@@d4donkey445 Yeah haha they kinda said it while lacking any sort of light heartedness but it is true, Pat's talked about the 3rd book being shorter in length than the 2nd.
There is so much Lore going on in Temerant, but all we get from the books are just these tiny glimpses. I know this is actually the apeal of the trilogy, but we really need more, and by more i mean A LOT
I agree the world is set to tell a lot more tales but we will see if Pat is able to tell them to us. I speculate he will still have writing troubles even when he finally releases book 3.
This is what I always tell people. It feels like the first two books were just brushing the surface of the story, and that the main appeal to the books is the mystery box writing style that Patrick has. The mysterious atmosphere of the story is so intriguing.
I'm so grateful that you shared this with us! :D I had almost (okay, not really) forgotten how much I love the worldbuilding in the books and to learn more about Temerant!
@@mattnlogan101 it was. In the taborlin story he's called scyphus the sorcerer King. When Kvothe asks Shehyn about the Chandrian, she names the "Rhinta" and their signs and one of them is called scyphus, only spelled slightly differently.
@@EsquilaxM regardless, you think Pat would not read and follow what his fans are saying? :) And, regardless, yet again, id find its a gest of good will to wish him well for holidays, for he is one of my favourite authors. :)
Honestly how are you just now rereading these books with the downtime in-between books and the fact that you physically can't absorb all the hints and foreshadowing in one read. Sorry for the run on sentence
I have finished 2 books in my life, I am quite new to reading for my own sake. The first book was Frankenstein, the second was your book that I finished today. I have never in my life been so invested into a story. I felt like i was a fly on the shoulder of Kvothe. Thank you for being a writer and no matter the wait for the 3rd one, I will wait patiently. Just bought the 2nd book as well and I can not wait to read it.
Do I need to go re read the books again? Lmao they are pretty long, I won’t lie sometimes I read too fast and probably missed important things or little things that were for telling about things.. Edit: I have read them twice, not just once, but I do think a third reading would be a good idea!
definitely worth it. You will discover many new things for yourself. I found new things even on the third reading. Of course, you'll need to read the entire trilogy when The Door comes out again. That's why the Chronicles are so good. You can read them 5 times, and all 5 times it will be a new book. Definitely worth the wait
if i may, there is absolutely no way that you have enjoyed the full depth of the writing if you only have read the books once. So much is hidden, to be discovered upon reading again the books (and i don't mean tiny hints like most novels, i mean true references and even real clues... tho those are an entire new topic of discussion ^^). If there's one book worth reading again, its definitely those (mainly the first one as we have book 2 rn). In any case, Enjoy!
Usually I alternate reading, then do the audio books. I miss stuff when I listen and sometimes I miss stuff during reading. The best is when I read and listen at the same time. Also if you don't have the audio books you are sorely missing out. Nick podel is really a great narrator.
This is very much wow. I read the books 6 or 7 Times in german and 1 time in english since it's not my mothertongue. The name of the first king didn't strike me as familiar, all the more reason to be thankful for such a quick recap.
Oh man finding out all this info is so cool! Those coins in their back store are absolutely amazing! My mind kind of gotten blown watching this LOL... Now I bet Kvothe must feel bad--or he will, maybe--when he discovers that all the Vintish superstition isn't so baseless!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THESE!!!! I'm so glad he's making updates!!!!!
Well, I might get a little upset, if he's Denna's patron and the man who's killed by Kvothe. Fortunately, I'll forget all these things before the book 3's out.
I would also recommend the lightning tree after ASRST. and I think we won't see anything til '22, even if he was finished today publishing/printing/official edit will take another 6 months, not including COVID interfering with everything
I loved the first two books....I am afraid by the time the third book comes out - I will need to re-read the first two to remember what is going on. But - still looking forward to it.
fela dreams that behind the four-plate door is a dead king named valaritas.... it’s possible the commonwealth was once part of vint, and fela has already proved to be at least as adept a namer as kvothe...
