RIP P. You are a great person. You inspired a lot of people with your loving, genuine kindness, talented, and helpful to others, especially for dancers.
“Always had this problem of wanting to be liked” well Patrick my dear you have succeeded in making The World LOVE you!! We miss you deeply😞Rest in peace sweet soul. 😘
wow! you’re so lucky! im especially laughing that you saw him on the flight from dallas, which was the name of a character who he played in the outsiders!
Patrick was a very gifted actor, singer, dancer oh, so humble and handsome. We miss you Patrick. From My Brother's funeral today and he also died from pancreatic cancer diagnose 3 years 4 months ago
Partial view buddy. Sometimes parents are healthy and loving ... sometimes there is not so much luck. Some parents program you to love them out of power, and call that respect and "being grateful"... (as they were so told/taught, sometimes by force, in an innocent domino effect). I love life but my parents were broken, I had to cry and deconstruct a lot what I thought I was ... not to die at a young age like Patrick...,
@@deathbeforedecaf7755 you can tell a lot by listening him say "crying was weak"... : he was a by product of restrictive discipline and keeping emotions inside, I smell that's were cancer came from...
I'm a straight guy and I agree. His soothing voice, humble yet macho bravado, and down to earth mentality reminds me of Paul Walker. You can tell this isn't a front for the cameras. He was genuinely good and deserved everything he earned. What a great man.
The world lost something when Pat passed away. What a good bloke, great values and a huge heart. Hearing and watching him talk of his father made me shed tears. RIP to a real man, hard but soft as well.
Patrick Swayze saved my life. I was in a severely abusive marriage and was suicidal. Then I watched Dirty Dancing and he gave me hope that there really are good men out there...and to NEVER accept abuse from anyone. Yes, the good don't last long in such an evil place that we're stuck living in.
Only the good die young. This guy should have lived much longer. Sad. One of the few good looking hollywood actors who cherished his wife. A beautiful, if not the most beautiful, couple of that era.
@@djkat8514 It's true. She also forged his will and took everything. His family got nothing when he passed, even things he wanted them to have. One day I hope she has to pay for not allowing him to die with dignity :( evoke.ie/2016/08/09/showbiz/patrick-swayze-maid-says-wife-animal
He sure did. Loyalty is a trait he was raised with. He was also a kind friend with buds from Houston's Society of Performing Arts and his friends allowed him to concentrate.
He transformed what could have been just a cutesy movie, into an iconic movie that is unsurpassed. Beyond his beauty and dancing ability he speaks to something deep inside us, that wants to be seen and loved for who we are. The movie really cracked open the superficial values in society.
It's so refreshing to see such an unpretencious tv interview with a human and compassionate approach. Still television, but it feels so warm and real, unlike most of today's ways of interviewing... Patrick of course is the center of it, he's so down-to-earth and honest..
Trenendous person - "only the good die young" is only a very small segment of Patrick. Loved his movies and all the things he did. Always RIP Patrick!!!
His voice is just😍, I can't believe, this world is so cruel, taking amazing people from it, we need more people like Patrick in the world 😢, miss and love you Patrick ♥️♥️
I had to shed a tear with him when he choked up about his father. My daddy died in my arms when I was 20. A mere kid, at 23 I still don't know much of nothing but I know my father died before I could make him proud & that's something that I walk around with bottled up inside me everyday. Hollywood needs more men like PS around. God rest his soul.
He would have been proud of you. You’re remembering him with love and devotion, that means he tought you to be a real man, who recognizes value in people, and because of that i’m sure he would have only been proud of you. Keep up the good job buddy. 👍🏾
@ Quentin Dugger. And the world needs more men like you, wanting to make their daddy proud. I can assure you that your daddy was already proud of you when he died. He raised a fine child and he couldn't be more proud of you.
One of the most physical actors of all time. And so determined in his work. A hard, devoted actor. Unforgotten. So sad he had to die so early and in this tragic way. Heartbreaking!
