At first glance, Dr. Patrick Moore resembles more CEO than ecologist, but give him a topic like the opposition to genetically modified crops, and you get all the emotion you'd expect from someone who helped found Greenpeace.
RealAgriculture founder Shaun Haney talked to Moore at the Tiffin Conference about his history with Greenpeace, and his feelings on the current state of environmentalism, GMOs, and sustainable energy alternatives.

Patrick Moore in my opinion has a far better idea and understanding of the future environmental, energy, corporate necessities and sustainabilities than most people we generally see in our daily news!

Thank you very much for such rational, scientific, realistic logic. There is enough Covid anxiety without the need for Climate anxiety. I found your Confessions book very helpful.

He is literally a Monsanto lobbyist who said you can drink a quart of round up weed killer

I love how this guy has such passion for the truth in the face of those who don't want to let him have his say. I used to go to an "organic" college and they were so in you're face. Their food was terrible anyway! I get a lot of flack simply because I don't believe in organic and support Monsanto. There is so much hate out there and I have experienced it in person! I don't understand why so many people want to shun science in favour of myths and legends.

I can't claim to be an expert climatologist, like Dr. Moore. But when visiting the State of Maine last summer I went swimming. The ocean was very cold. This clearly demonstrates that Doctor Moore is right that doubling the CO2 in the air will make this planet a better place for all God's creatures.

Isn't 'Dr.' Patrick the guy that told us drinking a quart of RoundUp is perfectly healthy? now doubling CO2 is a good thing?

Actually I work in a plant lab at a public university on a project studying plants nutrient uptake to develop crops needing less fertilizer that grow on nutrient poor soils, but do tell how I'm an ignorant shill. I'd love to know what data shows the failure of GE crops (and I mean real raw data, not rubbish like Failure to Yield & Genetic Roulette [that's what you're thinking of isn't it?]) because last I checked, that was the exact opposite of what the published scientific literature said.

While I agree with the climate change bit I would add that not all GMOs are created equal. The golden rice has not proven to be converted metabolically as expected. Glyphosate causes cancer and other health problems.

i mean he's right on some stuff on climate change. Either way, I don't care about the climate change thing, in the sense that i don't believe in the solutions that our government is trying to force down people's throats.

The “evidence” that glyphosate causes cancer is very weak.... no stronger than the evidence that saturated fat causes heart disease or that salt causes hypertension, both theories which have subsequently been disproven. No... not everything works out as intended, but GMO is far more controllable and testable than random mutation, which has been the basis of plant breeding and natural evolution.

@@peterwebb8732 do you work for Monsanto? Lol the evidence is nothing but weak. Did you not see the animal studies?

@@zabelicious .... No. I’m a licensed chemical user whose job proper understanding of his country’s laws and standards WRT agricultural chemicals. I don’t get my information from sensationalist media and alarmist bloggers. If it was proven to cause cancer, it would not be registered for use...... as a great many other chemicals and medicines have been rejected or deregistered. The irony is that the big firms like Monsanto/Bayer/Dow absolutely love strict standards, because testing is incredibly expensive and so keeps small players from developing alternatives.
@zabelicious

@@peterwebb8732 Regardless, there zero advantages to use glyphosate. If it kills bugs, it kills our microbiome! Let's be logic for a second here.

It is not the matter of how good or bad to us and biosphere since we've been rude enough to both not to have mere right to talk about. What matters is our attitude to the law of nature. And as far as we have a choice, we have to ask ourselves if we really have to do this much just to justify that number not to survive? World food is no problem in amount. Distribution is the real problem. We have to have a revolution on this matter. I got my own pondering on this subject. @daIk

Translation: I make more money now. Yes, look what happened today at 3 mile island nuclear facility, aluminum also causes blindness, and the decimation of insects is a side effect of GMO foods and they cannot control its spread, especially with the Midwest weather

What bullshit. There are whole companies doing nothing but selling renewable energy. They use batteries, hydropower and power to gas. If that becomes too expensive for you, guess what, some companies and home owners already install their own solar power on their roofs and balkonies, which is literally free energy. Opel runs their whole production on their own solar system most of the time in Rüsselsheim. They even sell electricity when they can't use it up. But *that's* what this lobbyist probably doesn't want to happen on a larger scale, right? ;)