I just want to read that book alredy. It’s been sooo long. I think Kvoth ends up not just being Edema Ru. I think he’s related to the women he helped sway for the king in “ the wise mans fear” just can’t recall her name Becuse it’s been so long. But I think his mother was related to her, and maybe his father was the “ Edema ru” so he’s half nobility. Just have a feeling
Its implied pretty heavily that Kvothe's mother was Netalia Lackless the sister to Meluan Lackless who Kvothe helped Maer Alveron woo in The Wise Mans Fear. Its the reason she hates the Edema Ruh so much because she feels that Kvothe's father stole her sister away.
@@Thefenriswolf85 I read these books so long ago. I was in prison. I reread them at lest 4 times. Hands down Patrick rothfuss is a beast writer. And I’m super great full for the friend that left me “the name Of the wind” and “the wise mans fear “ I don’t think Kvoth is Fea, he just was inquisitive. He was thirsty for knowledge and learned their ways. He even learned the Adenms ways. And he wasn’t even that. But I have a feeling he’s half nobility. When this third book comes out I will devour it within hours.
Amrose is gonna become King and Kvothe is going to kill him. I think a lot of the big things foreshadowed and on the blurb of NotW is right under our nose. Ambrose is the King he will kill, Auri is the Princess he will steal.
@@TheApolosum41 ambroses father is killing off his rivals one by one. It is heavily implied that he caused the accident that killed a family above him in the lineage, and then conspired with caudicus to murder the maer. Either he or his son ambrose will be the king kvothe kills
If they just talk about the book with out giving us the book one more time...I will jump in someone’s face, through the screen. .......seriously I will probably be able to develop technology like this before the book is released. It’s like talking about chocolate, without giving chocolate. To starving people!
I am one of those who is not mad at you for the delay so much on doors of stone. It’s your thing do with it as you will. BUT I think I figured out that the delay isn’t about doors of stone is it Patrick? You’re working on your next book so it’ll be closer to being done before you release Doors of Stone. And since that book is not a part of this trilogy you essentially outlined by the mid 90s it’s taking a while for you to get happy with it. Hence you are holding Doors of Stone until your next title is nearer completion
When you actually finish the book I will consider giving you money for something else that has to do with your books. You have gotten a bit lost in your own book and are trying REALLY hard to make money in 100 other ways while still trying to keep us on edge for the book.
I will read the book for free on epub. If I like it like The Name of the Wind maybe I'll buy It like The others. I like his work but I'm a bit tired of this guy.
😂... No one owes you anything, get over yourself. Plus, you don’t know if he’s working on it or not. I’d like to see your write a masterpiece with crippling mental health issues and perfectionistic tendencies, a family, and side gigs
@@-_lilith_- well he does owe the publishing house and his editor who themselves are pretty pissed that he has not shown them a single sheet of paper in 9 years and he does owe to people who have bought his books when he promised them that he has completed the books and would release them soon, so since you don't know the facts you should just shut up before being a sjw
@@aliturk6692 sjw 😂😂 it’s just facts and empathy, it’s called being a genuine fan. y’all love to throw any term around when you realize you’re wrong. and actually no, it’s his project, he doesn’t owe anyone anything despite what everyone else wants, just like how you don’t have to study to be a doctor for a long portion of your life just because your mom and your family wants you to. maybe he’s written most of the book but doesn’t wanna show it to them until a certain point. the first book took 14 years and look how good it turned out, it’s hard when you have to keep changing the story because parts don’t match up and everyone’s putting pressure on you. we don’t know the full story. you guys love to be bitter and kick a man when he’s already down 😂 so fucking pathetic. if anything, he’ll read these comments you guys leave and it’ll worsen his mental health. so not only are you at a loss because you’re always angry about this, but it’ll also not make things any better
@@-_lilith_- actually yes yes he does owe every single penny he has earned to the people who bought his series and the publishing house who agreed to publish it, would you buy a half made house when you have paid half the money in advance 😂 you're so stupid that even ratfuss might laugh at you😂
But maybe the fanbase is purifying into more loyal people, and once DoS is out, they will support it fully and effectively so all the non fans will know about the trilogy AW
@@javadasadi7858 imagine hating on people for asking return on their investment, fans who hate him are justified, he promised them a trilogoy years ago and still hasn't completed it yet