I love how he maintained two passions both his mother and father had introduced him to. Most young people of our generation don't have one passion, as the age we live in neither enforces us to go for a passion rather than a profitable business, nor ever pointed out how far the huge number of options in a globalized can prevent you from going for your passion! He was a man of love and commitment, but never doggedness. And so much more than just a pretty face! Rest in Peace Sir!
Worried about being liked. Omg I think he must have been adored by the world. What a nice sensitve.,intelligent man.RIP Will always be remebered for your talent. I always thought you were special.❤❤💯
I watch this in 2019 and can't believe he's gone. A true blue Texan, one of a kind man. Still today i offer my condolences 🙏 may he continue to rest in peace.
Have you seen the documentary I Am Patrick Swayze its so sad but a brilliant tribute to him it was revealed he was so private and shy that his manager had trouble convincing him to make public appearances because once he made a movie he just wanted to go back home and leave Hollywood behind. Not one person had a bad word to say about him but it did say he was absolutely devastated when his father died that was what triggered his drinking. They talk about this interview as well he was very nervous about it apparently but good for him for being honest and actually talking about what was still obviously a very raw subject for him. It was so wrong how the media hounded him when he was dying
Not only is your daddy proud, we millions of fans are proud of you too. Gone physically, yet always remembered through your stage performances, films and interviews such as this.
It's amazing seeing how important it is to install respect and love into your children. Always being there for your children with love and keeping their dreams alive. I see this in Patrick and I could tell how much his father meant to him.
Watch the documentary I am Patrick Swayze its so sad but a brilliant tribute to him it covers this interview and he was very nervous about doing this interview. He seemed like such a lovely guy.
When he cried just broke my heart :'(:'(:'(:'(:'( he was much more than a face he was truely gifted and he was a genuinely nice decent person obviously I didn't know him but you could just tell he was it's so sad he went out the way he did god bless you Patrick Swayze your beauty and talent will never be forgotten as your legend lives on ♡♡♡
You should watch the documentary I am Patrick Swayze its so sad but a brilliant tribute to him. Not one person had a bad word to say about him and he was devastated when his dad died that's what triggered his drinking.
Im sure your father would have been very proud and I know your mother was. there aren't too many genuine men like you who are thoughtful southern Gentleman with your looks and talent. we all loved you. Rest in Peace. Lisa was a very lucky girl and woman.
Was floored when I saw Patrick Swayze the first time. "Who is THAT ?" He had the type of personality that attracted everyone. Girls wanted to date him, guys wanted to go party with him. Nice dichotomy. Just glad most of Patrick's career is available on DVD. We can watch him whenever time permits. That's a gift. Bless you Patrick, you are missed ! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. Gone way too soon.

I saw this interview when it aired in 1988. I happened to see it when I was looking on google (then you tube) for movies he was in. I was surprised to know it was just like I remembered it some 29 years ago. It left that much of an impression on me. He was a strong man with such a humble heart. It pulls at my heartstrings, his battle with cancer and his subsequent death seem such a waste of such a good soul. But it was not a waste at all, the world is very fortunate to have had this person that was Patrick Swayze to entertain us and set an example of working hard, being tough, yet compassionate and humble. Rest in Peace, you are to this day missed by many.
Wow! Not only a beautifully, expressive, passionate dancer, Patrick Swayze was a beautiful, caring, loving, grateful, appreciative, kind, generous and humble human being. My condolences will forever be with his beautiful wife, his family and his friends. Love and light be ever yours.
Oh my sweet Patrick. I worked for 5 years during my high school years in summer vacation in central Ontario at a resort.. I fell in love with a wonderful person and sadly, once I went home, we lost contact. A day never goes by that I do not think about those summers and Norm Johnston who I met and I fell in love with and could possibly, have had a life together. Thank you to who ever for giving me Dirty Dancing.
