In Austria we never say "Ich liebe dich", in our dialect it has to be phrased differently: I like you, I am fond of you, you are dear to me, etc. But grammatically you cannot say "Ich liebe dich" in Austrian, because the verb "to love" doesn't exist. Even McDonald's realized that and their advertizement campaign "I am loving it" was translated into "ich liebe es" in Germany, but in Austria they kept the English original. Seems they had some good language advisers.
