I love this video, I've watched it countless times. Nothing like a well sorted rally car having its neck wrung at the limit by a driver that's absolutely in the zone.
Was there marshalling. It was a joy to see and hear Snijers, a master of Belgian tarmac, taking the car and making it sing and dance its way around the stages. I would have loved to have seen Tony Pond (who was the acknowledged Master of the Manx) have a competitive drive in the M3. Brilliant sights and sounds from the glory years of rallying. Thanks for compiling and uploading this little snipper of rallying history!
I love this clip. Just how I drove my 02 and M3. I miss those cars and regret ever letting go of them. Most cars cant handle like this, nor take the abuse.
and to mind that those m3 e30's are classics now is amazing i can see why people question what it runs on instead of petrol because i think its killer hornets
a 4 cylinder na car, rwd, and run by the same(ish) team as the subaru impreza wrx sti by prodrive, devastating the manx and even making Colin wanting it not count towards the rally championship. Thats when you know you have a good car and a godly driver.
Beautiful to watch and shows BMW entertaining driving machine...but seems to untidy to win against serious rally machines and drivers... what was the competition like? Was it any good on gravel and mud? I doubt it with all that oversteer. Probably better for touring car championships dont you think?
