows me as "Atlanta Bill". Lately, I had to call Graham down for making a backhanded negative comment about Patrick's English subtitling and his command of Russian; I was appalled. Nevertheless, they were once good friends. By the way, Graham isn't married as Patrick is, and Graham took fewer chances with sticking his head out under fire; not to say that Graham avoided areas where there was fighting. Russell Bentley knows Graham. . I'd like to see them back together again. I don't know whether they had a falling out, but I'm sure their friendship can be patched up again if that's the case. You can find Graham's channel at his name, Graham Phillips. His videos, playlists, and documentaries are grouped by topic. One difference with Graham is that he's very adept at producing lengthy documentaries that give you a feel of what kind of people the individuals of Donbass are. I suggest, especially, Graham's two-hour documentary on the life of the famous Doctor Liza. Graham was in the liberated areas of northeastern Ukraine, and now he's back in Donbass (or that's where he was headed). . Incidentally, I have to say it. Patrick is downplaying the Banderovite OUN/UPA nature of the Verknovna Rada (high parliament) in Kiev. The government is dominated politically and terroristically by the Nazi element, despite what you hear. The Donbass Republics were buying military equipment with donations from Russian citizens on the world market. The Russian government was doing virtually nothing to arm or otherwise assist them; even the emergency food-and-medicine convoys were organized and stocked by volunteers in Russia. There have been Russian volunteers in the Donbass people's militias, but there have been volunteers from more than a dozen other countries, as well. Of course, dissatisfaction with Putin inside the militias has been downplayed, if not stifled. Graham can tell you about witnesses who saw the Ukrainian Nazis murder peaceful citizens for amusement. These are Nazis with a tradition going back more than 75 years and who had a reputation for brutality that embarrassed the German SS. Listen, Daniel. The Russian People lost 27 million of their citizens defeating the German fascists; for them, this war is a continuation of their defensive war to defeat fascism that should have ended 77 years ago. Every citizen of Donbass lost one or several family members to them. Naturally, as someone who's a World War II war orphan, I find it extremely difficult to speak about Nazism cold-bloodedly. The recent rise in global fascism is something that should concern not only Russians, but everyone in the West.
In your view, was the dissatisfaction with Putin inside the militias because of what they saw as inaction, or not intervening sooner to stop the brutality on the people of Donbas by the Nazis in Ukraine?
@@saransong5547 I don't think you can separate the two. The dissatisfaction was stirring for some time. I don't want to exaggerate it because I don't think it led to any mutinous action, although some of the militiamen (and they were in an unpopular minority and might even have been planted provocateurs) believed that the FSB was assassinating the most effective militia leaders or helping the SBU (Ukrainian Gestapo) do so. It really never came to much. . There's a theory that Putin was using the militias to keep up ongoing hostilities so that Ukraine couldn't be admitted into NATO (according to its rules), but I think that's highly cynical. I really don't think Putin is the Machiavellian some people believe he is. Putin is a statesman by heart, not a militarist; therefore, I believe it was extremely painful for him to call the Russian military into action. . Does the spelling 'Donbas' (one s) mean you're sympathetic to the Ukrainian nationalists? That's alright because I've spelled it 'Donbas' myself. I can tell you what I've been told about the choice of a flag that looks like the Southern Confederate flag without the stars (extremely distasteful to me): it's an old Russian naval flag. Formerly, I even suggested that the Republics shouldn't have given up the Ukrainian flag, but now I know more of the history of the region. Ukraine's independence struggle is NOTHING like the struggle of the Irish.
