My biggest questions with Surtain II are long speed and short area quickness. If he can run in the 4.4s and give a decent 20 yrd shuttle he’s easily a top 10 pick. But watching him, I’d say he’s in the high 4.5s.
I like the way he plays. You can tell he’s been coached technique at a high level, he also positions his body incredibly well to make a play on the ball. He’s got a similar build to Farley, but is more technically sound than Farley who I feel uses more athleticism. I like his tackling ability but also his football awareness of where the balls going, Has a knack for loose balls. I see his game translating well to the NFL, loose comparison would be Xavien howard
Working on a lil something now! But my p/c both last year and new one this year kept dying on me at the most inconvenient times! Right now Im tryna push through the problems and get _something_ out, one or two vids, before draft day!
He needs to do a better job at protecting his leverage in man coverage, I've seen him get beat inside quite a bit. As for the P.I. Calls, the one at 5:09 was good coverage, but the rest is where he turned towards the receiver on a fade route, and his hand placement on the receiver's shoulder and back is what initiated the calls. Other than that, he's a very consistent tackler which is huge for a defense, and he is also adept at playing zone coverage too, especially when he's a flat player and a deep 1/3 player as well. 1st-2nd round pick imo if he cleans up his hand placement when he's feeling the receiver/hand fighting and does a better job at protecting his leverage in man coverage.
@Avengers: The Investing Initiative you’re right he’s big slow and play like a midget. I didn’t see him do anything special I saw the QB make bad throw. He is a Trevon Digg 2.0 with better ball skill. Surtain Jr have a higher floor right now but Caleb Farley, Shawn Wade and Tyson Campbell is a higher ceiling and will be better than Surtain Jr in a couple year if not already
Yes, I am going to be doing these for this year’s prospects. It usually took me an entire day to do one prospect, but with most teams playing much shorter games, it shouldn’t be a problem.
@@romain1752 this is clutch especially with corner film which is so hard to come by on youtube. Surtain looks a lot better her than in 2020 which is interesting to look at
@@tds-patreon3991 I was hoping there was an audience for it, and it’s turned out far better than expected. I appreciate you taking the time to check it out!
@@romain1752 of course it helps with corner evaluations so much because most corners tape is like 2 minutes. I like see the targeted coverage and then also how they play against the run, but I can usually use the cutups for that.
Hope you have an Israel Mukuamu tape coming soon. I’m doing some work on him now and I’d really appreciate one of your cut ups. You are the best resource for my DB scouting.
I appreciate that Kevin. Well, I’ve started get the recordings of him and his teammate. I’m still deciding whether or not I want to finish it from last year, or just scrap it and start over for this year.
That’s exactly what I was thinking I would love him but if we did have the 4th pick I wouldn’t ant Patrick but seeing that we will probably pick 10-12 or 18 if we make playoffs I don’t see us passing up on him...Diggs and Patrick reunion would be nice or get Kyle Pitts and get Shaun Wade in the second he’s had a down year this season but he’s damn good and look at Diggs this year he’s been really good so I wouldn’t mind that either!
I’ve been working 14 hour days dawg. I’m also the leader of a team of 30+ people so my time has been limited. It makes me so sad to log into this account and see comments like this, I’m sorry 😞
I feel people are hyping him up because his name. There's much stuff he needs to work on. Idk maybe he might actually be good in the pros for whatever reason, but I'm kinda worried.
I like dude. Not my favorite corner but he has real potential and I think future position flexibility. I only counted one missed tackle as well.. (Chase-LSU). Idk if he has the best eyes and just has to learn to trust his play but the dude is right with the WRs in coverage. He’s solid.