Dont worry Patrick. We've all lost people who meant the world to us, we ran out of time to show them who we would become, tears of love are strong tears, you were a shining example of southern dignity, I very much enjoyed watching this interview, rest in peace mr Swayze...
r.i.p. Patrick Swayze. This man was something special. The most talented leave us too soon. All his movies shows how strong of a talent he was. Dirty dancing and Ghost will never die. No doubt classics. Deeply connecting actor, dancer, and so many other talents we did not know get a chance to see. Very unforgettable man, even tho gone from this world.🕊️
There was and is nobody who can ever be like Patrick Swayze. He was perfect in every way. He wanted to be more than a pretty face , such incredible dignity and nobility along with sex appeal that is unmatched in 3 decades. The stuff legends are made of . Thank you for sharing your incredible talents with the world, you made it a better place. Love at first sight from North and South and consolidated forever with Dirty Dancing. You will be adored forever.
Pure soul, no matter the imperfections. This was why he was able to draw in so many. His meaning of life was not about material, but about matters of the heart.🕊️R.I.P.
REALLY VERY, VERY BEAUTIFUL MAN AAAAAAAND FANTASTIC DANCER !!! God BLESS Patrick Swauze"s SOUL !!!!!!!!!!! ALWAYS WITH A LOT OF LOVE AND LIGHT ETERNAL FEN Nadya Mirkova AND FRIENDS FROM Sofia - Bulgaria - Europe - Russia - Turkey - America and all World !!!
He was a special person. Passionate and with sparkling energy. He was so alive. He was positive and tried to make his life constructive. Swayze was a great personality.
Patrick swayze was just an amazing an wonderful human being that has the most beautiful soul. He is so patient and so kind and has a wonderful sense of humor.
Patrick reminds me of my dad in every way, except the dancing. My dad was 6'7 and played ball for the Citadel, but was the biggest softie and genuinely cared about people. My dad also passed away from pancreatic cancer when he was 50. You can hardly find men like this anymore and when you do, they are typically gone too soon. RIP
What a kind, gentle loving and compassionate man Patrick Swayze was. R.I.P. Patrick! You’ll be missed by everyone. Gone too soon. It touched my heart when he started to cry speaking of his father., such respect and loving words. Again., R.I.P. gentle soul❤️
Wow, so sincere. Absolutely incredible. I was crying with him as soon as she asked him about his father. It was like I was feeling it with him. I started loving his father!!!!
Patrick Swayze such an amazing actor Singer and songwriter. 10 years later I'm still watching his movies especially dirty dancing, tiger, beast, ghost, outsider, next of kin, My favorites👍🥰he was so strong and handsome. Hes gone but will never be forgotten. He will forever be remembered and always in our HEARTS💖may Patrick continue to R.I.P. for eternity and beyond. He will always be missed☹😢keep flying with God's angels🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊thank you for sharing💖😍🕊🕊🙏🙏
He wanted to be liked.....HE WAS LOVED.....a one of a kind guy who spoke honesty with his heart. His dad was his influence & he honored him by having horses & a ranch. How beautiful was he? You'll be missed forever! He's dancing with the angels now!
He was beautiful, I think I was to young to appreciate his talent with Dirty Dancing. He didn't appeal to me physically but watching this now, he was a gorgeous, deep, thoughtful man. His story needs to be on Netflix, there was so much to him and his life.
My mom is in LOOOVE with Patrick Swayze. And I see why. It’s so unfortunate that he died, he was an incredible actor and dancer and I wish I got the chance to be alive in his day and age. I was 3yrs old when he died. May he RIP❤️💕🥺
I have a family member fighting pancreatic cancer now, I pray we find a cure, poor Patrick went through hell and so is my loved one, who is also a Texan. RIP Patrick, we miss you.
I'm reading his book right now and I can't even get through it. I am at the part of where he took on the role of Johnny Castle and the hardships Lisa and Him had to endure before Dirty Dancing made him famous and during his battle with pancreatic cancer. He is a true American for struggling to make ends me and to come out on top. RIP Patrick. May you live on through your book and through your movies.
Patrick Swayze here seems much more real and down to earth than any of the current crop of actors. Even now after's been dead for all these years I still greatly respect him.
